nash nodded his head at the comment. he was very much the type of person who could rant about anything and everything if given the opportunity to do so. spiraling, he was able to at least control when he was with his son. because, of course, wyatt took after him in that regard. “well, glad to be of service… i think?” he laughed at the end of his sentence, questioning if it was a good or bad thing. he didn't know. “i mean…it's not that bad is it?” he looked down at his shirt and then back up at dasom with a shrug of his shoulders. it was clearly already forming a stain, so it was definitely bad. “okay, fine. you're not wrong, i guess.”
there is a smile curling on dasom's lips as she looked at him. " oh me too, trust, just never heard anyone really spiral about that before. " she can't help but to laugh, head shaking as she shifted slightly to grab her water bottle and take a sip. " well, we can always go buy you a new one. i love to shop and i'll be damned if we go to the restaurant with your shirt like that. "

delaney wondered what happened to bring her to this town. it was a lot to take in, but after feeling so cooped up for the last few years, this place was a breath of air. even if it was a totally different kind of air. and she was still uncertain and didn't trust the place. it was hard to trust anything that she knew about it all. “it is pretty amazing.” delaney replied with a smile. she had always loved being able to ride, or just be around horses. she'd just been able to be around them so little in the last few years that this was really making her happy once again. even if this place was making her hair stand up and keeping her on her guard, she was at least trying to find some positives. “have you ever ridden?” she asked. delaney knew not many people did, but she often asked because otherwise she didn't know what would be too much to say or not enough to say about the things she might be commenting on about her own life and what she did. and, besides, this was a good way to keep her mind off of everything for now. just being able to sit down and have a conversation with someone who didn't know her really but was going through the same thing she was and was trying to deal with it all too. “i think so? it's hard to tell with a year old. but they're pretty vocal when they don't like something.” delaney laughed. her son could definitely babble her ears off if he wanted to. but it was at least good babbling so far. “i don't think he's been able to really tell the difference that much, other than this place is more open. we'd been in a city previously, so this is far more open than that.”
she could sometimes be too trusting of others, and it had led brooklyn to being burned in the past. she was open and honest with most that she met, but had been warned not to do that in a place like this. the girl before her didn’t seem dangerous though, and genuinely brooklyn was just happy to keep her mind off everything going on. she was fine having a genuine conversation with a kindhearted person - at least, on the surface it seemed exactly like that. she hoped this time it didn’t end up getting her in trouble like it usually did. her smile was bright as she listened to the female talk about her son and horses though. “that sounds amazing!” she had never been able to ride horses growing up, mostly due to living in the city. “is your son liking it here then? i guess you can find positives everywhere you go, if you look hard enough.” recently she’d been more focused on the negatives, but it wasn’t all hopeless.

chase had never thought he would be attached to tree hill. but he had grown to love the place over the years. and now he found himself missing it more than before. it was the fact that half the people he'd known from home just didn't know themselves – brooke and haley came to mind. chase didn't know what to do, he wasn't the one to organize everything. to figure out the issues at hand. and winding up here, in this place, in maine of all places. it was hard to think of what everyone would think of it if they could remember it all. it was something chase wanted to know. but he still couldn't talk to many people about it. “when the ground is just so comfortable?” chase joked, glancing around. he knew he should get up, but the worry of further embarrassment was hanging in the distance. he was always that guy, the one who he knew was going to end up doing something particularly dumb and embarrassing. it was just writting in the stars, wasn't it? chase somehow could have predicted it all. but he looked at alex and started to move a little bit, “i know you're right.” he hummed, shuffling as he started to get to his feet, attempting to balance as he moved.
she never thought she was going to miss tree hill as much as she currently did. alex had found a home back in tree hill, met some people she truly wound up caring for. she had chase in terret's cove, which she was grateful for, but she still missed the other people she cared for. she imagined it wasn't very difficult to get lost in thought, especially in a place like this. her own thoughts often went back to north carolina, too. she just didn't understand how any of them wound up in a place like this. there wasn't any logic to it as far as alex was concerned. if she thought about it too much, it would only make things more confusing. alex felt bad for chase, she imagined it was quite embarrassing to be in his shoes in that moment. she tried to avoid saying that out loud, though. instead, she figured she'd be helpful for a change and try to get the both of them out of there. “ well, since you're okay . . . let's get you up onto your feet then. yeah ? ” she suggested, offering him a small smile.

