violinist-oliver:
“Do you mind? Im a little busy.” he muttered in a dry tone without lifting his focused gaze away from his sheet music covered in cluttered scribbles and symbols that made more sense in his head rather than how it appeared written down. “-and your distractions aren’t exactly helping..” he added lastly in a more stressed tone of voice rather than the cold tone he spoke in before.
Juniper didn’t get a chance to get a word in after accidentally dropping a music stand and was hoping she was alone in the room but when she heard another’s voice, she finally turned around, cursing under her breath. “Listen,” she started as she picked up the stand and walked further in the room, “a please goes a long way with most people,” she sat down in a chair, “but that tone of yours isn’t helping you make me a smiley-er or nicer person as you didn’t even try to help me either, shame.” She spoke in monotone before leaning back in the chair, “but sure, I’m hiding out anyways.”

“it will be, i promise.” he reassured her with a tip of his head. it was probably even better than them hiding out in either of their places, because it was in a way right in the open. stefan reached up to take one of her hands in his own as he moved away from their embrace, a warm smile on his lips while he grabbed the handle with his other hand. “come on,” stefan decided to just forget the talk about them and go on with what he had planned. for now they could just be together and he could give her the best date he could cook up without actually getting caught. “you’re going to love this study date. history of film… a thrilling subject to learn about. you may reconsider design,” he joked, releasing her hand while he moved through the door and led the way out of the building.
“i trust you,” she told him which in itself was something big, you couldn’t trust easily in their lifestyle, so her trusting him and being open about it was something that was bigger than three little words. she gladly took his hand and entwined their fingers for a moment, following him. “is that so?” she mused, wondering where he was talking them, her assumption was the movies, a dark place, in public, they could hold hands and no one would even know. But then again, he could be completely unpredictable so she wasn’t going to get excited about going to the movies just in case she was wrong even though, she did wanted to go to movies now. “so, are you going to tell me where we’re going or is it a big ole surprise? cause i don’t do well with surprises,” she mused.

stefan-wolfe:
once the door was opened and she revealed herself on the other side, welcoming him with a smile, he relaxed just a bit and stepped into her room. “i’ve got a different place in mind,” he answered with a nod, quietly closing the door behind him and then resting his back against it. “if that’s okay,” stefan added with a smile of his own as he looked her over for a second. now that they were alone though, he moved to her and wrapped her in his arms, lips brushing her forehead. “how much longer do you think we’ll have to hide this?” stefan whispered after a few moments of silence, almost having forgot what it felt like to just hold her.
she raised her brow, trying to figure out wherever could they go but she was going to wait on asking about it. “of course, yeah, as long as you think it’s safe,” juniper admitted as she didn’t want it to be anywhere they could get caught or hurt. with his arms around her, she rested her hands on each side of his neck, looking at him, closing her eyes briefly when he kissed her forehead. “i don’t know, i don’t want to risk anything,” she whispered back as she understood the want to be public about them but she feared for their lives.

stefan-wolfe:
closed starter for @designingjuniper
he stood outside of her door, staring at the large slab of wood and hesitating to knock. he had been on dates before and never really had much problem with nerves but now that he was about to go on one with her, it was like a first one all over again. and it was, of course, one that she wasn’t aware of. but the less both of them knew, the better. or so he assumed. as far as she did know though, was she was going to help him study for a ‘test’ he had told her he had coming up. stefan looked down each end of the hallway before taking a deep breath and knocking on her door, waiting patiently for her to answer.
juniper was happy to get alone time with stefan even if that meant just studying for a test, something she wasn’t even sure if she could be of any help as they did have two different majors but she didn’t mind trying. she was on her bed, waiting for him on her ipad, working on her latest project for class when she heard the knock on her door making her get up and answering it, smiling softly at him. “hey,” she spoke, moving to the side, “wanna study here or go to your place?” she wondered.

stefan-wolfe:
though his lips were pressed together to conceal what he was feeling for the girl, the corner of his mouth curved at her response. stefan ran his fingers through his hair before pulling the hood of his coat over his head. “oh yeah? and how exactly would you rate my outfit?” stefan grinned, motioning down to what he was wearing. “is this model worthy?” he added in the same playful tone before he looked back to her. “hm, me too. when’s your next class… exactly?”
she wasn’t as surprised when he asked about his outfit, making her check him out as discreetly as she could just in case before humming slightly. “i would say, definitely model worthy.” she replied, biting her lower lip before he asked about her next class and she thought for a moment, “maybe in like twenty to thirty minutes, why? what’s up?” she wondered, as she wanted to know what was going in his mind, she was out of her league and she wasn’t sure how to act around him.

