PIMG “You Are Here - Houseguest Residency” Documentation, HD video documentation of Houseguest Residency Progam, 2017.

“Houseguest activated Pioneer Courthouse Square with its fourth Artist in Residence of the 2016-2017 season. Portland Immersive Media Group (P.I.M.G.) exhibited “You Are Here,” an immersive and interactive virtual reality experience and physical installation May 26-28, 2017.

During the weekend, visitors to Pioneer Courthouse Square interacted with Virtual Reality (VR) through multiple experiences. Audiences traversed the physical and digital world through 

“Liminal Passage,” experienced an idealized digital version of Pioneer Courthouse Square in VR, escaped to anywhere in the world through Google Earth VR, and were transported by several experimental performances throughout the weekend.”

This video has previously aired on Open Signal’s cable-access channels in the Portland Metro Area and has been exhibited at Open Signal. https://www.opensignalpdx.org/

In June of 2017 I was able to remix some Portland Immersive Media Group’s video catalog material while at my Artist Residency Program at SignalCulture.org in Owego, NY. While there I was able to achieve this composition through utilizing 2 playback playback computers simultaneously running a random-video-loader Max / MSP / Jitter patch, the Signal Culture modular system, switcher, and random setting on a Videonics mixer.

An agoraphobic former soap star hides from her past and present in “Angie,” the first installment of the film series Cathedral Park. A story told in ten standalone parts, the films individually introduce the residents of a Pacific Northwest town and the mysterious park that exerts its psychic influence over each of them.

RealVirtual_IKEA "BorgTV Promo" Open Signal, Max/MSP/Jitter processed video, 2017.

As a member of the international collective RealVirtual_IKEA, I seek to use non-authorship, cybersquatted web domains, webVR, chatbots, and post-dance in order to chart new terrain in the media of Net Art.

The group includes immersive media artist DaVideo Tape, composer/ conceptualist Matthew Gantt, dance scholar/choreographer Lindsey Drury, and dance artist/performer Gabriel Lukeris. All collaborators involved in the project have ventured beyond their zones of expertise to explore methods for constructing virtuality. In its current stage, the project is producing a series of performances, VR, and video-based experiments that will together compose a wide exploration of methods for refracting and re-envisioning viewership, movement, embodiment, and documentation within virtual (and non-virtual) space.
