Diane Meyer is interested in the failures of photography, preserving experience and personal history. Each of these works is related to ideas of memory, nostalgia and trying to make sense of time and place. The special feature of her work is that her photographs have been obscured by cross-stich embroidery sewn directly on the photograph, forming a pixelated version of the underlying image.

Aliza Razell composes stunning mixed-media photographs, which combine watercolor splashes with self-portraits. By carefully manipulating each image, Razell proves to be a magnificent story-teller, who demonstrates depth and vulnerability. By replacing the the most emotional features on the human body, the eyes and the face, with a range of color, the young artist directly conveys how her subjects are feeling. The juxtaposition between the monochromatic background and rainbow faces create a meaningful scene, which seamlessly blends together.
