Hi there! I had a friend who I showed your lovely scabbard to, and she was curious if you make any scabbards either not in leather or at least in specifically not in cow leather? They're a hema practitioner and due to religious beliefs cant use cow leather for her swords
Hi, an answer to your question; I do not. I only use genuine veg-tan leather.

Presenting my most recent scabbard commission, for the Albion Regent. The one was a client requested Forget-me-not flower themed build. The cast metalwork is silver & brass mixed. The color details on the scabbard itself are hand tooled & hand painted.

I remember being back in high school browsing the SBG forums and absolutely salivating over every time somebody would post a new work they got in from you. Super crazy to see you on social media all these years later, I'm 27 now.
You're still showing why leather is such a beautiful medium!
Thank you so much! It’s been a long journey. I was just thinking recently that my discovery to find real swords were still being made was 20 years ago, and within a 2 year span of 2005 my passion for it all went from hobby to a business and DBK began. So right about when you were 7 I was on SBG too, looking at all the wonderous swords & scabbards.

Hi! as someone new to leather, I look up to your work very much! There's a lovely look of grace to everything of yours that I've seen.
I had a question, if you don't mind: what do you use for dyeing (or, are you painting..?) the leather? Anything you're willing to share about that process I would be super grateful for! Thanks in advance
For base coats I use standard leather dye’s, and for hand-painted elements I use acrylic paints.

Presenting my most recently completed commission, for the Albion Arn sword by Albion Swords Limited LLC
A 'fantasy' style transport scabbard, this one is in a custom ox blood featuring a custom handpainted heraldric style emblem at the throat, and cross-hatch pattern below. The chape is a cast bronze, and features several elements of design that compliment the sword.
