I’m done with this post. I’m not going to delete it so people can read it and learn. but I’m done. i wasn’t speaking for a different culture but you can all think what you want. i wanted to try and spread some positivity and explain how we as a fandom should work together and educate rather than send hate. but that will never work. people will never unite for long and the world will burn because of the divide. i’ve accepted it, my whole world has been divided by race and cultures, i’ve never been living in just one culture, so i should have known that the whole world was the same.
Chans Hair.
I’ve done my research and here I am. If you don’t like it, ignore it. Now I’ll say up front that I’m not black and I am Korean and live in the United States.
BRAIDS AREN’T OWNED BY A RACE.
HAIRSTYLES AREN’T OWNED BY A RACE.
I know that certain races go through shit because of dumb things like their hair and I understand that however, hair is hair and you can do whatever you want with it. Asians have been braiding their hair in different styles since ancient times (i know it’s different styles but they have been doing braids since before they knew anyone else), before they’ve had any contact with other cultures. I know times have changed from ancient times and if Chan just likes the hair then it’s fine, you shouldn’t be constrained to certain hairstyles because of your race. Especially if it can be traced back in said culture.
People want to unite people but how can that happen if you’re going to fight over HAIR. You can only unite people if you understand each other. Understand it’s hair and that it’s okay to teach people about experiences that people have been through because of their experiences, but hair isn’t cultural appropriation it’s more appreciation if there isn’t intent to hurt someone.
Cultural appropriation is more like people wearing blackface, Native American costumes for Halloween, things like that. But for hair, it’s usually because it’s something someone wants to do because they’re interested in it, it works with their hair type, something like that. People want to appreciate culture and can’t because of the constant hate.
I can’t change how you feel on the issue, and as an Asian I don’t understand your experiences. However, as a Korean with Korea becoming more popular, people who are starting to learn Korean, try Korean food, people who visit and wear Hanbok and things like that, I love seeing that. But people have to understand that Asian’s also get hate to that people don’t understand. But it’s still uniting people and I think that over powers the hate, people because the people who really care and want to learn will take the time to learn and understand.
HAIR IS HAIR.
LET’S NOT FIGHT AND ARGUE AND SEND HATE. LET’S INSTEAD APPRECIATE.
it’s okay to teach, it’s not okay to hate. but you also have to understand that people can appreciate things from other cultures without having to explain that they know everything about said culture.

@tsujiibooty you’re right. and I’m dont responding i have a lot of home work for Jim Crow to Black Power class to do. and it did take a way a lot of your credibility when you started off by calling me a bitch. luckily that’s not even close to the worse thing i’ve been called, but dumb did hurt. but whatever, a majority of people hate me. i understand your points but the way you started by yelling at me took away a lot of what you had to say. it overpowered a lot.

@tsujiibooty pease listen to me. like actually read what I’m saying and try to open your mind just like a little. i never said get over it. i understand. i said it’s worse because THE POINT OF MY POST WAS TO SPREAD POSITIVITY AND EDUCATE NOT TO HATE AND JUST CANCEL SKZ. yet you come in calling me a bitch and dumb, like that’s the total opposite. if you want to have people hear you and understand you, don’t swear. in an argument or debate if you start off by swearing or start swearing it gives off the appearance that you’re uneducated on the topic or have no facts to back it up. which i know is untrue but it’s just how it is, that’s how people react to having someone swear in a conversation. so understand that i never said to dismiss it, i said to educate him. i said i understand the problems people go through because of their hair and the style but other people can wear it too if they aren’t using it as a costume or to directly hurt someone, if he or anyone likes it, take it as a compliment that after years and years of hate and ridicule which still goes on, people are starting to finally notice your natural beauty. that’s the message i was sending. but calling me a bitch and dumb was uncalled for, because you never know who you’re actually talking too and what they’re going through. i just wanted to spread some sense and positivity and an educated way t go about this. but once again, the internet has proven to me that people will always be divided and we will never unite. i know that first hand but didn’t want to believe it, but it’s been proven time and time again.

