when deli picks up a shoot, he never looks at who he’ll be working with before he shows up. he found this was a quick and easy way make his job feel less repetitive every day. operating with spontaneity and surprise is enough to shake things up for him in a somewhat routine job — and boy was this particular surprise an earth shaker. he had already been setting up equipment in the kitchen when he heard footsteps approach. a smile broke free when he saw it was messer. “hey, looks like i’m your guy this afternoon.” he didn’t miss the way that sounded, and quickly attempted to shoo away any semblance of callousness.��“well... obviously i’m not your guy. but we can pretend if that’ll make you stop looking at me like that the rest of the day.”

deli sighed. maybe this should’ve been the one time he looked at the schedule beforehand. it made sense that he would be working with someone in the culinary team; had he known it would be his ex... well, he probably would have given the shoot to someone else on his team. deli wasn’t oblivious to the fact that messer was avoiding him, so he had honored the distance until this point. he even assumed they ended things on a good note, or at least that was deli’s intention, but it didn’t matter much now. “is this okay for you? discomfort doesn’t make even a pretty boy like you look good on photos.” ( @mcssrs​ )

“tell me, what would you do for a free donut?” he asked to the first person he ran into. the guy’s question teemed with motive, as evidenced by the pink box in his hands. in the midst of lunch break, deli stepped back into the office with an assorted dozen from trejo’s across the street. in his mind — klondike bars? expired. donuts? always inspired! “one is yours for the taking, with the currency of my personal entertainment. you can cash in on a second pick if you actually do it.” he didn’t seriously need the participation and was about to give one regardless but who else, other than deli, would try to find out who passes the vibe check at vibez?

if anyone bothered to ask, 4pm was deli’s favorite time of the work day. it was close enough to clock out time where no one expected shit from him. deli made it known: he is entirely unresponsive by this time and would push any task handed to him, given that it isn’t a shoot, to the following day. fortunately on this particularly day, he had nothing left on his calendar or to-do list. unfortunately, with a swivel of his chair and a sideways trajectory, he was never too far from a particular casualty of his boredom. “aye, brady!” he tapped the male on the shoulder. “i got a passenger seat open later, destination leo’s tacos. we can chill at my place after. you down?”( ft. @brxdys​ )

as deli pulled into the parking garage, he caught a glimpse of a particular co-worker and couldn’t fight the shit-eating grin that broke through as he got out. he kept it cool, but mischief glinted in his eyes he caught up with the person in question. he can’t fully remember when it started, but one day he came to the realization. oh, vanessa is such a hater. people can dislike him all they want, but deli just finds it hilarious. “morning to you too ! psh nessie, baby, i thought we talked about this. it’s the year of hashtag waste vanessa’s time - duh.”

as she walked across the street to her job, she took one final look at the person next to her. “ rodrigo, coffee. now. “ she commanded, as the man handed her paper cup. “ good. thank you. leave. ” she further demanded, closing the door behind her.  the loud sound of her high heels clacking as she walked across the building echoed. she liked to make a statement with her heels, as it sent a message that she was arriving and to not to disturb her. walking up to the second floor, she didn’t care for distractions. “ good morning. is there anything i ought to know today ?? or are you merely here to waste my time ?? “

The thing about Deli is that he’s always eating — and that literally means always. He either has a snack on hand or is on the way to get some more. With his to-do list finished for the time being and nothing on his calendar for the rest of the morning, Deli was left to his devices and ended up deciding to catch up with his friends to see what they were up to. Various chats later, he racked his brain to think of who else he had yet to talk to, when he ran into the man himself while looking for some grub. “I was just looking for you!” He beamed. “My spidey senses were tingling and said Hunter is sulking over something again. Since I placed this bet on myself and you’re too predictable, you owe me five dollars now.” Deli joked, nudging his friend playfully. “Seeee, this is why we’re married. The big brain energy you have is... muah, chef’s kiss. T B H pizza day should be every day. I just bother the culinary team and bribe them to feed me when the menu isn’t hitting, I highly rec.”

