Day 57 — Byakkomachi Suzu

“I can’t wait to see what kind of dreams you’ll realise in the future.” — Suzu, Choices for the Future

Suzu is a collected yet passionate character. She’s shown to have a great love for both her establishment and her craft, as well as a competitive side.

Suzu is an aspiring actress and attendee of the Morinomiya Revue academy, despite simultaneously being involved in the managing circles as its heiress. In the game’s files, she is listed as ‘byakkomachi’.

Suzu appears in The Power of Regret and Choices for the Future.

My thoughts? I am a massive fan of Suzu, absolutely one of my favourite side characters overall, I adore every aspect of this character. Her personality, her background, her event stories, her role in aforementioned event stories, her design — Just, everything, Suzu’s a fantastic addition to the cast! She really got to shine in Choices for the Future and she absolutely seized that chance, her parallels and dynamic with Emu are everything!

Day 56 — Douglas

“I know, I can’t babysit you anymore.” — Douglas, Competitive Fire!

Douglas is a mysterious yet well-known personality. He’s been described by illys as someone exploitative and apathetic — However, we haven’t yet seen much of Douglas himself. He is a part of the side cast for Vivid BAD SQUAD and debuts in Competitive Fire!. He is the father of Elena and Rebecca.

Douglas is a sponsor of the RUSH BEATS event, and has seemingly been involved with such holdings for years. Prior to the events of the game, he was simultaneously known as a legendary (likely) musician, ‘DG’. However, for reasons currently unknown, ‘legend’ is a sole honour, and he is often looked down upon by his old following. In the game files, he is listed as ‘rival’ alongside ‘douglas’.

Douglas solely appears in Competitive Fire!.

My thoughts? I haven’t quite come to a conclusion on how I feel about Douglas (due to his highly limited screen-time), and although I am leaning towards disliking the man due to what’d gone on in illys’ childhood, he’s rather intriguing to me! There’s a lot to unravel when it comes to Douglas — Has he changed? What caused him to fall from the status of ‘legend’? — And most importantly, what role is he going to play in future stories, considering his position is but a sponsor? Frankly, the guy’s got me interested, end section.

Day 55 — Kijima Daigo

“Let’s all do our best as we work on our next production together!” — Daigo, Perspective for Smile

Daigo is a confident, energetic character. He’s perceptive and reliable, yet simultaneously a wonderfully fun individual! He is a part of the side cast for Wonderlands x Showtime and debuts in Perspective for Smile.

Daigo is Mikazukigumi’s troupe leader, and is currently only known to be capable when it comes to stage acting. In the game’s files, he is listed as ‘chairman’.

Daigo appears in events Perspective for Smile and HALT! Tenma’s On the Case!.

My thoughts? I like Daigo! He’s a fun character — His dynamic with Shousuke is frankly hilarious, and I wish we did (and hopefully do, if we’ve even a chance) get more of them. He’s got a solid role in the story as well, and I loved what they did with him in Emu’s fifth! This goes for Tsukasa’s fifth too, although I wish his running lines on Tsukasa taking breaks was leaned into more with that one.

Day 54 — Sakaki Koryu

“If it were up to me… I’d try to rethink this scene with Reki Bakuno in mind.” — Koryu, Backlight, Lens Flare

Koryu is a laid-back yet knowledgeable character. He has a tendency to bestow cryptic advice or information upon those around him, alongside the option to disregard his own statements, for he himself feels he simply speaks on whims at times. He is a part of the side cast for Wonderlands x Showtime and debuts in Backlight, Lens Flare.

Koryu is a supposedly exceptional, well-known stage director, and currently acts as a guest instructor for Tokyo ArcLand’s theatre workshop. In the game’s files, he is listed as ‘sakaki’, this being how his surname was initially found out.

Koryu appears in Backlight, Lens Flare and Deeper and Deeper.

My thoughts? Koryu is interesting. I do get the more critical angle of him considering Deeper and Deeper’s happenings, and I even agree to an extent, he really couldn’t have afforded to be little less harsh? Still, I did understand where his criticism came from. His roles in the events he’s had a feature in occur as very intriguing to me, he’s minor, the solution is discovered independently of him, yet it’s evident the plot wouldn’t be able to function without him. I do want him to appear more solely because, with his nature taken into account, he’s bound to pick the pace up. What a curious character!

