Oh how he wanted to show you love and care just like how those movies you showed him did. All he could do was stare at the screen, his expression obviously strained as he was lost in his thoughts. Why was it so hard for him to just touch you? To put a clothed hand over yours and just bask in the warmth you gave off?

He looked over at you, his red eyesight glowing brighter slightly as he couldn't help but deflate a little. You were completely engrossed in the scene where the guy was fully confessing his love and admiration for his partner. All he could do was look back at the screen with pure envy

You deserved better than him, y'know?

Here you were, the TV light lighting up your perfect features, your eyes lighting up at the scene and your lips in a perfect position

The perfect position for a kiss

And yet at just the very thought of doing that he felt his soul beat out of his chest, his skull filling up with a harsh heat. His hands slowly hovered over yours as he made tense eye contact with his own fingers, as if his eyes were telling them not to fuck this up

You felt a cold tap for a second and then it was gone, like a fly had landed on you and flew away. You looked over at your skeleton lover, knowing that the source had to be from him

You asked if he was okay and all he could reply with was a gruff, 'mhm'

The touch was only for a second and he felt as if his whole skull erupted in flames. Was it really that hard for him? the same guy that went to Grillby's and flirted with every breathing creature in a 10 foot radius?

But not everyone was you and not everyone made him feel a warm feeling like this.

And not everyone would also motivate him to get over himself and finally kiss you that night

Got back into undertale fandom after 5 years of not being into it just to see sour apple studios,,,

anyways I feel like people are ALLOWED to talk about how uncomfortable the art made them and the situation

I have been a fan of horrortale for a while now, and that's probably still not going to change as I'm going to choose to acknowledge what they did and move on as I am one person and can't really do much

But I will say that getting mad at people for openly being upset about it is strange. There are a lot of REAL LIFE victims of that who were fans of horrortale, so seeing that was most likely upsetting for them and they're allowed to say that openly

while I don't condone harassment of any kind, as long as they are just saying their opinion it shouldn't be seen as being dramatic?

The walk there was full of jokes and light hearted teasing. His hand held yours as you walked past the echo flowers, most of them repeating what you said to eachother now and the day before now

Some of the walk was a comfortable silence, the emptiness being filled with the sound of running water and conversations from some of waterfalls residents. Eventually, you reached where Sans wanted to take you

You looked up at the ceiling in awe

What looked to be stars were shining so brightly, contrasting beautifully against the dark. Each star had its own uniqueness, it's own shape. The light blue reflected off of your face and it led to Sans staring at you as if you were a star

You were a star to him in that moment. Someone who gave him more hope than he had before, someone who made him think that maybe it wouldn't be so bad being stuck down here if he had you and paps. Your eyes reflected the light so graciously, his soul nearly beat out of his chest

He felt a lot of thing when it came to it. Most of those emotions just seeming like content at his situation, but beyond that was eagerness and desperation. He had seen the sun before in another timeline and he so desperately wanted to see it again, wanted his brother to see it again. Looking at the crystals that tried to be stars was different now. They weren't the real stars he saw before

But, there wasn't much he can do about. Instead, he could stare at you and long about a future with you and him stargazing together

A not official date with Papyrus?

It would likely be at his house as he is a homebody, basking in the enjoyment of familiar surroundings and comfort as he puts together a battle plan using the action figures on his table. Then you would come along, knocking on the door which would cause him to pause his secret plan altogether

Opening the door and seeing how he practically beamed when he saw it was you, inviting you in immediately. If you were to ask about the figures he would shine a smile so bright it could have been its own sun as he tells you about every detail and how his plan was practically fool proof - and if you listened?? Oh, he was head over heels in love

Then he would show you something he got from the library - puzzle books for two people to solve together! He thought it would be fun to do with you and couldn't help but buy it as soon as he saw it

The rest of the evening involved you, him, and a puzzle book that annoyed the both of you

Self Aware! Cayde was actually a little distraught when he died. It's not like he wasn't aware anymore, he could still see you and what not, but he couldn't have a physical body anymore. And to make it worse, you seemed to be even MORE distraught than he was

He found it endearing - In your perspective he was just a fictional character and yet you were grieving like you knew him. Oh, how he wished you could know him. But currently, he doesn't have a way to get out of the game and be there with you, and even if he did.. there isn't really Exos in the real world.