“Okay and this tattoo I got it when I was like… eighteen.” he recalls as he pointed at one of his tattoos, having no idea how the person got him to explain what each tattoo on his body was.
Juniper was always curious when it came to tattoos and what would get someone to get something so permanent even though she did have one herself, it made her wonder about other people. “Are there any more?” She asked, a small smile on her face that didn’t look genuine.

stefan-wolfe:
he waited until she was looking at him to give a big roll of his eyes, cracking the smallest of smiles but his amusement clearly showing. he nearly reached for the girl with the intention to plant a kiss on her, but then remembered that they couldn’t do that here. his head slowly tilted back to the spot he had been distracted by, hands moving to grip the straps of his book bag. “thats where it happened,” stefan didn’t hesitate to tell her, teeth capturing his bottom lip as he looked to her again. “it’s all good though. i’m fine, really. i think that’s why i was zoned out a while longer…” he shrugged his shoulders and flashed a smile. “now what luck do i have to run into you first thing? and it was one of more smoother entrances, might i add.” stefan whispered but made sure to turn his gaze elsewhere.
hearing him speak about that day made her frown slightly but not too much, never too much she reminded herself because to the outside she was pretending but her heart wanted to embrace him right there and tell him that she’s happy that he can feel okay about it but she nodded instead, a small smile. “I’m happy that you’re here, okay might I add.” juniper whispered to him, her eyes never leaving his face just in case his attitude didn’t match his words. “designing outfits for my class, the best models are the ones that’s not looking,” she joked lightly as she held her tablet up a bit for him to see it. “besides that, i would still be in bed, working.”

stefan-wolfe:
stefan had originally planned on skipping his classes for that day. he hadn’t really been on campus since the attack, a fear of walking past that same spot again as he had no other way of getting there. however, his grades were already bad enough and so he forced himself out the door that morning. his eyes were focused on the corner where it had happened, feeling as though time had slowed while he moved past it. but as he kept his eyes locked to it, he found it had become a lot easier to cope with and the thought of that brought a small smile to his lips. just before he could turn his eyes from the patch of grass where he once lay those few weeks past, his shoulder slammed into the lamp post and his body swayed to the side with a huff. “dammit,” stefan muttered as he moved back onto the path and eyes shifting to the person who had witnessed the collision, cheeks immediately turning red. “that was… totally on purpose?”
she was outside with her tablet, using designs from the people’s outfits walking by the school before her eyes caught sight of stefan, his eyes on a spot before hitting a post making her hold back laughing. when he looked at her, she raised her brow at him. “hotshot, good look trying to convince me of that,” she teased lightly as she wanted to tell him she saw the whole thing but she didn’t as she got up and walked over to him. “what caught your attention so badly that you got into a pole fight?” juniper was doing her best to hold back anything that would show someone that her attitude was changed by him.

stefan-wolfe:
“mhm,” he hummed immediately after her question, eyes flickering between hers and the appearance of yet another one of her smiles. stefan thought about the possibility of her continuously leaving to visit him being suspicious to both the cameras that covered the school grounds, and even of any potential ‘guardians’ of sorts that either of their father’s could have sent to watch over them. he did always wonder how news traveled so fast to his father anyway. “well, we’ll go back and forth. they know we’re friends anyway, right?” stefan insisted, lifting his shoulders. “just don’t kiss me where anybody can see and we’ll be alright,” he added with a smirk, leaning forward to steal a kiss just for his own amusement — and because he felt so drawn to them ever since she planted one on him. “all you have to do is smile more. i’ve been deprived ever since we met…”
“i’m not really, used to smiling for real,” she admitted in a whisper because she faked more smiles than she could count but the genuine ones came because of him by far. hearing his solution, she nodded swiftly, “yeah, they know we’re friends and that what they will continue to think,” juniper spoke because that what she wanted, no problems to cause this freshly blossom feelings get crushed by the weight of their families. when he kissed her once again, the fire in the pit of her stomach flourished for those few seconds. “you’re really low maintenance, huh?” she teased slightly before kissing his cheek, “i promise to keep this between us and to smile more, just for you.”