Day 53 — Inoue

“We’ll be busy with the club, so we’re in the same boat!” — Inoue, One Small Trip Before a Big Journey

Inoue is a spontaneous, upbeat character. She’s often one to join in with playful schemes, and may come across as careless at times. She is a part of the side cast for More More Jump! and debuts in One Small Trip Before a Big Journey.

Inoue is a 2nd year student of Miya girls’, she currently lacks a Live2D model.

Inoue solely appears in One Small Trip Before a Big Journey.

My thoughts? I like Inoue! She’s, frankly, a real fun addition to the cast. Her nonsense with Haruka was absolutely a welcome addition, her and Sonoda’s contrast made for some wonderful interactions, and I never fail to bring up the ‘We brought you a disguise’ scene, I loved how it presented how the group worked together to us. Overall, fantastic!

Day 52 — Bakuno Reki

“It’s just… It’s been so long since I last had so much fun.” — Reki, Star of Your Own Story

Reki is a reserved, awkward character. While he finds handling interactions difficult, he’s rather passionate about both writing and acting, and stands as a well-known, talented actor. Although his initial goal regarding acting was to allow the audience to see that supporting characters are people with lives of their own due to his identification with them, through his realisation instigated by Tsukasa, he begins to accept his first lead roles. He is a part of the side cast for Wonderlands x Showtime and debuts in Star of Your Own Story.

Reki is an actor of the Shunmeiza troupe, and seems to be able to take on both stage and film acting, with the producing from Back Light, Lens Flare confirmed to be his first film feature. In the game’s files, he is listed as ‘bakunoreki’ alongside ‘bakuyakoyomi’.

Reki appears in events Star of Your Own Story and Back Light, Lens Flare.

My thoughts? I love Reki! He’s a really endearing character and I find myself wanting the best for him. His interactions with Tsukasa were wonderfully wholesome, I loved how he’d developed around StarStory’s tail end (and I can’t lie, that scene in which he expresses his gratitude to Tsukasa may be close to my favourite scene within that event), and of course, the role he had in this event was one I absolutely found right for him!

Day 51 — Sonoda

“Yeah, it looks really good on you!” — Sonoda, One Small Trip Before a Big Journey

Sonoda is an easygoing yet cautious character. She’s often seen providing her friends reminders to be careful, specifically Inoue and Saki, and is often one to suggest practical ideas and plans. She is a part of the side cast for More More Jump! and debuts in the One Small Trip Before a Big Journey event story.

Sonoda is a 2nd year student of Miya girls’. She currently lacks a Live2D model.

Sonoda appears solely in One Small Trip Before a Big Journey.

My thoughts? I like Sonoda! Her cautious nature and the way it clases with Inoue was a rather fun feature, and the two of them are just overall great additions! I really enjoyed how they showcased her practical and playful sides, in spite of her limited screentime. Overall, safe to say I enjoyed having her on!

Day 50 — Taniyama Ibuki

“I think it's great that you're so passionate about something!” — Ibuki, An Unmissable Spirited Affair

Ibuki is a welcoming, energetic character. He’s easy to hit it off with and has a tendency to get rather excited or passionate when the time calls for it. He is a part of the side cast for Wonderlands x Showtime and debuts in An Unmissable Spirited Affair.

Ibuki is a 3rd year student of Kamiyama high, and currently lacks a Live2D model.

He appears solely in the event An Unmissable Spirited Affair.

My thoughts? I love Ibuki! He may as well be my favourite of the Kamiyama side character trio solely because of how fun he and his interactions are to watch! He’s generally such an enjoyable addition to the cast, and I really like how he hit it off with everyone. His fascination with explosions is also just such a goofy yet fitting touch. What a guy! (I had a lot of fun looking him over and writing about him for this one, could we tell?)

Day 49 — Rebecca

"If you talk to them, you're gonna ask to join in, and then the ice cream’ll melt." — Rebecca, Aim Higher and Higher!

Rebecca is a caring, straightforward character. She’s often the one to prevent those around her from making impulsive decisions, particularly her sister, Elena. She is a part of the side cast for Vivid BAD SQUAD and debuts in Aim Higher and Higher!. She is a member of the subunit illys.

