Seth could practically feel the HEAT rolling off him — normally kind of sweet, but right now, that insistent poking was driving him up the wall. “ Ugh, seriously ? Can you not ? You're acting like a child,” he grumbled, aiming for STERN but landing somewhere closer to exasperated fondness. He’d lost his edge with this man, and honestly, it was embarrassing how much he didn’t mind.

Also just to address the argument of 'its not okay for Seth to put his hands on Horus the way he did for a WOMAN' direct quote from morons.
Bare in mind that Horus's first sexual encounter with Seth was through sexual assault. Yeah, he might have been controlled by the mirror, but it was still Horus, his body, doing that to Seth.
Seth may not have personally put hands on Nephthys after finding out about her infidelity, but he did force her to help him kill millions of women and children to build himself the strongest weapon imaginable. He needed her in order to do that. he also isolated her. she technically might not have been the real Nephthys, but the reason Seth wants to make things right is because of what he forced her to do. He was cruel to her too.
He beat his son, abused him to the point Anubis really thought Seth hated him because of how he was forced into protecting him. With Anubis, he did what he had to because it was the only way to keep Osiris from him and in the end, Osiris still got ahold of Anubis.
With Neph, he really thought she never loved him so his cruelty to her, for him? Felt justified.
Horus dealt his own hand when he knew the real Neph was in the mirror. When he knew Seth still wanted him family. when he knew Seth still loved Neph in some way. he claims to be the only one who truly love seth but if his love was so great, so confident, so strong? Why would we be threatened by her? And she is still HIS WIFE. Horus fucked up not telling seth about it. Seth thought his dream of having his family again was gone AND YES HE WAS STARTING TO SEE A FUTURE WITH HORUS. but that flew up in his face when he found out BY HATHOR THAT HE LIED TO HIM. Loyalty and trust is SO IMPORTANT TO SETH. Osiris lied to him again and again, and Horus just showed him he is no different than his father. like come ONNNN.
I understand horus being heartbroken that seth is choosing his family over him. BUT LIKE YALL LITERALLY JUST STARTING TO SEE EACH OTHER ROMANTICALLY. hes been wanting his family back for LONGER THAN YOUVE BEEN BORN. have can you blame him for wanting to be sure? for wanting to talk to his wife and get her side? For wanting to know more? he also is still coming to terms with being bi, still accepting his attraction towards men. its so unfair to label him as the bad guy in this when there's so much as to why he would be hesitant to stay with Horus.
I take back what I said about Horus reminding me of Hua Cheng. Cuz Hua Cheng would fucking never. Even if Xie Lian never choose him, he would never ever do anything to hurt Xie Lian or make him choose or none of that shit because his love was absolutely eternal. Horus was just playing at devotion.

Hello. It was unexpected to receive a detailed answer to my question. Thank you very much for your time! Yes, you answered my question. I agree that being inside the mirror affected Horus. I think Sekhmet is obviously influencing him. I remembered the chapter in which Horus, when he saw the love marks on Seth's body, fell into a stupor. Then a mental image of Sekhmet that appeared next to him tried to push him to assault Seth.
But it would be interesting if the gods who wanted Horus to ascend could also influence him through the mirror. Since the mirror is also about despair, and a quarrel is a good moment for control.
I agree that it's weird that Osiris hasn't punished Horus yet. And such a tolerant attitude is not in the character of Osiris. Sometimes I get the feeling that Horus is somehow beneficial to him. It is unlikely that he is holding back because of Isis.
I think the image of Osiris appeared in Seth's mind for two reasons: he couldn't move because Horus' grip was too strong and because of this he remembered Maat's warning. And it seemed to me that such a moment was needed in order to show how Seth, even after the trigger, brushes off the intrusive thoughts.
I am glad you liked it ! I don't know if all the gods can really control the mirror, i think the ones it belongs to are the ones who are really in control but it is in their best interests that Horus ascends. The two biggest players I wanna see more of right now are Ra and Osiris. Ra has it out for him, and Osiris had just been too quiet for my liking.
but yeah as for the last one, I think its important that people still know that Seth has trauma. Its not Horus's intent to trigger him, but he does. He gets rough, and Seth doesn't like it. Sekhmet said it was his core weakness, because Osiris took advantage of him. that whole night destroyed him, made him feel weak and its why he has to find ways to remain strong. to protect himself and make sure it never happens again.