Maybe he could bring you with him instead? No.. thats dangerous for you, you have no guardian experience afterall

So now, he was just stuck seeing you weep over him despite him being right there for you, ugh it was killing him.

So he left little notes for you in the game, to which you assumed them to be apart of the game as an update had just came out (which annoyed him to no end because why is someone else getting credit for his little love notes he left for YOU?)

When that didn't seem to make you feel better, he thought even harder on what he could do - and came up with.. nothing. He had no voicelines he could throw in, no body he can use to communicate his feelings, and no npc he can take control of

oh wait, that's right. He can do that. But by the time he realized that, Final Shape had already came out and he wa back to being in front of you again

The smile you held when you saw him is one he would never forget - his eyes practically took a screenshot of it

Cayde is genuinely the type of man to watch you slap someone and be the first to ask if your hand is okay

He knows you, knows that they probably deserved that slap too

Doesn't matter if it was at the tower or not - although if it was one of his friends he might try to sort it out because he doesn't want either of you to be mad at him (but he's going to lean on your side more because you do the exact same for him)

He'll likely dote on your hand lately, not making it obvious but just a small rub of his thumb on your palm or knuckles

You'd really only realize it if you were thinking about the event while he was doing it and if you call him out on it, he'll deny all accusations without a lawyer present

All Nikto feels when he sees you is pure adoration and devotion, a feeling he thought was long gone due to the longing void he felt in his heart.

The way you look and smile at him when you see him, the habits you do, the weird way you do things, it was all perfect for him. Too perfect. You were everything he desired, everything he wanted. Hell, everything he needed.

But he couldn't be selfish and ruin you, he refused to. He was long corrupted while you still held the same sweetness that many lost, the same sweetness he lost.

He couldn't let you lose it because of him

His body was just as cold and scarred as his hands did and his mind was as dried and tired as his chest. His face was scarred as well, every inch filled with some kind of disfigurement or scar- reminding him everyday that he would never go back to being who he was before that mission

The mission that ruined his life and fucked him up severely

The mission that led to him leaving the F.S.B

The mission that led to him being scared to love you

His worst fear was blacking out and coming back to reality, only to see you in tears- or worse: dead. Dead because of his own hands, hands that were supposed to provide protection and stability in your life.

He wouldn't be able to live with himself if that happened

So he pushed you away at first

Every glance you gave him was met with narrowed eyes and an icy glare that sent chills down your spine. Every smile was met with a scowl that mocked hatred. Every laugh was met with an unnerving silence, while you were unknown of the smile hidden underneath his mask

Your mind eventually lead to the conclusion that he hated your guts and that would never change. His voice was always distant with you, angry for a reason you couldn't pinpoint.

You didn't do anything to him, so why was he upset with you? why did he seem to hate you?

The only true reason would be because you represented everything he wanted to have before he changed.

He used to long for a partner and love, he longed for someone he could pour affection and time into, and he longed for someone to pour the same into him.

But instead, time and trauma filled him like a mold and slowly rotted his desire away. He firmly believed it would never happen, that he was stuck in a forever loop of watching with desperation, but never recieving it

And he probably never would have if you didn't push. If you didn't still treat him with kindness despite his rude advances towards you, you wouldn't be where you were with him today. He laid in your lap, eyes closed as you stared down at his face with loving eyes and a small smile at the domestic moment you were sharing. Your hands played with his hair gently, treating him like he was your whole world.

Not once did you get snappy when he had his episodes, not once did you berate him for being broken, and not once did you insult him for his appearance. The bare minimum, yes, but it meant a lot for him unfortunately. The love and understanding you shared with him was slowly healing him, even if he would never be healed all the way

And that made him finally realized that he achieved his dream

Someone was there for him
