There are two spells that wizards use for translation. There’s Zandaqar’s Handy Translator, and Zymoria’s Flash of Fluency.

Zandaqar’s puts a ward over your ears that changes the shape of words spoken to you so that you hear them in your native language. It doesn’t do anything for grammar or word order, but you can basically brute force your way into understanding what someone else is saying.

Zymoria’s temporarily transforms your brain so that you are perfectly fluent in the next language you hear. The effects wear off in about an hour, and the spell is much more expensive than Zandaqar’s, but the cost is generally considered worth it.

Lingering idioms are a common side effect of Zymoria’s. Wizards often find themselves saying things such as, “My mouth is shut and the monkey is dead,” which kills in dwarvish but loses something in the translation.

Well most religions tend to have their own afterlives with some similarities, and typically you can only get into that afterlife if you are a part of that religion right?

So maybe Rakkar is starved for the "right" souls not because they only feed on Kryptonian souls, but maybe because the Kryptonian faith(s) are no longer practiced?

And therefore Superman would go to whichever afterlife is tied to his religion.

Superman issue #666 established that Krypton had its own hell that died with the planet. The comic itself is about the last Kryptonian demon, Rakkar the Nothing, who latched himself onto Kal-El's rocket and has been starving for years since the destruction of the planet, "with none of the right souls to feed him."

The implication seems to be that Kryptonian demons very specifically can only feed on Kryptonian souls, and learning this has raised in me approximately a hundred thousand theological questions. Was there a Kryptonian heaven? Did Kryptonian angels only accept Kryptonian souls? If Kryptonian hell was destroyed, was Kryptonian heaven also destroyed? What happened to all the Kryptonian souls that were in the Kryptonian afterlife? Most importantly, what's going to happen to Clark's soul when he dies? If Kryptonian heaven only accepted Kryptonian souls, does human heaven only accept human souls? What does that mean for Clark, because I assume he was raised Methodist
