R&D ENGINEER (ST. PETERSBURG, FL)
OVERVIEW
Global manufacturer of advanced laminates and coated films for the safety, security and energy markets has this immediate need.
Assist in development and scaling up of existing, new and improved products. Serve as a liaison between R&D and manufacturing.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Assist in development of new/improved products by sourcing new materials, making/testing sample constructions in the laboratory, arranging/overseeing production trials, quantifying performance properties, and by establishing robust production processes
Analyze the properties of films/chemicals in order to assist with quality control, troubleshooting, creation of performance property data sheets, competitor film analysis, and other general purposes
Assist in identification/evaluation/qualification of alternative, new, and improved raw materials
Generate ideas for new products/processes
Provide technical support to production operations and oversee production trials
Provide technical support to the Sales and Marketing departments
Assist specifying coating formulations & ensuring formulas/process conditions are correctly specified
Identify/obtain/evaluate alternative raw materials and product constructions that will offer benefits such as improved performance, better appearance, lower cost, or a viable second source
Initiate/manage R&D projects which can be comprised of interdepartmental members
Enhance knowledge base through seminars/workshops/other industry-oriented technical offerings
Follow/support all company policies, including promotion of safety throughout company
Help achieve company Quality Policy and Integrated Systems Management goals and support the maintenance of the ISO process while performing duties
Stay current on all required Environmental Health and Safety training
QUALITY SYSTEMS RESPONSIBILITIES
Participate/assist in identifying how the work that you do that affects the quality, or impacts the environmental aspects of the products or services we provide to customer(s)
Write procedures or work instructions that describe your work
Provide input and verify that documented procedures are adequate and accurate
Keep records and data
Participate in internal audits, ongoing process improvement, external registration and surveillance audits
REQUIREMENTS
M.S. in Chemical Engineering/Chemistry preferred, or BS Chemistry/Chemical Engineering and 10+ years in an R&D/manufacturing lab environment, related to chemistry, materials, and/or polymers
Knowledge of roll-to-toll manufacturing
Working knowledge/experience with testing techniques appropriate to polymer films, adhesives, and organic coatings, such as measurement of tensile properties, thermal properties, weathering properties, optical properties, adhesive and cohesive properties, and UV-cured coating properties
Ability to work under minimal or no supervision
Advanced understanding of concepts theory and functions of equipment/manufacturing processes
Effective verbal and written communication skills
Ability to read and interpret documents (standards, rules, instructions, manuals)
Good mechanical aptitude
Basic understanding of Design of Experiments, Project Management, Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma, to follow a scientific method, to analyze results
Ability to write coherent informative reports and presentations
Ability to travel up to 20%

QUALITY ENGINEER - AEROSPACE (HOPKINTON, MA)
Aerospace industry leader in the design and manufacture of engineered solutions for the control of shock and vibration has this immediate need!
RESPONSIBILITIES
Perform as technical liaison with production planning, operations and engineering personnel on all quality related topics (inspection, testing, non-conformities management, manufacturing process PAR and CAR, etc.)
Support the planning and the design of quality control inside manufacturing processes, as part of the project team, and following APQP principles if requested
Maximize efficiency by analyzing quality issues / data / results, propose improvements
Review/implement proposed and processed engineering changes and/or other specification requirements from a quality point of view
Assist in the management of MRB process with engineering and production, ensure a quick and controlled disposition of all non-conform materials
Review/manage customer CAR’s, publish and managed quality alerts and coordinate containment activities on the floor in conjunction with the production management
Implement quality improvements to reduce non conformities in our manufacturing processes (application of SPC principles, mistake proofing, quality training, self-inspection)
Support the training of all floor operators on inspection, quality principles, quality control
Validate all quality related floor instructions (i.e. visual criteria, limit samples)
Coordinate all source inspections activities, ensure appropriate scheduling with customer service
Provide direction and support to the inspection team as needed.
REQUIREMENTS
BS in an engineering discipline with experience in a mechanical manufacturing environment, or a combination of experience and/or education to meet the responsibilities of the position
Knowledge of quality systems certifications. i.e. to IATF16949, AS9100 and ISO9001
Thorough knowledge/understanding of quality tools (FAI, Control Plans, PPAP, SPC, PFMEA, APQP, MSA)
Understanding of Corrective/Preventative Actions, statistical and other quality tools
The following certificates are desirable: CQM, CQE, or CQA
Must be a proactive problem-solver with an understanding of problem solving tools
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Previous experience with rubber or plastics and machining manufacturing helpful
Must be a US Citizen

DIRECTOR OF BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT-MEDICAL ADHESIVES (REMOTE)
OVERVIEW
Global manufacturer of adhesives/coatings/oligomers/related equipment has this immediate need! Responsible for the global growth of revenue in Dymax’ medical business unit. The creation and execution of the medical market’s strategic plan, inclusive of driving increasing profitability year over year, filling the development pipeline with projects that align with the segments chosen.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Lead business development activities with Business Development Managers, Product Line Managers, Global Strategic Account Managers, Regional sales, application engineers and R&D, across the globe to penetrate assigned markets.
Monitor market trends and identify focus areas to bring quick wins and highest return on investments, ensure best fit and alignment between customer expectations and the Company’s technical and service capabilities. Create and maintain metrics to rank projects and allocate resources accordingly.
Provide market insights to the Senior Leadership Team about competitive landscape, customer needs, technology trends and generate product development initiatives with clear value propositions to target selected opportunities. Identify new markets segments/market adjacencies, create business cases, and provide recommendations for Go / No-Go decisions with financial justification.
In conjunction with Company regional sales teams and internal resources, execute on account strategies, annual sales plans, and revenue budgets that are aligned with Strategic Account opportunities and Company’s strategic sales objectives to achieve targeted YOY growth.
Develop deep multi-level and multi-functional relationships at customer’s HQ, design centers and at key regional manufacturing locations, as well as with their contract manufacturers and machine builders. Determine key influences for qualification/specification and purchasing decisions related to Company product offerings.
Monitor sales pipeline as well as drive key initiatives to increase pipeline value by launching new products, winning new applications and/or locations for deeper account penetration and sales growth.
Drive qualification or specification wins for Company products that enable or drive their use at customers’ direct or contracted manufacturing locations.
Capture competitive intelligence and provide information to Company main departments and Senior Leadership on a regular basis.
Deliver periodic, current-year global sales forecasts and sales plans by strategic account.
Develop, communicate, and coordinate local and global pricing strategies and actions.
Utilize professional selling skills set, including Account Planning, Personal Selling skills, Consultative Solution selling and Value-Added selling.
Exhibit consistent, professional, and ethical behavior.
Significant travel (up to 50%) to customer headquarters, design facilities, and manufacturing locations, as well as related industry events and company events, as demanded by the business.
REQUIREMENTS
Advanced degree in Chemistry, Engineering or related disciplines; MBA preferred.
Minimum of 10 years of successful B2B direct commercial leadership at large accounts in a technical industry. International B2B experience and experience in specialty materials sales strongly desired.
Established set of professional leadership skills, inclusive of strategic planning, sales leadership, and product line oversight.
Self-motivated, energetic performer with solid analytical, planning, communication, and computer skills.
