I’m sure someone has said this before but they missed an opportunity to do the funniest casting ever for SNW. Like, I love Rebecca Romijn and Jess Bush but can you imaging if they had cast identical twins to play Una Chin-Riley and Christine Chapel and just given them different hair colors? And then just completely ignored the fact that they look the same? Or have somebody mention it but the whole crew just acts like they’re crazy?
#agreed#no hate on the actresses they're doing a fantastic job with their character#but that idea of casting identical twins would have been REALLY funny#Star Trek Strange New Worlds

noticing that for mono relationships you hear stuff like "they weren't right for each other" or "it just didn't work out" but for poly relationships it's always "this is why I could never do polyamory"

it pisses me off SO bad how transphobes have so effectively used sports to launder transphobia and misogyny to people. like does nobody remember like ~5-10 years ago when it was a MAJOR feminist talking point to argue for desegregating sports and going by skill level instead of gender separation??? and now, because so many cis people hate trans people so violently and think we should be excluded from all aspects of public life, you’ve got a whole bunch of women who call themselves feminists laundering misogynistic talking points about how “women are just inherently weaker and worse at athletics than men :(( it’s just biology and women are inherently inferior :(( this is definitely not misogyny that’s unsupported by science, women are just weaker and worse at things :((“ like girl open your ears and listen to what you’re saying!!

*if you know/have confirmed from multiple sources, pick the first one you experienced
#blood typed at birth#not sure if it's because it's something done in France#or if it's because my mother was a nurse#I think I remember some younger cousins born when I was about 10 or older that got typed at birth too#and neither of their parent was a medical professional#so it might just be something done in France

Not about wine and beer or liquor and beer, but the french have a saying about drinking red and white wine.
Blanc sur rouge, rien ne bouge.
Rouge sur blanc, tout fout le camp.
Literally it would be "White over red, nothing moves. Red over white, everything goes away." As in you're gonna throw up.
Now, I don't drink alcohol and I have no idea if it means "drink this type before the other" or the opposite so yeah sorry I can't help more with that. But apparently a lot of languages have sayings about alcohol.
really funny that in english it's "liquor before beer, you're in the clear; beer before liquor, never sicker" because we have "vino y cerveza, dolor de cabeza; cerveza y vino, pedo divino". now wine isnt a liquor obviously but i think the principle is the same and yet the advice is the exact opposite.
beautiful example of rhyme-as-reason effect also
