Scottish drug death figures

This is an absolutely horrible statistic, and one that politicians have sat on their hands on for far too long.

It’s been almost a decade since a report into Scottish drug deaths where one of the key recommendations was for safe-consumption rooms.

Has that been implemented? No, because drug policy is reserved to Westminster. This isn’t passing the buck, because I think the Scottish government should now outright defy the British government and set up safe-drug consumption rooms.

It won’t solve the problem but it’ll be a start.