@yuesunlang
Hello! Firstly, thank you!
On this, I have one or two thoughts. I really feel like Horus has already been affected by the mirror. I was re-reading back through earlier chapters, he's already been inside the mirror once. I really don't think that he would just go in and come out completely unaffected.
I think there's some truth to what Hathor was saying. When she gave him the mirror, it was clear to Horus that this wasn't just for nothing. she had intentions with it, even if at the time they had no idea what.
When Isis asked Thoth for help, he advised her to go to the Sun God.
the mirror itself is still a mystery to me despite all the info we've been given, because shes clearly watching something in here. in chapter 13 we learn that Horus tells Isis about the mirror. Isis asked if the mirror is cursed and Horus replied:
if we take this into account, the mirror being what horus needs, what does he actually need. I know we all think its seth. that he feels its seth but what if it isn't. but also, if this is Ra's intention that Horus have this mirror, then it could also be setting him up for sabotage. We know right now the other gods want Horus to ascend. his love for seth is holding him back, and it might be why in the end he broke the mirror.
after the first challenge, we see hathor again
this makes me curious, what would she get in trouble for? whatever their plan is, it def seems to add that horus is going to fall in love with hathor and it feels like it just needed to be activated if that makes sense. except--
Hathor says shes the only one who can 'win over mother' as long as horus becomes hers. it changes the panel to show Sekhmet here and I wonder if they are both aiming to try and win Ra over something. but then seth shows up
it zooms back in on Hathor's side, and we also show Horus picking up the mirror while all this is happening. I think Hathor was already doing to show her reflection to horus but seth got in the way and his face is what showed and what a face it was lmao
the issue tho, is that horus already loves him. when he goes into the mirror is where i believe Sekhmet is taking over. letting him see Nephthys. when horus first assaulted seth, he did so under the mirrors influence, i wonder if part of Horus is still in the mirror, or sekhmet can really just control his lust because he looked into the mirror already. because looked like a mindless beast, and then again in the bath where his eyes changed. it was like he was a whole different person.
same thing that I feel about his crash out. horus has always been calm, its so rare to see him actually lash out like that, i dont think hes ever. it felt like it wasn't him, not fully. all i saw was osiris. my theories are either, someone is able to control him whether its the mirror itself, or a 3rd party. they want him to ascend, so them having a fall out like this is almost to ensure they dont get back together and horus stays on track with his destiny,
my other theory is kind of reaching, but what if Osiris can somehow get through Horus? Horus IS his son, how do we know Osiris doesn't have influence over him, even not known to horus? it just strikes me as weird that he hasnt tried to punish horus yet. and I get that Osiris probably hasnt had a chance to, but that scene in the bathtub was the first time we saw Osiris (even if it was just in seths head) but it had to mean something.
#‣ ooc. your queen is speaking ── .✦#i dont know if this answered your question i rambled#but i really think the mirror had something to do with how horus reacted to seth#like the mirror just amplifies his feelings to the point they are toxic#cuz his love for him is very much not normal

I ve never wanted to murder someone more, i am mad i am fuming i am one step away of comiting atrocities and this is not helping
This has ruined my day and the day has not even started
The only good thing about this chapter is this failed abortion gets a sliver of what he deserves
And also that i was right, the apple doesn't fall far from the tree. Like father, like son

Also this mothherfucker, expected but uncalled for.
Actually i think this character is just a waste of time, he has done nothing and he brings nothing to the table so any focus on him is useless.
Also everyfucking time thing seem to focus on nephtys and advance her arc the narriteve focus just shifts. I'm now getting convinced mojito just doesn't fucking want to write her arc (that implies a conversation and possible reconciliation with seth)
Also what i'm refering to is the last scenes with fg/zeus who i said already, is unecessary
#i dont hate horus but i a really glad theres someone else who isnt completely babying horus#cuz his actions were not okay#nothing about the way he handled the situation was okay#and im tired of ppl acting like seth is selfish#or talking bad about neph because god forbid he still cares about his wife#「 ennead spoilers 」#「 metas 」 ── .✦ ❛ stories written on a wall ❜ ⭑.ᐟ

