more than anything else, gavilar was a fucking moron. i'm not over learning that he memorised the way of kings because he knew the first ideal was in there somewhere, but had no idea what, so he just kept guessing random sentences. dalinar became genuinely, sincerely devoted to a book his brother left him because he wanted dalinar to shout random words at the stormfather. christ.

it would've been so perfect. Thalia hangs out with Artemis everyday as her lieutenant and Apollo would've visited Jason in every free time after his punishment. A celestial twin for each of the Grace siblings. Apollo giving Thalia a ride to visit Jason or vice versa bimonthly. Artemis silently approve of Jason too like a boy who was raised by the wild, brother of her lieutenant, and someone who protected her twin when she couldn't? That lines up right her alley. She secretly gave him her blessings. Jason got offered to join in the hunting sometimes but he's too polite to accept lmao. Apollo being laughed at by Thalia after Reyna told her about the confession. Artemis visiting her brother only to find out he was hanging out in Jason's dorm eating fries upside down on Jason's bed while Jason himself sketched a new temple on his desk. Thalia is just mad she doesn't get invited.

Their dad might be the biggest jerk of the millennia, but at least they still have each other.

(Thalia and Artemis are both older sisters forced to watch their little brothers get taken away from them and unable to do anything about it. Jason and Apollo are little brothers disconnected from their sisters due to their father.)

every time I see a photo of a bear it’s like. that really is the ideal animal. large. fat. virtually indestructible. vaguely resembles both a large dog and a person. absolutely could and probably would maul me but nonetheless looks extremely huggable. 10/10 creatures, immaculate

i think jem (always described as good and kind and soft) talking about his feelings and his love in a way that is actually rather selfish is so insane.

like... he wants something, he wants tessa and will and he wants them to himself. he feels for them in a way that is greedy and selfish, and its depicted so beautifully in perfect contrast with the pristine image and idea you usually have of jem.

the jem who is "nothing but goodness", the jem who is usually depicted and seen as racional and calm — is also a jem that loves to the fullest. a jem that wants his loved ones for himself and himself only, who only allows himself to be this selfish and greedy for them.

it adds so much to his character because it's this greediness, this love that is so strong and big, that helps him keep his humanity during his years in the brotherhood. as long as he remembered will and tessa, he would always be james carstairs. he would not be brother zachariah. he would always be their jem.

I love how Jasnah and shallan are sisters in law and this is never acknowledged.

I like to imagine shallan, during her time being annoyed at her warship with Jasnah was like “technically we’re sisters so you shouldn’t be able to tell me what to do” and Jasnah is like “Yeah because I would never try to tell elhokar what to do, that would be crazy”
