Love your wave
<:] Hey, thanks! I know my take isn't the most popular, but I try to do him well, so it means a lot to know people like him.

Hmmm... It's missing a kiss from one singular person.
Soundwave approaches Shockwave, visor nowhere in sight, and sits right down on his lap. Without even saying a word, it tips his head to the side and immediately presses a very wet kiss to the underside of his helm mere centimeters away from his lower antennae.
He had been taking this time to catch up on his reading-- as much as he disliked the excessive jabbering of the riffraff, he was exceptionally good at tuning them out when he wanted to. He didn't even notice Soundwave approach until it was practically on top of him, jolting him from his datapad.
This wasn't an entirely new experience, but, in public? He looked at soundwave from waist to helm, only to realize the mech was visorless, at that.
His optic may have experienced a minor malfunction-- just a bit of a flicker. He can't even formulate a response before he feels Soundwave's lips on his helm, and he instinctively pulls it in closer. Was this... acceptable? Were others watching this display? Did he care?
It takes a second before he returns his own little zap of electromagnetic discharge, regaining his composure. "I see you're in a.... rare mood, tonight."

Shockwave nodded, but made no comment at the mention of the interview. It was... difficult, readjusting to modern times. They weren't under direct surveillance at all times by the government, but it was hard to not feel the strength of the gaze upon them. Many had presumed, upon Soundwave and Shockwave's union, that they had become conjunx with the intention of conspiring to reignite the war.
Few seemed to understand that even they were capable of being tired of it all.
Shockwave had picked his cube back up, but stopped himself just before Soundwave continued.
Fortunate for him, for he would have spilled his drink at his partner's following statement. Instead, his optic adjusted rapidly as he leaned forward. His antennae pulled far back at the mere memory of his co-commander.
"I..."
He took a moment to formulate his response. "I suppose he would be lacking for options, with his reputation... Please, do tell me how it goes after the fact."
You receive your very first resume in the morning, almost as soon as the option is open. The position it's applying for is a... Soundwave Specialist?
The "experience" section lists the amount of time Soundwave and Shockwave have been together-- several vorns by now. -has collaborated with Soundwave on projects of varying complexity -has tolerated innumerable pranks from it and its symbiotes -has successfully communicated and navigated through various relationship obstacles with it. Skills: patience | attention to detail | advanced problem solving | symbiote handling | data cable navigation | lifting it with one arm
....It even has a cover letter attached to it! As evidenced by my resume, I have ample experience in management and cohabitation with Soundwave, leading me to believe I hold ample qualification for the title of Soundwave Specialist.
I thank you for your consideration, and hope to speak to you soon.

Soundwave sat back at its new desk, mere minutes before the firm opened. It let itself take a moment to bask in the morning light, to truly enjoy this new beginning. It ran a servo against the lip of the desk, watching as the clock on its terminal struck 0800.
A feeling of triumph sank into its processors. Soundwave had done it. It had opened its own cybersecurity firm. It had achieved this long standing dream, and it was all thanks to its incredible, insightful, intelligent, gorgeous conjunx.
Truly, Soundwave would not be here without Shockwave and his unshakable guidance.
As the clock ticked to 0801, a ping came from its terminal. A new customer? Already? The triumph gave way to excitement as it opened the message.
Strange... Instead of a customer consultation request, it was a fully completed resumé, cover letter and all. Soundwave knew that its recruiters were working hard, but to have something sent directly to it, this early on opening day? Well, they must have discovered something special...
Without wasting a moment, Soundwave opened the resumé file.
At first, it was confused. This was not what a cybersecurity resumé should look like. The font was all wrong, as was the color and- wait.
It leaned in a little closer to get a better look. Instead of "Cybersecurity Specialist" this resumé read "Soundwave Specialist". Soundwave squinted in suspicion.
It took its time reading over the document, suspicion giving way to satisfaction, then to an overwhelming feeling of love. Shockwave was not usually one for pranks; for him to pull one with this much effort and attention to detail put into it? Soundwave didn't have the words for how it felt.
Loved. Soundwave felt loved.
After taking a moment to gather itself, Soundwave printed off the two documents. It would have to get a frame for them at some point, but for now placing them on the wall with a clip will have to do. Its office was sparse with decoration for the moment, but the new addition already made the space feel like a home away from home.
At 0812, a response email was sent.
"Thank you for sending in your resumé.
Our recruitment team and head architect agree that you fill all of the requirements and criteria for the applied role of Soundwave Specialist. The head of the firm is inviting you to lunch for a more indepth interview about what this role will entail. It hopes to see you soon.

Shockwave observed the fueling before taking his own cube in hand. It wasn't a particularly novel view to him, but it wasn't one he tired of, either.
"But of course, even with all my qualifications, I would not be so foolish as to rush in without being prepared." He opened his own fueling port, located on the top of his chest, and delicately poured in some of the mixture. The chilled sting through his systems was a pleasant sensation, and while he lacked a sense of taste, he had found himself fond of this particular texture. As they shared a quiet moment of refueling, he let his posture relax fully. He set the half-consumed cube down for a moment, looking to his conjunx. "Has anything of interest transpired thus far?" He would hope for only mundane problems, but very rarely did the first day of anything go smoothly, no matter how prepared one would attempt to be.

