you CANNOT read too much old timey fiction because I was playing Raft with the lads this morning and without a THOUGHT said we could sail over to another island "if the wind would consent to blow" & let me tell you. This did not pass by unremarked.

I love it when people depict Silver as slightly unhinged, especially when he's partnered with Sebek.

Because, yes, Silver does (try to) keep Sebek in check most of the time, and he is the type to restrain Sebek whenever he wants to throw down with someone (see B7). He's level-headed and generally mellow so it's a good counterbalance between their two personalities.

But I 100% believe that Sebek spent a lot of his childhood yelling at Silver to stop him from doing crazy stuff. Like Silver would try to jump off branches or cliffs 15ft high because he'd be like "the worst that can happen is breaking a bone or something" and Sebek would be at the base of the tree yelling at him to come down normally. Or Silver would befriend some wild animal like a mountain lion or bear and would be like "We should feed it" and Sebek would be like "No we should NOT"

Young Sebek was overly cautious while Young Silver had no regard for personal safety. It makes sense when you think about how Sebek was raised by two responsible parents who had two children before him, and Silver was raised by Lilia Vanrouge.
