For the Ones Who Think Their Art Doesn’t Matter

You are not invisible.

Your art is not forgettable.

Every line, every word, every color you leave behind

is carried by someone who needed it more than you’ll ever know.

I was once a quiet child who could not find the right words,

so I drew them instead—

a house made of shapes,

a sun in the corner,

a little girl with pigtails who missed her home.

I gave it to her.

Fifteen years later she told me she still had it,

that it helped her survive the loneliness.

I was once a teenager who filled notebook pages

with crooked hearts and warriors in anime poses,

letters folded like paper wings.

I thought they were silly.

They thought they were priceless.

Years later they showed me,

still tucked in drawers,

still cherished like pressed flowers.

I drew my friends.

I drew the boy who made me laugh,

the girl who didn’t know she was beautiful,

the one I loved before I even knew his name.

I drew my teachers—

their favorite books, their heroes, their humor.

They saved my sketches,

not as assignments,

but as proof they had been seen.

And this is the truth I’ve learned:

your art always matters.

It outlives the moment.

It weaves itself into memory,

into the story someone tells years later

about the time they felt noticed,

the time they felt less alone.

So when you think no one saw—

someone did.

When you think no one kept it—

they did.

When you think it was nothing—

it was everything.

Your art is the proof.

The proof that you were here.

The proof that you loved.

The proof that someone, somewhere,

still carries you in the palm of their hand.

Moonbows