stefan-wolfe:
he let his eyes shift to her lips and the smile that stretched on them, studying it while he could and tracing his thumb over her bottom lip. “you should smile more often,” stefan whispered as he tilted his head back, meeting her stare once more and flashing a smile of his own. “i have my own place back home, y’know? no cameras follow people outside of campus. it’s how i’ve been able to keep this on the down low,” he explained, hand lightly resting over one of the recently healed scars — still sensitive to the touch. “only reason people know is because carson freaked and told a few people. looks like he’s got some competition now though, since he is absolutely, one hundred percent my boyfriend.” stefan chuckled quietly, hand moving into one of hers. “if you want this, we can make it work… but only on one condition…” he trailed off with a raise of his brow, the smile plastered to his lips.
her lips parted slightly when he brushed her bottom one, not expecting that or the words that came out of his moments later. “is that so?” she whispered back, a smile reappearing out of habit it seemed, still small though. hearing his words made her shake her head slightly mostly out of amusement. “is that so? but wouldn’t it be suspicion if i start spending more time over there over the campus? i don’t want anyone to put two and two together but i also don’t want to stop this from developing. so i have competition?” the raven-haired girl teased slightly to him, knowing it was easy for her to be friendly without a facade about it. “what condition is that?” she wondered, not sure what his proposal would be for them to start something between them.

stefan-wolfe:
“it was very stupid,” he echoed her words, though he spoke it with a playfulness that rang through his voice, a small grin forming afterward. her next words were exactly how he had been feeling too, the only difference was he had felt this way for someone before but he had long forgotten just how terrifying and exciting it was. he didn’t think he’d ever find the feeling again but clearly he was wrong. stefan, with a quiet exhale reached beneath her jaw and curved his hand to her cheek, turning her head back to his. “just don’t forget that this is your fault,” he teased her before leaning forward to give her a soft kiss, just so that she knew exactly what it was he was feeling for her. “so, what do you propose we do about this?” stefan asked after leaning his head back, lips still hovering hers. “we’d be a lot better off trying to ignore it… if we can…"
a chuckle left her mouth when he echoed her but it was short-lived as she was still in her mind, trying to figure out he ended up being the one to break her wall down, how he made it so easy to want things. her eyes met his when he turned her face. she rolled her eyes with a small smile on her lips before she felt his against hers again and she couldn’t stop herself from kissing back just as softly. her mind clouded, trying to remember the feel and taste of his lips on hers to barely registering his words just barely. “i don’t know, all i know is that i don’t ever want to stop feeling your lips on mine,” juniper told him because it was truthful. “but our fathers would never agree to allowing this so how are we going to keep this a secret with the cameras?”

stefan-wolfe:
his eyes grew wide when she pulled his face to hers, their lips meeting in a vigorous kiss. despite the surprise he felt for the sudden action from the girl, he couldn’t help but melt into it, eyes closing as his hand came up to rest over one of hers. stefan cared for this girl but he didn’t realize the extent of that feeling until that very moment. his heart raced against his chest and his cheeks turned a soft shade of pink as the heat of the moment rose to them. however, with the burst of emotions came a panic that he knew he couldn’t ignore. whatever this was couldn’t happen — technically it was forbidden, given who their families were. and so he pulled his head back and let himself catch his breath, though it took a few seconds longer than he would’ve hoped as it clearly showed her affect on him. “shit,” stefan groaned, fingers moving through his hair. “we can’t do this…” his eyes fell to her lips then, the desire clear but with a deep breath he looked away. “it could literally get one of us killed.”
she didn’t expect for him to kiss back, she didn’t expect to even kiss him but she did and he did and the part that made her feel different exploded with something she wasn’t acquainted with but she wasn’t stupid, she knew damn well it was feelings for stefan, something that she didn’t realise was possible. she convinced herself that feeling things were weak, hell, her father convinced her that loyalty was all that mattered and everything else was just for convenience or to use so the whole thought of having genuine romantic feelings scared the shit out of her but she yearned for it now, for him. hearing his voice took her out of her little trance, the smile on her lips dropping as she looked away from him like he did her. “i know... that was stupid, i shouldn’t have done that,” juniper admitted before looking at him again, “but i want to do it again. and i never... felt this way before, about anyone.” she admitted to him because like she promised, no secrets.

stefan-wolfe:
he couldn’t help the warmth that filled him when she returned the hug, especially because it wasn’t expected. it had been a long time since he had been in the embrace of another… it had been a while since he had allowed anyone that close to him — that close to his injuries. it almost felt like her embrace was a form of healing for the lad. they were close the two of them, but they had never been that close. “looks like our lives just got a whole lot more complicated.” stefan stated, lips pursed together as his eyes fell on her and he took a few paces back to lower himself back down on the bed. “i trust everything you’ve said, i want you to know that. just… please be patient with me. the last time a person i loved got involved in this world… it didn’t go so well.” he admitted as he turned his gaze to his hands as they folded in his lap. “despite how upset i got, i still wish i didn’t know who you really are. it’s going to suck knowing that what happened to me can also happen to you because of who our fathers are.”
juniper was out of it, from the admission to the hug, her mind was clouded by how different things were in her life. so when he removed himself from the hug, she sat next to him, feeling a bit lightheaded about everything, her loyalty obviously was to stefan now, she was proving that over and over again and she wasn’t sure why, why he had that effect over her. but a part of her that didn’t feel weird, enjoyed it. “okay, of course,” she replied a little breathy. hearing his words, the thought of everything they both went through and made it out alive was something she started to think about more making her look at him. “don’t worry about me, i always been a fighter, and i fight for what matters, like you,” she told him before she took his face in her hands so he could look her in her eyes, she had more to say but her body moved before her mind could process what she was doing, her lips against his a bit too rough but also there was softness in it, her entire body felt on fire.

