Chapter two

One month ago was the night before Wade was deployed. Autumn could remember the way his lips felt against hers and how they spent the night woo-whooing until the wee hours of the morning, and then it hit her like a ton of bricks.

The cravings, the nausea , sleeping all of the time..

“ I’m Pregnant” Autumn blurted into the phone to her agent.

“ Pregnant?” Nora cried out.

“ Do you know what this will do to your career?” She asked Autumn,

“ I just got you that audition for Days of my Sims” Nora reminded her.

Autumn sobbed on the other end.

“ Are you keeping it?” Nora asked.

Autumn heard the question and realized there is no way in hell that she could be a mom right now. She could barely provide a roof over her own head these days let alone a baby.

“ NO way” She cried out.

“ Ok I have to get on top of damage control “ Nora insisted.

“ So we are gonna tell the tabloids that you are going to rehab” She added.

“ Rehab? really that’s better then telling the world I am pregnant?” Autumn asked.

“ Trust me darling, when you come back after this your fans will embrace you” Nora promised Autumn.

“ What about the baby?” Autumn asked.

“ I will start looking into adoption agency’s” Nora exclaimed.

“ Thank you Nora” Autumn whispered through tears.

“ Did the agency call yet with potential parents for my baby ?” Autumn Greeted Nora .

“ Yes darling” Nora could hardly contain her excitement.

“ Who are they ?” Autumn pressed.

“  Autumn, Drew and I cannot have children and he warned me not to mix business with pleasure but I just cannot let this opportunity pass by” Nora explained.

“ You and Drew want to adopt my baby?” Autumn asked her confused.

“ Yes , very much so “ Nora agreed.

“ May I?” She asked reaching towards Autumn’s growing baby bump.

“ Yes” Autumn obliged.

Nora and Drew Pembroke lived a luxurious life. She is a well known celebrity stylist to the stars and he is a successful Chef on a well known cooking Show. They live in a luxurious apartment on the upper east side and had everything they could ask for. They would make the perfect Parents for Autumn’s baby. Her child would never know what it was like to go without and they would love her child so very much.

“ I want you and Drew to adopt my baby” Autumn agreed.

“ Oh fabulous” Nora chimed.

“ Our lawyer will start on the adoption right away, obviously we prefer a closed adoption. Drew and I will cover all of your expenses until the birth as well as your medical bills” Nora rambled on.

“ I think you two will be great parents” Autumn boasted.

“ Autumn darling you must know that after the baby is born I can no longer be your stylist and manager” Nora broke the news to her.  Autumn frowned . Nora has been her manager since she was a young teen . 

“ I understand” Autumn agreed, knowing it was the best for her unborn baby.

Exactly 9 months and 5 days from the night that Wade was deployed, Autumn went into labor.

Autumn inhaled the sweet scent of her newborn daughter and vowed to remember what she looked like forever.  She had the same Ocean blue eyes as Autumn and a patch of blonde hair like Wade.  

“ It’s time” The nurse interrupted.

Autumn pushed her baby  into the nurse’s arms .

“ Take her !! She sobbed uncontrollably as her newborn baby was taken to her new parents who were waiting eagerly in the hall.

Chapter one

“ What has my life become?” Autumn groaned under her breath. A year ago she was a Television drama queen on one of prime time’s hottest shows called “Simberly HIlls 90210″ . Until the network execs  decided she was to old to portray her teen dream queen Brynn Welsh and killed her character off .Now Autumn spends her days jetting from audition to audition and moonlighting at this seedy karaoke bar downtown as a bartender/ entertainer just to make ends meet and barely afford her swanky rent controlled apartment.

“ Hey Sweet Cheeks can I get a drink over here pronto?” A middle aged man wearing a Llama Jersey that barely covered his beer belly, barked at her from across the bar.

“ I got it “ Her co-worker Lucy intercepted before Autumn could give him a piece of her mind.

“  You take this plate of French fries to table 5″ Lucy added with a wink.

Autumn made her way outside to table five and realized why Lucy smirked at her. He appeared to be in his early twenties, handsome with rugged good looks .Autumn guessed by his fresh buzz cut that he was a new recruit for Fort Gnome Military base. “ French Fries” Autumn sang plopping the plate down in front of him.

Wade looked up and smiled he was awe struck by the beautiful waitress who greeted him . Her curves seemed to fit her uniform perfectly and hugged every inch of the short jean shorts and crop top . She smiled at him and realized she had the bluest eyes he has ever seen . Her beauty was something you see on magazine covers or in movies.

“ Care to join me?” He asked and Autumn could detect a hint of a southern drawl in his voice. Intrigued with him she glanced at her watch, closing time was in ten minutes.

“ Why not!” Autumn exclaimed , plopping down into the seat across from the handsome stranger.

“ So what’s your story?” He asked her with a flirty smirk.

“ My Story” Autumn laughed and paused a moment before answering .

“ Well let’s see, I’m a washed up teen starlet who was tossed off a show she grew up on set of a popular teen sitcom and was tossed off the show like garbage because I am to old to play a teenager and now I moonlight in this dump just to make ends meat” She blurted out.

“ Wow you are just a bucket of sunshine” Wade teased.

“ Oh come on , you mean to tell me your story isn’t as equally depressing?” She challenged him.

“ High School football star who was banking on a full ride scholarship to college and lost out to my best friend who got the scholarship instead and had to join the Army to escape the small town he grew up in.” He answered.

“ Ok so we both have depressing stories” Autumn agreed laughing.

“ I’m Wade” He introduced himself.

“ Autumn” She replied.

“ Would you like a tour of the city ?” Autumn asked him without much thought.

“ Are you asking me on a date already?” Wade teased her.

“ I guess I am “ She flirted.

“ How bout tomorrow?” Wade asked.

“ Noon in Simtral Park” Autumn instructed.

In true gentlemen fashion Wade Met Autumn At the park at noon on the dot with a single red rose.

“ For me ?” Autumn gushed.

Wade was whisked away on a tour of the city. They started with a hot dog from one of the food stands in the park and made their way through the art district. He hung on her every word, absolutely intrigued by her grace and beauty .Autumn showed Wade the boarding school she attended in the city and they went to the studio she filmed at . Autumn was proud of the city she was born and raised in and it showed in her passion when she spoke. She is a city girl through and through and her life has been so full of adventure. Wade was captivated by her zest for life and her determination and had to see her again, He was fallin and falling hard for her.

Their first date lingered into two  and then three and before they knew it Wade And Autumn were dating exclusively.

Days turned to weeks and weeks to months...Five to be exact and they found themselves to be head over heals in love and spent every waking moment together and could not get enough of each other. Life was perfect...

And then it happened.. The day they knew was coming but tried not to think about. Wade received his orders.

“ I’m being deployed to Afganasim, we deploy in the morning” He broke the news to Autumn.

“ How long?” She asked him with pleading eyes.

“ I’m not sure” Wade replied.

“ Just come back to me?” She whispered holding back tears.

“ I’ll write you” Wade exclaimed.

“ When I get back we’ll continue where we left off” He promised.

Just as Fast as Wade came into her life he was gone. Autumn fell into a depression after he was gone. She found herself rushing home from auditions or work at the bar to check the mail. To her dismay every day there was no letter from Wade. One week passed and before long it had been a full month since he had deployed and she had yet to hear from him. She was starting to realize that Wade had not kept his promise to her and she was heart broken to say the least. Her clothes were becoming snug and she blamed it on the endless nights of drowning her sorrows in ice cream and chips.

Until she was hit with the daily bouts of nausea at all hours of the day and suddenly Autumn began to count on her fingers the last night she had spent with Wade.
