Asra

He has made absolutely no effort to clean up his house, but Faust got a new sweater for the occasion

The TV plays old music videos in the background, and all the overhead lights are off, so his apartment is lit exclusively by a collection of lava lamps numbering in the dozens

In addition to showing each other increasingly obscure Vine compilations et cetera on YouTube, your activities include makeovers, hair-braiding, and hiking to Walmart at 2am for canned cinnamon rolls and halal corn dogs

He has a futon couch that flattens out into a bed, and you both curl up on it with all the pillows he owns

You stay up talking and giggling until almost sunrise, and wake up feeling horrendously groggy around 1pm

He takes you to a diner for all-day-breakfast and Muriel meets you there because he likes their pie

Julian

He’s actually asleep when you get there, still in his work clothes, all the lights in his apartment on, charger in one hand, and dead phone in the other

(As it turns out, Malak buzzed you in)

He apologizes profusely when you wake him up and asks if you’d rather put on coffee at home or take a quick jaunt to Starbucks

You discover he’s the only person in the world who still owns a DVD player, and an extensive collection of DVDs - everything from Disney classics to black-and-white romances to foreign films you’ve never heard of

He offers up a more mainstream collection, but you’re kind of curious to see what Love And Pigeons is about

You order a pizza with all the trimmings and try to keep it down while he talks over an old Soviet comedy telling your gory ER stories

By the time the credits roll, you’re curled up on his chest, telling him about your wildest dreams while Malak tears the pizza box apart looking for crusts

Nadia

She opens the door in a silk pajama set and translucent robe that are nicer than what most people wear to job interviews

Her idea of junk food is off-brand goat cheese, so you told her you’d bring the snacks, and it’s a delight to watch her try to eat Doritos without getting her fingers cheesy

She loves board games, and especially wants to play Scrabble, but does preface that she has six sisters and is accordingly super competitive, in case you want to opt out

Around midnight, she turns on the rainbow lights in the pool, and you go out for a calming dip that turns into splashing and raft-tipping and trying not to spill each other’s drinks

After a long bath to wash off all the chlorine, you fall asleep in a lavender-scented haze in her canopy bed, on top of the covers with the gauzy purple curtains drawn around you

You wake up around the time she’s getting back from her morning run, and she offers to buy you breakfast

Muriel

When you brought it up, he seemed hesitant - he claims he’s just skeptical about adults having a sleepover, but you also don’t get the sense he entertains much

He’s still cleaning when you get to his place, not that it was ever really messy to begin with

And he has a thing about ordering food, because he doesn’t like delivery people knowing where he lives, so he picked up your favorite drinks, snacks, and cooks something comfort-y like mac & cheese, shepherd’s pie, manti, etc. 

You cuddle up in a pile of blankets - some of them look new - and watch movies or binge old cartoons in his bed

At first, he crochets to keep his hands busy, but when you snuggle closer, he puts it aside so he won’t bother you with the movement

He had the couch made up to sleep on, so you could take the bed, but you end up falling asleep on each other, and in the morning, you get to tell him he snores

Portia

Naturally, you build a blanket fort, one that spans the entirety of her living room, and she takes a bunch of pictures to brag about it on Instagram

Pepi almost takes it down at one point by rubbing on a load-bearing cushion

Portia has baked three kinds of cookies for the occasion, ducking in and out of construction to rotate trays through the oven

You order a huge spread of Chinese and eat it in the fort, watching Muppet Treasure Island on her laptop, and she packs up half the leftovers for you to take home

She wants to take you on a walk by the ocean at sunrise, but falls asleep in your arms about a half-hour too early

“Oh, well…guess we’ll have to try again next time!”

Lucio

Even if he hadn’t spend the entire planning process asking you what you wanted to do, eat, see, etc., it would be painfully obvious this is his first sleepover ever

You’ve been over to his house before - you’ve even stayed the night before - but you put the label on it, and now he’s nervous, like he’s not sure if he’s doing it right

Even though all he’s doing is ordering food and curling up on the couch with you, the dogs, and a crappy reality-show marathon, like he’s done a hundred times before, he still keeps stealing glances to make sure you’re having fun

You take it upon yourself to introduce him to a few sleepover pastimes - Truth or Dare isn’t much with only two people, but he still has fun, and when your dance party breaks a lamp, he assures you he always hated it

Convincing him to leave the house in pajamas and no makeup for a late-night Walmart run is a truly Herculean feat of persuasion, but he does it 

He falls asleep on the couch, with his head in your lap, and complains about his back hurting in the morning

we all know that asra mainly sleeps in naps, but julian is a big fan of them as well.

specifically, catnaps are his bread and butter. as a doctor with his own clinic, he often has to work super long hours, especially during busy seasons like when the flu comes around and such

as a result, he can fall asleep anywhere

places you’ve caught him include: his desk (duh), under the counter at the shop while waiting for you to come back, on the examination table, on the bar at the raven before a date, even one time leaning against the wall in the marketplace (JULIAN WTF)

swears by the coffee nap (where you drink a cup of coffee before a nap and wake up with the caffeine already hitting you)

often sleeptalks, especially when he doesn’t fall all the way asleep, and will wake up in the middle of a tirade if he really gets himself going

he rarely, if ever, is drowsy when he wakes up. he practically rolls out of bed and right back into whatever he was doing before

on days off, he’d rather gogogogogo until he drops, because he doesn’t want to waste a second with you

but once you show him the wonder that is a long afternoon nap, he, hm, thinks he can be converted

i mean, cuddling in the bed, surrounded by blankets, with rain softly falling outside, and then waking up energized and refreshed and glowing with plenty of time to go out and get wild at night? it’s lovely

any time you’re in bed with julian, you’re getting held, no question about it. he pulls you close in his sleep. it’s so incredibly cute that half the time you sleep when he does, even if you’re not tired, just because you’ll never get over feeling him tuck you under his chin or burrow into your side
