No More Zero Comments Project

Hi! Here's a big masterpost for everything you need to know about this project!

The No More Zero Comments (NM0C) Project is dedicated to reducing the number of fics on AO3 with no comments. This is a multifandom community effort with very few rules which you can very easily undertake alone, but hey, why not join us?

The goal is simple: find fics with no comments, read them and leave the author a comment. If you want, you can go out and find fics on your own, but we also have a handy spreadsheet full of fics for you to browse!

You can find the spreadsheet here. There are tonnes of different fandoms to choose from. It will be updated regularly with new fics, so check back as often as you like.

Do you have a fic with zero comments? You can submit it here to be added to the spreadsheet. There is no limit to how many you can submit, and no limits on what you can submit. Any fandom, any category, any rating, no matter how old it is. Yes, even explicit fics. We aren't picky around here. You can also submit other people's fics if you wish.

All I ask is, if you submit your own fics, try and comment on some too! Balance, equality, etc.

The only real rule for submissions is no AI. This blog is vehemently anti-AI and will not accept any fics that use it. EDIT 16/06/25: There are now two more rules - no Harry Potter fics (fuck jkr) and no fics less than a week old.

If you read a fic from the spreadsheet, please let me know here so I can remove the fic from the spreadsheet. If you see a fic on the spreadsheet that has a comment, don't fret. I'll get around to removing it soon. Admin's timezone is GMT and I'm most active in the evenings.

Who runs this blog?

That'd be me, Izak, better known as @lightningzombie! I run this blog alone for now. And yes, I did put my own fics into the spreadsheet. I put it up to a vote and people said I could!

Why did you decide to do this?

Frustration with the lack of comments on my fics and the death of comment culture in general. Bewilderment when I saw a fic that had 1200 kudos and no comments. The joy that leaving 100 comments and receiving 20+ during the Febuwhump commentfest brought me. Boredom. Many reasons!

Is there a prize/competition?

Nope! No incentives whatsoever. Just the joy of fan fiction, of commenting, and community spirit.

Will you do events?

Yes, I plan to! I'm not sure what yet, though.

"I don't know how to comment!"

Yes, you do. "I like this" is a comment. "How dare you do that to [insert blorbo here]" is a comment. "<3" is a comment. "KAJSDAKSDHJ WHYYYYY????" is a comment. "I am rapidly approaching your location" is a comment. Just be kind!

How long will it take me to get a comment?

Dunno. Some people get them within minutes, some hours, some days. Depends on many things. Be patient!

I submitted something but it hasn't been added or removed

I run this blog and the spreadsheet completely alone and manually. Any submissions will be handled as and when i have time. Be patient with me, I'll get to it!

Instead of the free-for-all scepter trials, in the AU they're more regulated as a game tournament to become the next Primus (person in charge of all magic), complete with the usual trials and deadly booby traps (at least in the games you won't ACTUALLY die, but..). Got a classic walls closing in forced to be physically close enemies to lovers trope lol

They end up having to work together and learning just a little bit more about each other and realize their goals aren't all that different and see things in a different light, but not after getting uncomfortably physically close in a closed space lol

Was something I started thinking "I'm gonna just do a quick sketch" and then it wasn't.

Still been trying to get comfortable drawing his bigger form but then keep doing sweet pics like this where he's being all soft, but I can't help being a sucker for that kind of content!! Normally he has his flames in this form, but think when he really is more calm it goes out more and steams out, like pictured here.

In the AU we have Jayce was in a shady prison for a several months before he was inevitably locked in a soul box for 5 years (where he's basically forced into cyrosleep). Prison was where his demon change started first happening and he was generally messed with a lot and often had to assert his dominance over the other inmates until they stopped. Eventually something comes up and he finally attempts a breakout that gets messy, for him and the others. His horn gets broken off and it's what sets off his first extreme transformation into his bigger form, which he didn't know he could do lol The breakout attempt ends with him getting dragged by magic into the soul box unfortunately...

Part of the reason he fought so hard to get out was bc his little sister didn't know where he would be and would be alone, but sadly that ends up happening anyway. :(

I haven't posted art in a while again but I should!! (I've just had a rough couple weeks health wise and kind of dropped off the computer in that time, oof)

I really haven't posted any pics of Jayce and his wings, so I finally did one that I'm able to post hajksdfs Was trying to think of his flight gear he might wear and think he has his monster feet out for flight so he can land better. Thought he might just wear his motorcycle helmet and zip up the jacket for that as well, but idk, thought I'd try goggles?

The wings he can form when needed and needed to charm some clothes and shoes to also accommodate that as well lol

One I did recently still trying out his full demon design (or at least a sort of midway of it where he’s not going bonkers) and when I realized the fire hair, Slaps Actually. I ended up also going with a fire mane after this and that slaps too lol
