     she sighed as she looked up from the task she’d assigned herself to save her brain from an overdose of boredom. picking up the bottle, she turned to get east access to heather’s hand. taking it carefully, she set to work.     “you know i’m not that good with this stuff. it would honestly come out better if you did it, even if it’s not as good as your right.”

     keeping her right hand under the fan, heather settled down in her seat so that veronica would have an easier time painting her nails. if she didn’t think she was the best, it was fair not to make it harder than necessary.

     a bright pink was swept onto her nails, careful of the edges as cyndi lauper rang out over her radio. once all the nails on her right hand were painted and set in front of her fan to let dry, the bottle was passed down the table to get veronica’s attention from the book of cd’s that was splayed out.
