In honor of National Coming Out Day, I'm coming out again. Im Gay! When I first came out to my family I was so blessed to have them support me. They didnt care who I love as long as I am happy. I have never told anyone else this except for closest friends but I was always scared to tell my little brother. No matter how many fights we got into growing up we were close since day one. When I finally told him, his exact words were "I will still love you no matter who you love, we are family, you are my brother and you know that" when I heard those words I could not speak because i was crying. I was fortunate to have family who support me no matter what and I know not everyone has that. A lot of people are still very close minded and will disown their loved one because they are not what society has portrayed what the "norm" is. As a community we still have a lot of growing to do, but we will always support one another. So to everyone who is coming out today or any other day, just know that when your real family won't be there for you, you'll always have your community.
