no what i love about clea. she's powerful. very decisive. that's all due to being faltine and from the dark dimension and she has her own responsibilties and she does them; but she additionally sees several of earth's sorcerer supreme duties as lesser; such as being liasion with the avengers. it is so funny. has implied them to be chores than big items to worry about. no, like she'll save earth and help people and do a lot, but she's not of earth, her reasoning for protecting it as fiercely as it does is due to stephen strange. whether they are romantic or platonic.

now she has other reasons, but the most important is that stephen loves earth and so she will do what she can as a sorcerer, like she takes up being warlord of manhattan because Clea understands power. She understands power struggles. Territory. Her naming herself Warlord is giving Earth, New York City, an additional protection. It is hers now; thus any invasion on that is a slight to her, and thus she can go total Faltine in her retaliation and defense.

addtionally, she still has duties of maintaining the Dark Dimension, now while she does this distantly and from Earth; that is her first duty and priority as she remains Sorcerer Supreme there; which is another strategic move on her party that further protects earth and keeps a check and balances between dimensions. But if both a threat to Earth or Dark Dimension came at once, Dark Dimension would have to come first UNLESS there was an agreement/promise that whoever is asking for her help, is going to come help the Dark Dimension immediately after given she is putting Earth first upon being asked of her.

Full headcanon post coming later, but I am reading/ finished Clea's original appearance in Strange Tales 1950s, and now moved onto Doctor Steange 1960s; for all Clea content.

She goes through some shit, and like essentially being exiled to Earth is hard for her. It's a huge shock to her literal everything. Culturally, physically, everything is different about Earth.

She's never walked on solid ground before, and at the time of her appearing on Earth; New York wasn't used to superheroes and mystic arts being common on the street. She very much had to learn to act and be as human as possible.

So like she definitely had days of not knowing what to do with herself because walking was physically exhausting where as in the Dark Dimension she could be pure energy and float everywhere freely; while on Earth she always had to walk and be human even though she isn't, and be phsycial matter.

She gets herself and Stephen into trouble because she casts magic and lashes out at some men harassing the two of them while they walk. Cause culturally, that's just how things are in the Dark Dimension. Something wrongs you, you punish it.

I'll go deeper into this and her as a Dark Dimesion native and Faltine hybrid, and how much it takes for her to really adapt and blend in with Earth humans and Earth magic and everything, later but in my intital readings this is the thought I had.

More thoughts on Clea adjusting to Earth that I'll clean up later.

On top of the whole walking thing, Earth has constant gravity while the Dark Dimension does not. So Clea has to adjust to feeling weight of things, feeling the force of gravity pulling her down and that's so exhausting.

Along with that, you know how astronauts or people who work in zero gravity get used to things just floating around them while they leave them be? Yeah. Clea experiences that and deals with that.

She actually gets so mad about gravity some days, especially when she's trying to adjust to limited magic usage. Like she'll be doing something, multitasking, studying and set something down and be frustrated it's dropped to the ground.

Additionally, faltine are pure magic and energy entities; she will always get struggle with some hunger and burning her energy as well as pent up energy, giving the limitations and rhe early years where she had to conceal magic use or who/what she is.

There's definitely days where she's just lounged on the couch in the Sanctum or at her apartment, in bed, cause gravity is too heavy, walking is exhausting, pent up energy is exhausting to combat, she's hungry. Eventually Clea does adjust, and when her being Faltine and magic use is no longer needed to be concealed; she's much more adapted and human passing, and she does find things about Earth she likes.

clea! how hard is magic? and how do you even remember all those spells it seems hard

❝ I'm not the best person to ask for this. ❞ That she had learned the tough way when Stephen had asked her to teach some lessons at the Strange Academy. ❝ In terms of how hard magic is, there's different kinds. I am a being of pure magic and energy, so innately, it's eaiser than breathing. ❞

❝ Earth magic for me; that was hard at first when I came here, there's differences in the source and energy of where magic comes from between Earth, the Dark Dimension, and the home dimension of the Faltines. ❞ The Dark Dimension and the home dimension of the Faltines had similar energies, came from similar places whereas Earth's source was different. Stephen had been her mentor and master for a reason, he's why she understands Earth magic so well now.

❝ It's different for everyone. Earth magic's easy for me now, but it took a lot of studying and hard work to get to the point its as easy as Faltinian magic or manipulating the force of the Dark Dimension waas for me. ❞

So if anyone is interested in shipping with Clea; let me know, cause yah but point i was making...

In her general default of my portrayal; whether I write her, assuming she's wwith Stephen (my own invnted version of him; not specific to anyone) or that she is simply a resident of the Sanctum, along with having her own little apartment in New York; as Clea remotely is the Dark Dimension's Sorcerer Supreme (although she's there often enough as well) she has does take seriously the title and duty of being Warlord of Manhattan.

Now the point that I was making; Stephen Strange will always be important to Clea; and I will reference him and treat him as an NPC on writing here; along with Wong and other frequent characters tied to the Sanctum. So that's simply how I write, and it's not pushing anything and I'll bounce between either present canon; The Stranges are together, or they aren't, but they always platonically very close.

Additionally, I am working on how I wanna go about; but generally, I will have Clea taking on raising her baby sister whom she will name Donna. Since this does go well with the kind of adapted/reimagined origin story that I've written/worked on for Clea.

From matter to energy, her state of being changes. IGNITES into flame, into the true form of what she was; FALTINE. She lefts her form burn, bright and colorful energy fire. ❝ Isn't it obvious? FLAMES OF THE FALINE! ❞ A spell from her kind, while it would never burn as hot and right for any other sorcere compared to when a Faltine, who was pure magic; who was flame themself.