@tsujiibooty okay so, i know they have a prominent history in black culture but they aren’t owned by a culture because you can’t own a hairstyle. i understand the shit people go through because of them and it’s not right however, if people in other cultures are willing to do that to their hair then it’s on them. all people have different hair textures. it’s not a costume and i did say that, if you’re wearing HAIR because you like a style it’s not a costume. just like straightening your hair isnt to make someone like a white person, it’s because they like the style. i study in college african and latino studies as a part of my major and i do understand, but everyone needs to understand that people can do what they want to their hair, and that owning hair styles only divides cultures and people. but that is what america is all about. i never said we were turning our cheek and you’re right all minorities have struggles people will never fucking understand especially if you’re surrounded by people who will never look like you. but enough about me. we aren’t looking away, i said to educate and not spread hate, but also to understand that it’s hair and someone can’t own hair. yelling and hating on people makes you no better and if possible even worse because you just start swearing and calling people dumb.

Woah the last OT7 NCT DREAM concert ?
I feel so sad, even though i know they’re in the same group but with all the comebacks and practice i don’t think they’ll see eachother a lot. Maybe when they have rest time. Next comeback will probably feel so weird without Mark i guess but he’s too overworked (same with Donghyuck, but atleast we still have MarkHyuck in the same unit). But i wish i could’ve been to an OT7 concert before this could happen… smtown doesn’t know what The Netherlands is apparently. This is the saddest “yo dream” ever. They better do the loudest “yo dream” at exactly 00:00, the last day of December, first day of January to start the next year right. I shouldn’t be making such a big deal out of this but my heart hurts knowing i’ll never be able to see NCT Dream as ot7 perform live. Anyways it must be hard for them too? NCT Dream is THE unit. (I love NCT as a whole too don’t worry). And the fact that ‘00 line is gonna graduate next year, oh god… please not yet. They’re growing so fast. Please stay young for a while still. I love you guys so much. Please rest enough, stay hydrated and eat well my smol bois.
[and also, apparently Jeno said the yo dream fyi].

can you imagine the car ride home from the last dream show…
probably full of laughter and more dumb jokes until they pass the familiar streets that signify pretty much half way to the dorms, then it gets super quiet.
partially because everyone’s tired but mostly because it’s the end; the last time anything like this will ever happen. and it’s weird because they’ve already cried on stage, probably cried a little bit more backstage, but weird because.. they kind of want to cry more.
there’s probably some secret glances to their former leader, but marks not crying, he looks fine. the apples of his cheeks still high in a sweet smile. a bittersweet smile. then an emptiness in the pit of their stomachs at the thought of having no one to look to, no more of these automatic glances for help at mark.
this realisation being kind of funny actually, because now they have to turn to renjun or jeno, and even saying that out loud sounds like a dumb (as in ridiculously funny dumb) idea. both the oldest probably think it’s so dumb for silly little reasons. but never say out loud that it’s because they don’t really feel ready yet. plus, how could they ever fill in marks shoes? a concerning question blinking in the back of their minds for a while now
donghyuck knows he’ll see mark the most after this, but he doesn’t care because it’s not the same, not that it feels wrong, but rather so different. and not particularly a good kind of different. jaemin probably doesn’t like the thought of no longer giving mark the love he pretends to hate, the love that he knows mark secretly finds endearing but most importantly secretly needs. chenle knows that he’s not losing family, but it definitely feels like it. he probably tries his best for it not to show, because hey, he’s still got five more brothers, right? jisung is worried more than anything, because this is only the start for him. he wonders whether it’s going to hurt this much, every time he watches one of his older brothers leave
“hey kids,” mark tries to laugh a little, “why is it so quiet?”
it’s cute when they all turn to look at him like puppies, but also funny because mark genuinely thinks that’s the first time they’ve actually stopped to listen to him properly
mark definitely tries to not see this as an end. he doesn’t want it to seem like they’re departing ways. because technically they aren’t. maybe as ‘nct dream’ they are, but as friends and as family they, beyond any doubt, aren’t. and that’s enough for mark to think everything will be okay.
mark really believes in them. so even with the pain in his chest, he tries his best not to show signs of sadness. it isn’t the end! mark wants to think.
but why does it feel like it?

Okay so now that it’s official that E'dawn left Cube I hope you all:
Don’t stop supporting him in his solo career.
Don’t stop supporting Pentagon because they are suffering this as much as us or even more.
Don’t send hate to Dawn, Hyuna or Pentagon because I’ll fucking find you and fight the hell out of you.
That’s all. I hope the best for all of them and Cube can rot in hell.
