When you see a meme that is all send the thing for a starter where my muse doesn’t remember yours -- and now I’m like amnesia Valentine. What about if Valentine was harmed before the uprising ever happened and lost his memories and so retains the fundamental traits of Valentine but remembers nothing about his struggles growing up and so forgets about the Circle and his cause. Just imagine the potential new dynamics.

Name: Shae -- this isn’t my actual name but I’ve gone by this for over a year and I honestly don’t like people knowing my Christian name. Firstly because I don’t like my name but also because I get anxiety about strangers calling me by my name. Age: 24.  Pronouns: She/Her.  Sexuality: Bisexual. Zodiac sign: Scorpio.  Taken or single: Single.

Four Things About This Blog:

1. Though the general perception of Valentine is that he’s inherently evil, I as a rule do not stand by that concept. The more I have read about Valentine and the more information I have been given regarding his life, the more I find myself understanding him. Valentine wasn’t always the way that we come to know him in CoB, CoA and CoG. In fact, if you read everything we have on Valentine chronologically to his current time frame then you quite literally hear/read/watch him become the ‘monster’ that others dub him to be. I am practical in my portrayal of Valentine, thus I look at all of the information and utilise it to the best way I possibly can to be able to bring him to life. Of course there are those that see him as a villain in the books -- characters specifically that have known him for a short time or never truly knew him. But when you look at the way that those who knew him treat him and how they talk to him, you come to understand that once upon a time he had been worthy of loyalty and friendship. So really, when the Circle was first formed, how corrupt was Valentine truly? If you look at a character in only one light then you’re honestly only seeing in 2D, never really grasping all of the information and looking from all sides; thus you will never really know the 3D image before you.

2. I am book based. As if no one knew that by now. I make no secrets of my dislike for the way they wrote Valentine on Shadowhunters. In fact, you only have to look at my book/show differences page to understand only a little of how different the two Valentine’s truly are. I don’t write with many (if any) purely show-based blogs because of this. I do however write with those that choose duel-canon. I enjoy different adaptations of the characters because everyone has their own perception of a character. In a lot of ways I believe I do not get as many interactions as I would like simply because of how people view Valentine. Here’s the thing though -- I wouldn’t mind an au as long as it doesn’t change Valentine fundamentally and I certainly wouldn’t be opposed to plotting. In fact, I prefer plotting when it comes to writing with Valentine.

3. I originally was drawn to Valentine via his similarities to Lucifer (the light bringer). I find that he is yet another example of a villainised person who was too devout for his peers and to his cause. I’m sure that most people know that I started the fandom writing Magnus Bane but that over the time I have had the pleasure of writing Valentine, I have slowly found that he is now my primary muse. Sometimes I find that I have so much muse but that most of his interactions are similar and so it stops me from writing him as much as I might like. I also enjoy exploring him more -- via questions or comments that others have. I have the extreme honour of being able to write with Sae and her Jace over at @khruseos and she is quite frankly a wonder to be able to talk about Valentine with. I couldn’t ask for a better Jace to plot and talk meta with because otherwise I might have given up on Jace’s as a whole, due to most people disbelieving whenever I say that Jace wasn’t abused (though Sebastian was) and that Valentine loved Jace where he couldn’t ever love his actual son. But also, Sae was another reason for me taking Valentine has a muse in the first place and I owe so much to her for helping me find my love in Valentine.

4. I can’t tell you how much I want to explore Valentine with other muses. I am so blessed to have such amazing friends in my Circle member blogs (and my parabalove) but that doesn’t stop me wanting to write with others that are absent from the short list of people that Valentine can truly interact with. E.g: Amatis, Stephen, Jocelyn, Hodge, Michael... Where are these blogs??? Link me if you know of any. One of my truest wishes is to explore Valentine and Jocelyn’s dynamic and history -- words cannot express how much I love the two of them (and Lucian but shhh this isn’t about him right now) and it often saddens me that I don’t have a Jocelyn to explore any kind of scenario with. TLDR: When will Valentine’s one and only love return to him???

