the thing thats funny about lygus to me is that he just kind of sucks. hes evil and threatening yes but most importantly he's kind of bad at everything besides being evil and technically smart.

Like phainon said, his persuasion skills are terrible and 3.5 gave us a great look into that. the fact he feels he's smarter than everyone else means he constantly has their air of talking down to you and every time it fails to convince anyone to change their course, it simply makes everyone else turn against him more.

Phainon probably wouldn't have held on for so many cycles if he did have such a perfect target for his hatred, like his will is fracturing and he's feeling miserable and the cycle ends and ah--here comes THIS fucker again, here to taunt me. it probably reinvigorated him to be reminded how utterly obnoxious lygus is and how he won't give in to him at any cost.

while cerydra was tempted by the power of destruction, she clearly didnt trust lygus himself for a second, and when he kept taunting hysilens that she'd fail she was like "yknow what you're right. im taking it a step further and falling asleep so your talking doesnt drive me insane" and his roundabout metaphors and endless tirades before getting the point made the trailblazer break their silent protagonist role.

like dude you need to stop playing this "advisor planting seeds of doubt" role you're just bad at it! it keeps backfiring!