The  Vibez  office  is  one  of  the  greatest  places  to  work.  Only  second  to  Google,  the  amenities  keep  employees  both  happy  and  entertained.  That’s  what  the  flier  said  when  Hunter  first  applied  here  as  an  intern.  And  while  It  wasn’t  lying,  his  excitement  about  bean  bags  and  yoga  rooms  were  quick  to  deflate  over  the  years.  His  desk  was  picture  perfect,  practically  untouched  compared  to  his  old  intern  desk.  Hunter  only  had  one  passion,  one  thing  he  truly  loved  more  than  himself,  and  It  was  photography.  Seeing  all  those  college  kids  doing  what  he  did  best—  It  almost  always  put  him  in  a  sour  mood.  Especially  when  he  was  stuck  making  quizzes  like  ‘screw  jk  rowling,  what’s  your  real  harry  potter  house?’.  And  that  was  only  today’s  nightmare.  That’s  why  you  could  almost  never  find  him  with  the  rest  of  his  team.  Like  right  now.  His  lunch  break  wasn’t  for  another  hour,  and  yet  here  he  was  at  food  services.  “Whoever  said  pizza  day  should  be  moved  to  fridays  instead  of  tuesdays  is  on  my  hit  list.”  He  mused  to  the  nearest  employee.  “What?  Like  you  need  anything  else  to  look  forward  to  on  friday?  It’s  friday.  You’ve  already  made  It  to  the  end.”

deli was bored. the mad lad was actually on top of his to-do list for once ( a shocker, he knows) and the next shoot he’s overseeing isn’t for a couple of hours. typical with deli, boredom leads him to seeking any ways to relieving it... a.k.a being a nuisance and bothering everyone. he knows deep down no one actually minds a couple unofficial breaks or two — that is the culture at vibez anyway — so this behavior of his is really only enabled.  he grinned when he saw a co-worker dancing to doja cat and without fully looking at who it was, quietly snuck up and danced along behind her. of the guy’s recent accomplishments, the traffic on his tiktok account due to the amount of dance challenges he’s participated in is up there. “don’t need to ask me twice,” he grinned. “ayee let’s do it — need help with the moves, friend? i gotchu!” 

alice propped her iphone up on her macbook before standing up and pressing the red ‘record’ button. the doja cat song that was circling around TikTok this weekend started blaring, and she quickly moved her arms around, dancing along to the choreographed moves she had been teaching herself for the past… hour or so. she laughed as she danced, the vain side of her hoping she was attracting some eyes in the process. in the middle of the dance, however, she screwed up an important jump, making her pout and quickly press end recording. she sat down to watch her work, before smiling at a person standing near her. “hey,” she said, pulling on their sleeve. “wanna make a tiktok with me?”

( manny jacinto, cis male, he/him ) have you heard about JAY DE LEON? they’re a TWENTY EIGHT year old TEAM LEAD in the PHOTOGRAPHY team. i don’t know what their last job was, all i know is that they’re originally from LOS ANGELES, CA. carol in hr said that they’re kinda HEDONISTIC and MISCHIEVOUS but jessica in marketing insists that they are JOVIAL and CHARISMATIC. at the end of the day, no one is worthy of the instant hype here. i just hope they get achieve their dream of being A TRAVEL PHOTOGRAPHER one day. According to the latest Vibez quiz, their Disney soulmate is Li Shang. ( pris, she/her, 23, pst ) 

BIO

deli is an la native all the way, literally grew up right in historic filipinotown and knows this city by heart

his family, which consisted of him, his two older bros, a little sis and a dog, were lower middle class, so they didn’t have a ton of free spending money but were able to get by. both his parents emigrated from the ph before he was born

school was never really his strong suit, at least when he was younger. he had other things he was interested in that didn’t involve studying and while his parents disciplined it was never really enough to change his behavior

what he does love? dance. while studying did indeed suck, he was able to at least keep his gpa up enough to stay on the dance team in high school

it was no question that he’d go to community college first to figure things out after graduating high school, because higher education was on the map..... it was just that he got sidetracked by other things 

things took a turning point, however, toward the end of his senior year when his father lost his job during the recession. both he and his dad sought out minimum wage jobs after that, & deli juggled his two part time jobs with school

his goal then was to transfer to a 4 year university, which he eventually did 3 years later and entered ucla as a transfer student

there, he resumed his passion for dance in various teams and was active in cultural orgs. it was also when he really started becoming a raver and never looked back. he had always been into photography, then capturing events really helped him grow in his craft 

as a result of his portfolio, he was invited to apply to vibez as intern for the summer after he graduated college

there was a part of him that was hesitant though, as his degree was unrelated (communications major, asian am minor) and he hoped to have a set job instead of an internship. but if you know deli, you know the guy is king of throwing caution to the wind

what started out as an internship to add some experience to his resume, soon became a permanent job on the photography team

he’s stayed put for the past 4 years, excited at actually being able to turn his passion into a career

besides that, the job was just fun. eventually, he worked his way up to lead and has been sitting in the position for nearly a year

a lot of people say he doesn’t take his job seriously, but deli would say that there’s nothing wrong with laughing and being a riot as long as you meet the deadlines

the change in leadership has kind of thrown deli off tbh -- he hates the faster turnaround and the idea of quantity over quality but who is he to say anything?