Three Mun Facts:

1. I am probably about as English as they come. I’m a very direct person and I’m very no-nonsense (mostly because I’m already getting too old for it). I’m also an INFJ and I am very much that mixed in with a lovely dose of Scorpio. As my friend often asks: Do you fuck with the planets? I do. If I’m your friend then I will quite literally die for you -- my friends are my family and always will be -- and I am so loyal to them it’s unreal. I love talking to people, hearing their stories and meeting new people. Follow that with the fact that I am a serious introvert and things begin to get a little interesting. I’m slightly nutty and I’m fairly certain that nearly every person I have talked to outside of the UK have at one point tried to imitate my accent or take the piss out of (make a joke about) it. I secretly also love to do the question/answer voice recording memes.

2. I swear to whom-the-hell-ever that I am nearly always singing or listening to music of some form. I wake up with a song in my head, listen to music and sing throughout the day, and then I often fall asleep with some song or tune in my head. I am not overstating this in the least -- Sae as my witness. I have been informed that I know the words to every song, which is inaccurate but I do often find that I know the lyrics to songs that I didn’t actually know I knee the lyrics to. I have no true talents in life but by god am I a sponge when it comes to song lyrics. Don’t ask me how because I literally don’t know. (I’m singing to music as I write this).

3. I spend a lot of time reading up on/learning about history and the (English) monarchy. I also spend far too much time watching period dramas in show or movie form and wishing I could experience one day there just to know what it was like. Have you ever watched Austinland? I would love to open up a period specific resort to literally allow people to LARP in that time period. I’ve never actually done LARPing but the whole idea is so interesting to me! In that respect it becomes rather obvious that I love Outlander and the concept behind it. Now is it any wonder that I got sucked into TID and the Bane Chronicles so easily?

EXPERIENCE:

How’d you start: On tumblr? My best friend was in a Celebrity London based RPG and I liked the idea of it and so I joined. From there I made my own RPG and then branched into Indie. I can’t tell you how many muses I’ve had because it has been so many. Platforms you’ve used: MSN, Twitter, Omegle, Kik, Tumblr. Best experience: Aside from the obvious, which is the friends I have made that I now know personally in real life and see often, I was once in the Marvel fandom (back when it wasn’t as mental is it is today) and met an amazing group of people that wrote the Howling Commandos. I ended up being a part of that circle and have gained a life long friend through that -- she also happened to be in the Musketeers fandom which I was also in and that tiny corner of tumblr was a blessing of a place. Worst experience: I personally haven’t had a ‘worst’ experience to speak of. I’ve never received hate to speak of and I tend to keep to myself or with my friends. 

MUSE PREFERENCES:

Original or canon: Canon every time, though I commend those that make OC’s. Favourite face: Well there is no way I can simply pick one, so: Jonathan Rhys Meyers, Chris Pine,  Chris Evans, Jensen Ackles, Johnny Depp, David Boreanaz, James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender... there are more. Least favorite face: It would be kind of rude to state a person’s face that I dislike. I’m not that person. Multi or single: I personally prefer single muse blogs, simply because they are easier to keep to aesthetic and make simply that characters space. That doesn’t mean that I haven’t had a multi (or two... or three) in my time, because I certainly have.

WRITING PREFERENCES:

Plots or memes: Both? Literally always both, though plotting is always preferred with everything, especially where Valentine is concerned. Best time to write: I would usually say in the morning when I have a cup of tea and I haven’t eaten yet. I don’t know why but that is usually when I find it easiest to write. The minute I get up to eat is the moment I end up losing muse -- maybe it has something to do with food fatigue? Do you like your muse(s): I don’t understand the question -- surely you would have to like/enjoy your muse to be able to write them? I love the muses that I choose to write, I’m passionate about them and that is usually why I choose to spend my free time with them. How long (months/years?): Have I been on tumblr? I believe I was seventeen when I first started on tumblr so it is coming up to eight years, I think. I started writing on tumblr around my birthday so it will be another year this coming October. Fluff, angst or smut: Not smut. Any other of the above in large quantity. I’m a sucker for fluff and angst.
