Nope (2022) I love you so much you have anything I could wish for in a movie and more. you're a western, a horror and sci-fi all at once. you have amazing music. you have a righteous message. youre directed by jordan peele. one of the main characters is a lesbian black woman. another main character is a possibly autistic black man. there is no romantic storyline. the main characters are one of the best representations of siblings I have ever seen. the main trio is all attractive. I love you Nope (2022)

tbh I can't imagine what the yellowjackets' parents felt
you send your child, your pride, to compete in nationals, but they never make it. your child is lost. the nationals come and go, so does summer, and now it's autumn. your child is lost and is probably dead, but you pray to whoever listens for them to please, please, still be alive.
then winter comes. your child is probably in the mountains. you hope that they don't freeze to death. that they have enough food. that they make it through with the support of their teammates.
winter goes and it's spring again. the anniversary of you losing them is upon you. people are giving up, you know they are, they say that your child can't be alive, not after a year. they bring up the andes crash. you refuse to bury an empty coffin.
as spring rolls into summer and then into autumn, slowly going into winter you cling desperately onto hope. whatever remains of it, anyway.
you awake some January day to the news of the yellowjackets being found. you hear one of your child's teammates name, the one who made the saving call.
and when the yellowjackets arrive home, your child is not there. nine return. how many left? what happened to them? you cry and you're angry, why did they get to come home? why not your child? why? what did they do?
and when you ask the parents of the survivors, you start to hope that your child died quickly. you hear tales of starvation and gore and cold. the survivors cry and vomit. they panic at the mentions of possibly looking for remains of those who didn't come back.
the media spread rumors. you turn away from the other parents. from the children. you are plagued with one thought. what if? what if your child was eaten? you never receive an answer.

According to old finnish folklore, having a wild animal wander into your house is an omen of death. The bigger the animal, the more imminent the death. A small bird, like a sparrow or a finch, is a sign that someone who lives in the house will die within the year. If the animal that has somehow made its way inside the house is a small mammal like a hedgehog, or a larger bird like an owl or raven, would mean that death is coming to visit in the next few months.
Massive megafauna, like a fully-grown moose or a bear, is a sign that someone will probably die within the next 20 minutes.

ALSO. BECAUSE I JUST SAW SOMETHING. "oh why did they make the baby a player??!?!" ARE YOU STUPID? LIKE GENUINELY. THE WHOLE POINT OF THE VIPS IS THAT THEY DONT GIVE A SHIT ABOUT HUMAN LIVES AND SEE THEIR DEATHS AS ENTERTAINMENT. AND ADDING A BABY TO THE GAMES MADE THEM EVEN MORE ENTERTAINING.
AND THEY USED CGI FOR IT BECAUSE REAL BABIES ARE VERY EASILY INJURED WHY ON EARTH WOULD THEY RISK POTENTIALLY KILLING A CHILD FOR A NETFLIX SERIES.
idk why people are so mad that junhees baby won the games. like obviously?? the baby represents hope that maybe not all people are not that bad, that they won't choose money over everything. I love that baby so much