esme knew that she was her own worst enemy when it came to worrying about everything. but it was hard to think about anything that was going on in the town and how she would make her business work when she knew that things were changing, she could feel it all happening. esme just didn't know what to do with it all personally because she knew that it was going to be something that was going to be. “we'll figure it out.” esme commented with a slight shrug of her shoulders. she was certain of it. she knew she would be able to figure it out. that they would be able to understand what was going on in this town. “a mystery can only be a mystery for so long, right?” esme's words were slightly joking in her tone. but it was true. she didn't think that it could be a mystery forever. it was at least something that they could work on to figure out if they wanted to. "it's a bit of a change, but we can adapt to it too."
bella wasn't a great listener, but she tried her best. sometimes, her mind just liked to detach itself from reality and she never fully understood why that was the case. she shoved those thoughts out of her head, though, focusing on esme once again as best as she could. “ i understand, ” bella sympathized, nodding. the newcomers, the shift in terret's cove . . . it was bound to cause feelings of unease. bella had experienced some herself. she just didn't know how to properly explain it. instead, she'd rather listen to esme. the woman was much more insightful than she was. bella was certain she could vocalize it much better. “ it makes sense, yeah, ” bella assured her, nodding. “ all these people coming here . . . there's definitely something changing. i just wish we knew what it was. ”

galleria was the kind of person who, once she got wrapped up in her music, she would need to be pulled from it. it was hard to do that, unless she was done with the song. or distracted by something else. galleria could simply be lost in a tune for an unknown amount of time. turning around on the piano's seat to look at the other fully, she gave a small smile, “it's okay. i just wasn't expecting an audience.” galleria answered. not that she minded. she wasn't really making music for anyone specific right now, not even for a competition or for a stage or anything. just for herself. “you liked it? thank you. i've been trying some new styles lately.” she was almost always experimenting with the sound she was working with. whatever she felt tuned into that week, she would work on a new style of music to go with that, but it hadn't always worked in the past.
dorinda was early. a first time for everything it seemed. she wrapped up her earlier errands faster than anticipated thus her arrival approximately twenty minutes early to the room she had rented to work on her dance. when dorinda had caught sight of another person there, she had idly hovered but the amazing melody pulled her in. she had went from lingering near the doorway to half way through the threshold, banging her dance bag into the door as she did. cheeks flushed with embarrassment, nodding quickly. " yes, it is! i'm just early and your music -- i had to come see who was making it. it's wonderful! "

while roger didn't have a set job and his hours were pretty flexible, he was always working in one way or another. whether it was on the jingles that made them some money or it was music that he didn't think would ever see the light of day, roger was always playing around with some sort of tune. the music spoke to him. though a lot of the times his main audience were the dogs at his side, or his wife. and they were a bit biased when it came to answers. especially the dogs, they tended to like anything if asked the right way. “i told them to try to wait longer, but they just couldn't be talked down.” roger joked. he could tell pongo's head turned toward him, and roger looked down at the dogs. it was hard to know if the dogs truly understood the words that he said. or maybe it was just the tone that they were picking up on. still, he liked to think that their dogs were able to understand them completely. it was easier to think that way. “they're coming along nicely.” roger replied. though he was still stuck on a few tracks. he had some wiggle room with deadlines farther out. but he was very much a mood worker when it came to his music, and the creative needed to be able to flow. “well, that's good to hear.”
on her days off, she still liked to take a little time for herself. it allowed roger the space to work on his jingles alone and interrupted while giving her some peace and quiet of her own. their system worked well for the both of them in her mind. the highlight of her day after leaving the house, was always being able to go home and see her husband and their beloved pets. she was happy with her life, and there wasn't a thing she'd change about it. “ well, i missed all of you guys, too. ” she wasn't sure if pongo and perdita fully understood what her and roger were saying, but anita liked to think that they did. “ how are the jingles going ? ” she asked, curious. she always made it a point to show interest in her husband's work, she wanted to be as supportive as she could. “ i can't complain, really. so far . . . it's pretty great. ”

nancy wanted to get home, but there was a double edged sword of getting home. by returnring back to hawkins, they might be returning back to a possible end of the world. and she didn't know what was happening here, but at leas the world wasn't currently imploding so that was something to say about this place. either way, she was still worried about what might be happening in terret's cove. “okay, you want to try getting one person to remember?” nancy repeated, crossing her arms as she thought. she could see the thought behind the action. trying to work on one person would be a start, but still it didn't mean it would work. she was worried about it all. she was worried about everything if she were being honest. “do you have any suggestions as to who? because we could try max or lucas or hell…i hear chrissy cunningham is walking around town too. it might be a hard sell for any of them.” she didn't know how any of them would be with getting the news that they weren't from here, but it would be hard probably for someone who would eventually learn that they were dead back home. nancy couldn't imagine being the one to tell someone that. she didn't want to think about doing that. she hated the thought, honestly. but then again, she hoped she wouldn't have to be the one who would tell them. she could just be there for them. or something. the journalist in her wanted to poke around. but she didn't want to be the one to be looking into it and accidentally cause some sort of break. “i haven't seen el," nancy said softly, apologetically. and then she assured him, "but i've been looking for her and for robin, too.” she couldn't imagine being worried about someone like he was worried about el. she worried about people. the rest of their family, obviously. especially holly. but it was hard to say that she had worried about anyone as much as she had worried about barb and by the time she had found everything out it was too late. “i did run into dustin, though." she paused, before adding in, “and steve, obviously.” because it had felt obvious to her that she had seen steve since their arrival. maybe it wasn't to mike, but she didn't know.
he was convinced things were never going to get any easier. if it wasn't demogorgons, it was amnesia and the never ending fear that something wicked was on its way to terret's cove. things were deceptively peaceful as far as mike was concerned. the town was unpredictable, especially given its ability to resurrect the dead. that wasn't normal, and it didn't provide mike much comfort. there were so many things that could go wrong with that. if he thought about it too much, he'd send himself into a state of complete panic. he didn't want to do that. “ i don't trust this place. ” he'd probably said it hundreds of times, but it was the truth. terret's cove was suspicious. “ i don't think it'd be very smart to ask questions anyways, ” he deduced. “ if they don't remember, they'll think we're crazy. if they do, they're probably just as lost. ” mike paused, pursing his lips. “ we need to find a way to make one person remember. maybe if we can do that . . . we can ask them questions about this place. ” it made sense in his head, but he wasn't quite sure how to test it. it'd require knowing how to make someone remember in the first place. of course nancy was taking notes. that was just like his sister. mike dragged his hands down his face, frustration evident in his mannerisms. “ we need to find answers. i'm worried about everyone. my friends don't know who they are, and i don't know where el is. ” of course he worried for the rest of the wheeler family, but he couldn't deny that some people were a little higher on his list of concerns than others.