Rebecca is a vocalist of illys, with no other currently defined role. In the game’s files, she is listed as ‘rebecca’ alongside ‘vivibasrival’, the latter a trait she shares with Elena.

Elena appears solely in Aim Higher and Higher!.

My thoughts? I really like Elena! Again, illys’ characters had very strong impressions — And the both of them were fun and interesting additions to the event! I loved how Rebecca’s nature bounced off of Elena’s impulse, and the scene in which Kohane managed to gather that the two united o under loving music was one I really liked! Very much looking forward to seeing her again in the likely upcoming VBS event.

Day 48 — Enosaki Akari

“To make today a special day ... I'll go all out!” — Akari, Chase My IDEAL IDOL!

Akari is a passionate, energetic character. She’s approachable and friendly, seeming to have a love for idols herself, particularly More More Jump!. She is a part of the side cast for More More Jump! and debuts in the Chase My IDEAL IDOL! event story.

Akari is an idol of the group ReLight and is currently participating in the LUMINA Grand Prix alongside them. In the game’s files, she is listed as ‘akari’ alongside ‘rivalidol’, the latter a trait she shares with her group.

Akari appears in Chase My IDEAL IDOL! and Start Rolling! Stars’ Crossing.

My thoughts? Akari is absolutely one of my favourite side characters among the cast! I’ve been loving her since reading her debut, and for good reason. I love that she is the character to establish the fact that ReLight are in pursuit of More More Jump’s goal, considering how she’d been shown to have the most respect and admiration for the group. I loved her dynamic with Airi, and that moment after her card had shown up was definitely one of my favourite scenes with her. I absolutely love Akari in general, her personality’s a fun one, and all things considered, she is my kind of character. I’m just a really big fan of her!

Day 47 — Hayashi Shouta

“Entrance exams are the last thing I wanna think about...” — Shouta, An Unmissable Spirited Affair

Shouta is a sociable, level-headed character. While he doesn’t receive as much establishment, it’s evident he’s the most knowledgeable of the expedition within the group. He is a part of the side cast for Wonderlands x Showtime and debuts in the. An Unmissable Spirited Affair event story.

Shouta is a 3rd year student of Kamiyama high, and currently lacks a Live2D model.

My thoughts? I like Shouta! The Kamiyama side character trio are generally a blast, and he’s no exception. This friendship is one that I’m absolutely here for, and I adore their interactions and personalities. Fun guy, fan of him.

Day 46 — Elena

“When I heard you singing, it sent tingles down my spine!” — Elena, Aim Higher and Higher!

Elena is an energetic, exciteable character. She has a big love for music and enjoys performing with new talents. She is a part of the side cast for Vivid BAD SQUAD and debuted in the Aim Higher and Higher! event story. She is a member of sub-unit illys.

Elena is a vocalist for illys, with no other currently disclosed role. In the game’s files, she is listed as ‘elena’ alongside ‘vivibasrival’, the latter a trait she shares with Rebecca.

Elena appears solely in Aim Higher and Higher!.

My thoughts? I’m a big fan of Elena! I know we haven’t gotten much of her, but she’s really a joy to have on screen, and I love the direction they went in with her personality. She’s just such a fun character to have around, and I’m really wondering about what’s planned for her!

Yuu is a stoic, yet playful character. She’s ambitious and dedicated, and doesn’t often succumb to her shortcomings, despite their presence. She is a part of the side cast for More More Jump! and debuted in the Chase My IDEAL IDOL! event story. She is a member of sub-unit ReLight.

Yuu is an idol of the group ReLight, and is currently participating in LUMINA Grand Prix alongside them. In the game’s files, she is listed as ‘yu’ alongside ‘rivalidol’, the latter a trait she shares her with groupmates.

Yuu appears in events Chase My IDEAL IDOL!, Grow Glorious Glow, and Start Rolling! Stars’ Crossing.

My thoughts? I love Yuu! I’m a big fan of how they’d established each ReLight member’s persona and goal (even if situational), and this goes for Yuu as well. I love her design, personality, and interactions with ReLight — The writers particularly seemed to have fun with that last point, and it shows!