TRIGGERING CONTENT AHEAD BE WARNED
I love this scene, and this is another thing that makes me mad that people refuse to see Seth's side of things. They are making love, and half way through Horus starts to get aggressive. Seth has already told him multiple times how much he DOESN'T like it.
The interesting part of this though, is this is the first time Seth has come back to seeing Osiris in Horus. Horus is Osiris's son, and it still strikes me as odd that Osiris hasn't acted out in anyway towards Horus on how many times he has had sex with Seth and his affection towards him. He sewed Anubis's lips shut after Anubis kissed Seth. he killed that old caravan leader for even LOOKING at Seth. its very weird to me that he hasn't tried anything yet to punish Horus.
When Seth starts to feel Horus getting rough, his mind takes over and he feels like he is with Osiris. Seth's whole experience with homosexuality has been through sexual assault. being with horus is a real learning curve for him and hes still learning how to be open and accepting to it. Horus keeps crossing boundaries, and in this instance, he drew him back to the source of all his trauma. he reminded him of Osiris.
Look at his face in the second panel? he's absolutely terrified. people argue he has a problem with masculinity? yeah, because men have shown him that he is weak and someone they can just take advantage of when they want. a lot how men think of that with women. When Seth learned about the kind of behavior people were acting in his name, selling women and children as sex slaves, he was DISGUSTED. He was ashamed ! He was so upset with himself that HE allowed that to happen, and he had to experience time and time again because people think they can take what they want.
Horus is no exception to this. People argue that he just loves Seth so much, that he's excited. that's NOT a fucking excuse to constantly break a boundary. Seth doesn't like it, he's said several times he doesn't like it. It makes him feel like he can't fight back, it takes him back to the first assault. Horus might be younger than him, but hes still a grown ass adult who if he claims he's better than his father should really start to act like it. because in the latest chapters? All I've seen is him act like Osiris, and I really feel like its not a coincidence at this point.
but one thing I like about this scene is it shows how this trauma just doesn't go away even if it is with someone you care about. Seth is still trying to accept himself in liking men, and it TAKES TIME.

I feel bad more for Seth because, Seth already had a hard time trusting. he gave himself to Horus. HE GAVE HIMSELF TO HORUS BELIEVING HE LOVED HIM.
Yes we know Horus DOES love him, but now that trust has been shattered by the mirror (heheh) and its worse now because Horus just proved he did in fact LIE.
i don't feel bad for Horus here cuz I know him leaving Neph there was absolutely going to bite him in the ass. The fact that Horus knew how much Seth still cared for Neph. Still really wanted to keep his promise to Anubis but didn't say anything cuz he choose his feelings over Seth's. and that was selfish to do.
I do know Seth and Horus are going to be a thing, but winning that trust back is going to be hard. Because Seth already doesn't like the idea of the mirror being the one making Horus love him. After everything he has done too, like for Seth hearing that? It would make sense. and i mean, finding out from Hathor instead of Horus is also a big no no, like that should have come from Horus completely. WHEEZE.

I wish ppl could understand that Seth can still love and respect his wife without needing to hate her. And that he can still love Neph without being IN love with her.
I swear it’s inukik all over again. Keep in mind Seth still doesn’t know the neph he thinks cheated on him wasn’t actually his Neph.
He still doesn’t know that Horus isn’t telling him that either. He doesn’t know about the mirror.

