I don’t know if A.I. is just the flavor of the week but now MasterCard is calling in that excuse.  Or trying to.  I was asking the MasterCard representative is Rule 5.12.7, which is the rule PayPal originally cited as cause for the censorship campaign, and for some reason the Rep started talking about MasterCard’s efforts to integrate cutting edge technological innovations. I asked what she was talking about and she said she was sorry MasterCard’s A.I. was causing issues. 

Naturally I asked to speak to a supervisor who quickly told me that MasterCard did not use A.I., could not monitor its customers' purchases, and the representative was giving me bad information and they’d get right to filing my complaint, even though I didn’t ask for one that time. I honestly had no idea what to make of that.  

I did however get some confirmation from PayPal that they DO use generative A.I. to monitor purchases and their systems.  Which seems like a very strange choice, but again, explains a lot. PayPal really just doesn’t seem to know what it’s doing. At all.  While they are the ones who are ultimately enforcing the censorship BS, they’re also the ones I feel like I’m getting the least amount of progress with just through their sheer ignorance.  No one knows what anyone else is doing, or why.  It feels like I’m talking to a wall like 90% of the time.  At least Visa is somewhat consistent in its script reading.  PayPal isn’t even organized enough to make a statement to its reps regarding the situation. I really feel like a new strategy is needed…
