If I am ever asked in the afterlife what was the best part of life. I will say my children. being a mum means more to me than anything I've ever done or accomplished in this life. Six lives loved, nutured, guided, taught, and heard daily. Being a mum is everything.

The dumbing down of America is most evident in the slow decay of substantive content in the enormously influential media, the 30 second sound bites (now down to 10 seconds or less), lowest common denominator programming, credulous presentations on pseudoscience and superstition, but especially a kind of celebration of ignorance.”

One of the many shitty parts about not having a good mother are the moments when all you want to do it call your mother for a little moral support but you can’t because your mother isn’t that type of mother and even though you’ve known this for 27 years now you still find yourself mourning a mother you never had at 10pm when you’re having a moment and your only peace at that time is knowing your own daughter will never ever have to experience this kind of sadness and disappointment. That’s all. Thanks for coming to my ted talk.
