Here is a collection of my favourite projects I have worked on so far this semester.
The geometric faces challenged my skills on breaking down faces to simple shapes. Using colour was also a challenge because I've never really had to think about what colour goes with what when it comes to portraits.
The wandering eye is probably my absolute favourite. I was able to work with amazing people and collide all our ideas onto one page which worked out really well. The duo tone was quite difficult to figure out as we all had different preference of colours.
The poster was a super fun project to work on. The first project we did influenced the way this one turned out.
And lastly my calender. It was so rewarding to see it completed at the end. There is still some flaws that I want to fix to strengthen it however.
I feel like this was a very successful semester. I could have used time more widely to get everything completed to its fullest potential but in the end I feel like it all worked out ok

Last project for the year!
I decided to create a logo for a mini company that sells bottles and with each Proffitt made it helps charities with the research of bugs.
I am happy with the simple yet flowy typography choice. I wanted it to appear natural and elegant while complementing the illustration. I love the grey version of the logo, it is quite subtle and ties in everything.

Logo design created from a brief that was thought it in class. I was designing for a group that assists busnisses take further steps in becoming successful. It had to be minimal and clean. I feel like I could have spent a lot more time on this logo to properly refine it. I played around with letter spacing for a bit until I asked for the end product.

Inspired by Kyle Tezak's four icon side project.
I decided to give the movie Sweeny todd a go and I am happy with the results. I knew that I was going to do something to represent London, a pie and a shaving knife but it took me a while to figure out what I could do for the fourth one until I realised the chair played a significant role in the film. I feel like I could have played around with the colour scheme a little more to find something more fitting for the movie. I do however like the way I used the colour as messy shapes rather than neat and clean.

It’s finally coming together! I’m absolutely loving the layout and how it’s all looking together. I’ve been experimenting with a couple more different eye designs because the one in the first image doesn’t seem to really fit.

Some lead up work for our upcoming flat magazine.
We are basing this magazine on woman empowerment, equality and inspiring women. the colour scheme is a “fleshy” pallet. we have been experimenting with different ways we can approach it and change it around a little. I have been working on illustrations and logos for the magazine. I wanted to keep them simple and organic to bolster the idea of the magazine.

My calender design
The theme for this calender was nature. I wanted to take a more abstract approach by using simple shapes and earthy colours to create what appears to be mountains. I added the multi layers to add more interest to the calender.
What will I do differently next time?
I would reconsider how I approach the cut out design. It looks cool and everything but it isn't really practical. The edges are very thin and fragile making it difficult to flip between months. The binding also adds to the difficulty of flipping between months.
What was successful?
I absolutely love the colour scheme of this calender. I think it captures the idea of nature with subtle earthy colours. The binding also adds more personality to the calender aswell.

We were briefed on making an A4 portrait print advertisment for our future magazine "the wandering eye".
As you can see in some lead up sketches, I was playing around with different ideas on how I can make a cool looking eye that can add interest to my advertisment to engage audience and to hint at the concept of the wandering eye.
I took an illustrative approach with this advertisment and kept the colours neutral.
I deffinalty could have played around with the font alot more to make it more interesting.

In week 6, we were given the task to design a t-shirt using appropriation. My idea was to take the Bob Marley song "three Little birds" and twisted the "dont worry about a thing" to comment on the many political and heated discussions that occur on twitter.
I feel like I could have experimented more with type but at the same time I wanted to keep it clean and simple.

A couple of photos that inspired my calender colour scheme, main element and binding. I love how simple and clean it appears

A quick illustrator exercise in class. We created number plates and had to come up with a font to contribute to the design. i need to work more on how i structure some letters such as the ‘s’ and ‘w’. over all i am impressed how they have turned out.