Shockwave's door wings subtly lifted at his conjunx's response. While he hadn't been performing with the expectation of leading to such activities, he felt a stir in his spark at the implication. Truly, only Soundwave could do this to him.
He opened the container, cool air pouring out as it unfolded to reveal the cubes. "Bismuth with iron flakes for you," he gestured to the cube in question, "Zinc with copper shavings for myself. I hope you find this to be acceptable." Of course it would be, but he felt compelled to feign ignorance one last time before dropping the game.

Shockwave noted that the desk was functioning smoothly, as intended. He leaned forward slightly as it responded, and then leaned back, tapping the lower rim of his helm.
"I see. Your email seemed to imply that this would be a shared lunch, and I took it upon myself to presume that I would be the one providing. I will be certain to ask for further details in advance going forward, sir." His pede nudged Soundwave's gently, the fondness seeping into his baritone.
"But I do appear to be qualified, and I believe myself to be experienced. If you have a reliable means of testing for this, I am willing to comply." His helm tilted, antennae pointing outwards-- a sign of his relaxed, affectionate state.

Shockwave nodded cordially, making his way to it's desk. He barely gave his surroundings a glance-- he was familiar with much of it already, and couldn't help but to fixate on the appearance of his conjunx wreathed in the light of technology. As always, Soundwave was beautiful.
"It would be uncharacteristic of me to dare be tardy for someone so important, Mister Head Architect, Sir." Even someone unfamiliar with Shockwave's deadpan nature would be able to tell he was being wry. He sat down at the chair in front of the desk, setting the container between them. "A gift for us to share, if you'll allow it."

Shockwave left for his lunch break with a sense of elation. He greatly anticipated hearing about the events of his conjunx's opening day, his joke-resume aside.
It seemed as if it were only yesterday that the two of them started building from the ground up, scraping together remains from the war for the sake of having a shelter.
He was carrying a small tempersture-controlled container, which held two cubes: one of his favorite blend of energon, and one of Soundwave’s favorite blend.
His pace was steady as he walked in, telling the receptionist as seriously as possible that he had an interview.

What Shatters You?
betrayal.
you are so tired of giving your trust away, only to have it thrown back in your face... your heart has been broken, again and again, by those you've mistakenly believed in. "perhaps this time will be different", you say. my dear, it won't. your heart is too gullible for the cruel world around you

Hmm, is that why whenever Soundwave's around its scans show that the temperature around Shockwave's frame raises by a few degrees...
Indeed, this hypothesis must be tested at once.

hc + 🤝 for a headcanon about a connection with one of the receiver's mutual
[ @dailydoseoflogic ]
There are only two people who know Soundwave is mute.
One of them is Megatron. The other is Shockwave.
The Decepticon forces are under the impression that Soundwave has taken a vow of silence as a show of dedication to The Cause and Megatron himself. After all, the mech was never one for words in the first place; it is not a stretch for this lie to become truth. However, no matter how much one tries to obscure or cover the truth, it is still there.
Shockwave only knows of this fact due to his role as the performing surgeon for Soundwave's reformat. The reformat itself took place quickly after Ravage's death- the twins and Buzzsaw had died before her. Laserbeak was the only symbiote left, and Soundwave's forged frame was deemed unsuitable for its duties, along with being too resource intensive. Soundwave no longer needed to keep five other minimechs alive- there was only one left.
The lack of input from Soundwave regarding its new frame left Shockwave to his own devices. The way that Megatron would speak for Soundwave during consultations was suspicious. The "vow of silence" narrative had not been formed just yet. Soundwave believed that it would be able to speak soon enough, but every time it tried nothing came out.
Shockwave, being the same kind of creative thinker who can put two and four together, came to the conclusion that it was suffering from an emotional co-processor breakdown and offered to replace the equipment. Megatron adamantly refused for Soundwave, though it is unclear if this was also Soundwave's wish. Either way, the immediate treatment, no matter how crude or direct, was refused, and Soundwave remained mute.
The reformatting surgery took place mere weeks before the Decepticons were to leave the planet. While Shockwave finds this new frame aesthetically pleasing, Soundwave holds no emotion towards it. The process happened as it was grappling with the intense grief of a host losing their symbiotes, and it could not spare any feelings towards having lost its forged frame as well. This remains true to this day.

do you like begin in relationship? if yes what kind of relationships you want? what gender you like more?
if no why? is there a reason? have you been in one before?
It appears I have finally come upon more time to address the inquiries waiting in my ask box...
I find your questions to be concerningly vague, anon. Do I "like" being in relationships? You say this as if it is possible to avoid all forms of social entanglement. Do I "like" requiring energon for fuel? It would be convenient if I did not have to use such an uncommon power source to continue functioning, but I have no choice in the matter.
...I understand you intend to imply something of a more romantic nature.
First, I must stress that the human definition of "gender " does not strictly apply to us in the manner that you may presume. Out of the thirteen "genders", as defined by the templates of the thirteen primes, I have no particular preference in terms of the company I keep. I primarily judge others based on their ability to engage in conversations that are within my interests.
Second, due to a lack of practical experience, I have yet to develop an opinion of what "kind" of relationship I would find preferable. I am under the impression that I would not make for a particularly caring romantic partner, as I find most romantic rituals to be inconvenient, at best. However... If someone worthy were to approach me with an offer without demanding that I stray far from my research, I would take the time to evaluate the matter.
As for if I have been in one before...
...
No. I was too young at the time. We were merely friends.

As with Soundwave, the questions on this quiz were hard to answer honestly. My level of "kindness" is highly dependent on what may be gained... A better term for it may be "politeness".
As for "happiness"... I will not deny being satisfied with my lot. I do not have a need for envy at this point in time.
