Beckett moved through the dimly lit bedroom, pulled one of Castle's oversized shirts from his dresser drawer and slipped it on. The hem brushed along her thighs, tickled her bare skin. Cool air drifted in from the open window, along with the soft hum of traffic from the streets below.
"Do you think it could always be this... easy?" Beckett asked, her voice quiet but curious.
She turned to face Castle, smiled at his damp hair and half-buttoned pyjama shirt.
He smiled back, his grin equal parts tenderness and mischief. "What part of us getting here was easy?"
Beckett huffed out a laugh, grabbed the closest thing she could find - which just so happened to be a small cushion - and playfully tossed it at him, hitting him square in the chest. Castle caught the pillow in one hand, then tossed it onto the bed before stepping toward her.
"I meant... do you think we'll always feel like this?" she explained.
She looped her arms around his neck as his hands fell to her waist.
"It might help if you clarify what like this means," he encouraged with a soft smile.
Beckett shrugged and averted her eyes, suddenly shy. "I don't know. Like... that want-to-be-close, can't-stop-smiling, why-did-we-waste-so-much-time kind of feeling?"
"Why, Detective Beckett, I do believe that what you're describing is called love," Castle teased. "And, honestly? I think we have a lot more falling to do. I think that we will be one of those old couples who finish each other's sentences and make people roll their eyes at how adorable we are."
Beckett grinned at the thought. "I think I like the sound of that."
"Can't blame you," Castle said. "Forever, with me? Who wouldn't like the sound of that?" he joked, disguising the affection swelling in his chest.
He leaned his forehead against hers and she closed her eyes, allowed the warmth of him settle over her.
"I just- I can't picture my life without you in it anymore," she admitted.
Castle's heart did a little flip at her words, and he tightened his arms around her, if only to keep her close. "You don't have to. I'm not going anywhere."
Kate tilted her head up and met his eyes. In the soft glow of light from the bedside lamp she could see the truth of his words written all over his face. She had been betrayed before - too many times - but if he said the words, she'd believe him.
"You promise?"
"I promise," he whispered as he gentle brushed strands of hair from her face. "This is just the beginning of our story, Kate."
She smiled softly and leant her cheek to his chest, allowing herself to melt into his embrace.
"I love you," she murmured, so quietly he almost missed it.
Castle leant down and pressed a kiss tot he top of her head. "I love you, too. More than anything."
She felt his arms tighten around her, as though he was holding on to the most precious thing in the world, and for a moment, the world outside the two of them seemed to disappear.
"Do you think we'll ever get tired of this?" she asked quietly, her fingers tracing small circles at his lower back, under his shirt.
Castle laughed softly, a sound full of warmth. "Tired of us? Never."
Beckett rested her head against him, eyes drifting close. "Good. Because I kind of want to do this forever."
He kissed the top of her head, his voice a quiet whisper in the dark. "Forever sounds perfect."

People Like Me - The final stanza from a poem I wrote when I was 20. I was so lost. I don’t feel this way anymore. If you do, I promise you’ll find gravity again one day.

Facebook PSA
Hey all, a little Social Media PSA if you have the Facebook App on your phone.
With the last update, Facebook began tracking something called ‘off-Facebook Activity’ which keeps up with all apps and browsing you do off of Facebook and collects that information with the purpose of targeting ads… which means they’re selling it to ad agencies. This includes access to any banking apps on your phone and your spending habits.
Not only is this a major breech of privacy that Facebook didn’t have to tell us about when they updated the app, it’s, of course, automatically turned on.
To turn it off, go into your Facebook app, pull up the menu from the main screen [the button with the three horizontal lines] scroll down to security and privacy, find ‘Off-Facebook Activity’ and hit the button that lets you manage your history to see all the apps it’s been collecting from. From there, you can clear the information it’s already collected, and there will be a button regarding ‘Future activity’ where you can turn the ‘feature’ off, at which point Facebook with give you an ‘ARE YOU SURE YOU DON’T WANT US COLLECTING YOUR INFORMATION TO SELL YOU THINGS???’ screen. Yes, yes you are sure. Because this is disgusting.