❛ You're not supposed to admit that, you idiot, ❜ Seth mutters, voice barely above a whisper. He still can’t figure out what twist of fate put Horus at his side, waiting for him, wanting nothing in return. It was one thing to know who he came from—Isis and Osiris, names heavy as stone—but Seth had always felt Horus had a strange distance from both of them, some invisible fault line that set him apart. Horus, for all his warmth and blazing presence, never asked for anything. That, more than anything, unsettled Seth. In his world, every favor came with a price tag, an exchange, a hidden ledger somewhere. Yet Horus wanted nothing but his company, and the not-knowing gnawed at him.
Giving in easily never sat well with Seth. He’s stubborn by nature—proud, rough, and coarse like the sand he controlled. But Horus had dangled a far better alternative in front of him. Anything was better than another night in that greasy apron, serving up food to humans who barely looked him in the eye. ❛ Monday, ❜ he says, the word hanging in the air like a promise. That buys him tonight and the weekend to breathe, to remember what it feels like to rest. Weekend. Seth nearly snorts. The idea that humans believed two days could make up for five spent in servitude was almost funny. He’s lost in his own thoughts, barely hearing Horus’s delighted ramble at his surrender. Instead, his attention lingers on the tiny detail that haunts him. The way his hand stayed pressed against Horus’s, warm and solid and grounding.
He can’t help but notice: Horus is bigger than him in every possible way. Not intimidating, exactly—Seth still believes, if it came down to it, even now, he could still hold his own. But there’s something about Horus's size that makes Seth feel like it’s safe to let his guard down, to tuck himself away in all that warmth and strength. That realization sends panic skittering through him. His heart stutters, and suddenly he’s acutely aware of the smile he can feel blooming on Horus’s lips, even without looking. Horus gently nudges him, coaxing his gaze back, and Seth’s eyes lock on those impossible eyes—sky and ocean at once. Seth’s always hated water, and yet Horus makes drowning seem like something he could bear, maybe even crave.
His cheeks burn, heat flaring up his neck. Horus’s voice slides across his skin, soft and cool, and it nearly undoes him. Desperate for a distraction, Seth pushes his hair back, careful not to shake off the hand still cradling his cheek. ❛ Tch, of course. My beauty is legendary, after all. It deserves to be adored and admired, ❜ he manages, letting that old, familiar arrogance slip back into place like armor.
❛ Don’t ask such idiotic questions, ❜ he says, trying for stern, but his voice shakes, heart rattling in his chest. Part of him wonders if Horus has forgotten his own responsibilities tonight—Seth knows he has work left to do. The idea that Horus might have ditched it all for him sends something dangerous and sweet flaring in his chest. ❛ I guess my schedule did clear up thanks to someone, ❜ Seth adds, clinging to bravado that’s slipping away by the second.
The teasing is just noise now, background static against the sudden heat prickling under his clothes. He feels exposed, stripped bare by nothing more than a look. Celebrate him ? Horus’s gaze drops to his lips, intent and hungry, and Seth finds his own eyes drawn helplessly to Horus’s mouth. He’s never thought about it before—what Horus’s lips might taste like, how they might feel pressed to his. Now he can’t stop. Would they be soft? Would they steal the air from his lungs? He swallows, throat suddenly tight with longing, aching to find out.
"Then I am mad." Horus agrees; his smile does not falter. Seth broods over the finer details of pride, and Horus refuses to see the big picture. This atonement that Seth is expected to undergo is a petty deity endeavor. But even petty things are taken seriously. Horus does not care for those rules. He thinks Seth has done nothing to deserve this humiliation and belittlement by the gods, which would have crumbled under identical pressure. He sympathizes but does not pity his uncle; that is the last thing Seth would have appreciated, and the feathered nuisance knows it. Let him be mad then, and crazy, and utterly insane, but as long as Seth accepts his help.
He notices the stuttering eyelashes, the way Seth stills and looks away. His scarlet tresses are a miraculous sight; it is a reminder that as long as Seth lives, the bloodied sunsets of the Sahara desert continue to bless their sacred lands. Horus swallows thickly, minutely flustered by their closeness. He can see every curve of Seth's face, those marble perfections that he memorized from afar. The god of war has a straight nose that offers a symmetry Horus is utterly taken by. He cannot stop staring at a painting that lives on without a gallery. Seth's presence resembles a trip to a museum, and Horus lost the way out. These poetic metaphors Horus learned from the hopeless romantics that assembled in a small crowd on the upper half of the lecture hall, always thirty minutes early for Horus' class. Overhearing their philosophy, Horus picked up on analogies that he often assigned to Seth. Eyes are like a sunset. Hair like a river of blood from a valiant battle. Lips like the clouds after a thunderstorm. He could continue on.
Horus erupts in a gasp and grins. "Quit? Really!?" Horus beams as his heart races. It means Seth will spend mornings with him, working side by side, then going to lunch together, or maybe Horus will find a minute to spare to cook. And then he would come home on rare occasions to see Seth sleeping at a reasonable time. "This is great news, I will tell my employer immediately. You can start whenever you'd like. But you should rest first because if-" their hands lace together amid Horus' passionate barrage of unending promises. His celebration halts as he catches the lingering hand in his own. The demi-god's fingers trace his counterpart's. His hand is larger, and it easily cradles Seth's within a warm palm. He stares at the averted face, blinking away the haze of contact.
"Like...what?" He asks suddenly, voice quiet. Horus' breath travels from his parted lips to Seth's clothed shoulder. He remembers that his uncle is wearing his shirt, sinking deeply under the fabric twice as large as him. Horus is mute for a moment as his eyes dance about the side of Seth's face. "I like looking at you." He mutters as his unoccupied hand reaches before he registers his actions. The demi-god cups the deity's cheek to guide his face back. Horus seeks Seth's eyes, now parallel to him as his breath hitches, afraid to ruin this sudden moment.
"Do you think you are free this evening?" Horus suddenly asks, at once forgetting the shifts he signed up for. The deliveries, the bouncer guardianship, and the potential bartendering all take a seat on the back burner. Horus' face lingers close as he hovers, undecided. His eyes are pinned atop Seth's mouth, ogling his full bottom lip like a hawk locking in on its prey. Horus bites the inside of his cheek, brushing his thumb along Seth's cheekbone.
"I'd like to," Horus starts, his face washing over with uncertainty. "I'd like to celebrate you."
