OK. SO.

I wouldn’t consider Halcyon an “accident” per se, but he definitely was not expected. Once Cy started having regular access to food and whatnot it’s safe to say that things kinda derailed with her finding out she was carrying. Initially her first reaction was to terminate the newspark and call it a day but she decided she was going to raise him, despite the unstable state of post-war Cybertron.

As Halcyon grows up, Cy sees more of herself in him, a side that did not get a chance to grow. Halcyon is a gentle, sensitive kid and it takes a lot of getting used to for her, since she was formerly a frontline commander. Boss, her conjux, helps her out with this and reminds her that life is much different now. Cy is pretty overprotective of him but let’s him experience things on his own, because she knows the only way to learn things is through experience. She let him try raw egg because he insisted and now he knows raw egg is nasty.

When Halcyon is very young she goes into therapy, because she knows things are no longer about her, and that if she’s going to be a good mother, she has to get through all the things she pushed back. She has to face the things she’s done, seen, and experienced.

I think it’s funny to think about her showing up to PTA meetings as the former frontline commander of the decepticons bc everyone is like holy shit. No way she had a kid.