stefan-wolfe:
with a slow breath to follow her response, he looked to her and nodded. there really wasn’t much else he would expect her to say. he was just grateful that she had his own safety in mind too, but part of him worried for that. he knew what their fathers were capable of and he feared that maybe her father would do what his father would do if he found out stefan had been keeping secrets from him. he wouldn’t wish that treatment on anyone. “just… make sure you’re keeping your own well being in mind too, alright? if he finds out you’re lying, you can tell him whatever you want to save yourself.” stefan added in a soft tone as he finally approached the other, grin beginning to show once he got to her. “just let it happen, j.” he chuckled and then wrapped her in his embrace, holding it a few seconds longer than he originally intended - just because he knew it wasn’t something she wanted… or at least admit to enjoying. “but… you’d go after me if you’re father told you to?” stefan asked after processing that bit, brows knitting in confusion as he stepped back and caught her eye.
she didn’t know what was worse, them caring too much or their families being each other’s worst enemies. but she was breed to be a heartless monster but somehow he became her soft spot and she didn’t know how she felt about it. “i’ll just make sure he doesn’t find out,” she replied because that was the only option, she didn’t want to think of any other outcomes. “bu-,” she sighed before letting him hug her and she felt warm inside as she hugged him back, she couldn’t remember the last time she hugged someone, after all, in their world, hugs aren’t common, maybe a pat on the back or a high five but hugs felt tabooed. so she melted in his embrace without meaning to as she closed her eyes. but his words took her out of the peace she felt in his arms. “i...” she didn’t even know in that moment, would she? but then her answer shocked herself, “no.”

“Who the fuck are you to be telling me what to do and what in your delusional mind makes you think I’ll listen to shit you have to say?” Jayson sat up now, perfectly manicured hands moving her sunglasses up to rest on top of her head while her chocolate hues glared daggers at the girl. “Okay apparently you must not be aware that people actually lay down on the beach to get a fucking tan and news flash that’s what I was doing. Also, who the hell would want sand in their face whether they’re okay with being on the beach or not? How about this, you keep on talking to me that way and I’ll show you just how it feels to take a pile of sand to your face, sound good?”
Juniper couldn’t help but laugh at how privileged the girl sounded. “You’re worst nightmare, darling,” she spoke without a hint of fear or hesitation. “It’s called a chair, or are you unaware that beach chairs exist and that what normal people use to tan to avoid sand on them because guess what, sand is everywhere on the fucking beach,” she spoke before laughing more, “try me, I’ll get you on the ground before you can touch a single thread of hair on my head, bitch.”

stefan-wolfe:
he didn’t think she’d admit it so easily so he was surprised when she did, to say the least. he decided to remain silent through the entire thing, letting her answer all the questions he asked without him interrupting again and giving her more to think about. he also took it as an opportunity to read her body language and let him decide for himself if she was really telling the truth. “and how exactly do you plan on keeping me a secret from your dad and his people?” stefan asked once she had finished speaking, choosing to take her word for it because he did still care for her. and he really wouldn’t be any better for ignoring everything she was saying, especially because he knew how easy she’d shut him down if he really didn’t mean anything to her. “just… no more secrets, alright? i’ve had enough of those in my life already. if your dad decides you have to get rid of me at least… give me a head start?” he jested, the smallest hint of a smirk leaking onto his lips. “juniper, are you familiar with what a hug is?”
she thought about his question, it was like questioning her loyalty, stefan or her family, and she knew when it came down to it, she couldn’t pick both. “tell him you’re not a threat to the family, that you’re focusing on school and only that, that you trust me with everything and that there’s no reason to see you as a problem,” juniper spoke clearly as she knew she could pull it off to make her father believe every word as she didn’t know if that would stay true or not before adding, “and that you still have no idea who i really am.” she knew that just from stefan knowing it put him in more danger from her father but she couldn’t do that to him, she couldn’t put him in harm’s way. she nodded when he told her no more secrets, she understood how much secrets could make or break loyalty. “i know you’re joking but i would if he told me,” she wanted to be clear that she cared about his life and their friendship. “yes, i know what a hug is, please don’t say you’re going to give me a hug.”