Her form changes back, back to flesh and bone, solid matter. The sorceress smiles because there was another on, of her own crafting. Highl magical theory, very powerful. ❝ Or Clea's Chiming Bells! Fantastic for summoning the likes of forgetful sorercers. ❞ She's really proud of that one and its uses; often inflicted upon Stephen the most, but Wong and a select others were victim too. It probably had a technical use to make enemies have a severe headcanon or something. She normally just banished foes though.

I've decided that for my take on Clea; she's fully a Faltine, not a hybrid, but being the first Faltine born outside of the Faltine home universe; there's several unique qualities as being an infant flame she adapted and took on characterisitics of the Dark Dimenion from where she spawned from Umar there.

Now her father does appear in canon is her father, in the sense, that this Dark Dimension inhabitant is whom Umar had left Clea to be in care of; and Clea very much took to calling him father and recognizes him as such, especially since neither he, Dormammu, nor Umar would tell the young Clea of her true kind or parentage. He would be whom taught her to master magic in the Dark Dimension and contributes to Clea's uniqueness.

Now let's get an idea of what the Faltine are.

The Faltine, or Faltinians, are extra-dimensional energy beings born from pure magic. They exist in a realm of their own, a very old and very dense universe that is also known as the Faltine.

The home of the Faltine is not easily visiting by any mortal or matter based given the very climate of the universe is full of colorful, potent energy. So, for example, human sorcerers would only be able to withstand being there for very limited time, less than an hour, and not without shields and spellwork protections in place. It's an absolutely beautiful realm to witness, but for many it would find their mind's breaking from the sight of such place of pure energy.

Faltine are energy based beings, of whom, primarily only consume energy and the consumption of matter is considered an obscene perversion.

Umar and Dormammu were scions of the Faltine, Sinifer. Most Faltine are spawnedd as copies of their progenitor. Umar and Dormammu were twin scions, already unique by that, and were further unique for desiring material form, for matter and material had its own powers, the twins desired such power for themselves. This put them as outcasts, for consuming material and matter. As a result, their progenitor tried to consume them, but Umar and Dormammu transmuted Sinifer to matter and thus killed him and consumed him.

They were pushed out by the rest of Faltine from the Faltine universe; which is how they got to thee Dark Dimension (which I will get to into in another post about the dimension and its functions later).

Being banished from their own dimension, Umar and Dormammy moved through dimensions, consuming what they could until they came upon the Dark Dimension. It was here, they would encounter the ruling social class, the Mhuruuks, whom were a group of wizards. Olnar, the wizard-king and ruler of the Dark Dimension, which was presently a smaller size than when Doctor Strange would ecounter it.

Olnar desired conquest and warfare, which was familiar to Umar and Dormammu who fed the wizard-king's desires and taught him used to him for their own conquests, teaching how to take other dimensions andd bond them to his own. This is how the Dark Dimension grew as it was known today.

Divergent from her comic canon; Clea was spawned of stored energy from Umar, while the Twin Scions were in the process of fleeing the Faltine universe; stolen energy of the dimension. While Umar and Dormammu were conquesting with Olnar, this is when Umar would leave her spawnling, the little flame that would be Clea, was left to the tending of care of Orini, whom was the son of Olnar, and a disciple of Dormammu. It was under his tending, though he often left her alone so that he may serve Dormammu, that Clea would grow and know that she was not born of the Dark Dimension, but of the Faltine. It is how Clea would learn to be material, to take on human like features and forms.

Due to her being Faltine, but a mutate of a Faltine of whom had began to consume material/matter (Umar); when she transitioned from exisiting in the Dark Dimension which was alike enough to the Faltine universe, living on Earth is a major change for her entire being, and she was very weak, gravity weighed her own, as Faltine do not exist in place of gravity and Dark Dimension is already of low gravity dimenssion itself.

So going from that, I'll go into a Dark Dimension lore/history and post, more on Clea there, aand then Clea, her power, and Earth later; versuss where she was when she began and where she is now; and how much more powerful she could be. Just asume that Clea, already extremely powrful, is operating under what she has potential for (if she consumed enough energy and material). As well make a post as about her true/Faltinian form.

There's a sigh at the pesky shade that's wander its way past the wards and into the sanctum. No doubt tracked in from Stephen's trip to the graveyard upon the request that something unusual was happening there. It's been here for three days now of the uninvited guest of whom she has not been given permission send the wisp away. Now it has become so comfortable and bold in her home to make observations about her relationship with Stephen Strange.

The faltine is a woman who takes what she wants, and she so does want Stephen Strange. However be that as it were, there is something fun about teasing the man. Testing his boundaries and willpower, she wants to cave so badly. She wants HIM to cave so badly that so she could meet him with twice the intensity of whatever he gives her.

And yet here they are with a faceless apparition, ❝ See that would require for @timeisbrain to do more than stare, wave, and make three sounds. ❞

Because the Sorcerer Supreme and Warlord of Manhattan does not let anyone, even Death, tell her whom she may and may not touch.

this is a sideblog to my clint barton muse. mutuals are not required with clint. especially considering i have exclusives with clint that may not translate to my sideblogs.

activity will always be slow as writing is a hobby for me that ebs and flows, muse will strike me at times and i go where my greatest interest is at writing at the time; it's why i have multiple muses because i have a great passion for exploring a lot of things and want the flexibility and freedom to enjoy this hobby and enjoy writing my greatest interests at the time.

i am not mcu-knowledgable and normally mcu compliant. my preference for canon sources tends to be the comics and video games. this does not mean however i won't write with mcu muses, this simply means i tend to base things with 616 comic knowledge and don't follow the events of the mcu or even know what's what anymore.