it was clear to rey that poe didn't know who she was. the part that was interesting to her was that rey had never thought that poe had already known that information until she'd met him face to face. then she'd found out that he had known her name already. “somehow i have my doubts.” she replied honestly. if poe didn't remember her, she worried what was going on. but rey was frankly always on edge. she didn't want to say anything to be too obvious that she knew something was off though. “i'm more worried about the dog than either of us.” she answered. it wasn't the whole truth. but she was rather worried about the dog, too.
brows furrow tightly together, gaze dropping down to the dog and back up to the woman across from him. " he wouldn't be fending for himself. i am very capable of taking care of a dog. " poe said with a sigh, arms folding across his chest. this was beginning to be strange. " am i alright? of course. are you? "

shiloh cared about two things in this life. and they were both here in this town. of course, the town made no sense to her, and she was still trying to figure out what was going on. but the small fact that they were far away from hawkins and didn't seem to be anywhere near the lab in the first place was a beautiful start to everything. shiloh was always going to be worried about it all, but she didn't want to be living looking over her shoulder even if she knew that was for the best. her head was no longer spinning, but this town still had a lot of questions that she didn't have the answers to. “i can never not be careful.” shiloh replied, holding up her hands with gloves on them. she couldn't ever take them off. her powers were still too unstable. she knew she was strong, but she wasn't in control long enough for it to all work enough. she knew that wasn't what her sister meant in terms of careful versus not being careful. but still, shiloh was always on high alert for many things. “we just need to keep our eyes and ears on the lookout.” she knew it was hard to be looking constantly for problems, and shiloh didn't want to do that, but she knew it was important too.
sophie didn't trust terret's cove. she wished she could, but she was not foolish enough to let her guard slip completely. she was trying to form connections, but she was always looking over her shoulder everywhere she went. she was convinced that at some point, someone from that lab was going to show up and attempt to drag her back to hawkins. she could understand why shiloh might've wanted to try and be optimistic, wanted to try her hand at a normal life, but that wasn't where sophie's head was at. she knew she had to be on high alert. self preservation was crucial. she envied the people who walked through life without fears. sophie nodded at her sisters words, swallowing the lump that formed in her throat. at least both of them were somewhat on their toes. “ glad to see you're still being careful, ” she noted. as long as she wasn't careless, she was doing the right thing. “ one day at a time, ” sophie repeated. she would have to keep telling herself that until she fully committed to it. it wasn't going to be all that simple for her, but she would do her best.

sam didn't know what tara was going on about. it was hard enough to believe that she could be related to her, let alone that they could be sisters. sam had lived her whole life knowing that she was an only child. she didn't know what was going on. but it was hard enough to be forced to think outside of what you knew. and maybe she wanted to see if she was possibly wrong. she didn't know if tara was right, but she wanted to at least see if the gut feeling to hear her out was going to be correct. “fine…what you know.” sam said with a slight shrug of her shoulders, she didn't know why she felt the needed the clarification, but she understood either way that it was a part of whatever possible story she might be about to hear. “i still want to hear it. to know.”
it was strange, really. after the first events, tara felt as if sam had been suffocating her with the protectiveness and hovering. now ? she would love to see that side of her sister again. it was far better than whatever amnesiac version this was. “ well, first of all . . . it's not what i think . . . it's what i know. ” that was an important clarification. sam was the one with false memories here, not her. “ and honestly ? i wouldn't even know where to begin. ” it'd likely all seem farfetched to sam no matter what she said, and tara didn't need sam thinking she was crazy all over again.
