Palat played only 4 shifts in the second period, but it was also a pretty special-teams dominant 2nd for the two teams.

Palat only plays on the second PP unit, so that may have taken away from his minutes.

We’ll see how things play out here as the 3rd starts.

Killorn and Hischier head to the box for coincidental penalties, but Hischier gets an extra for hooking AND holding. Ducks to the power play.

#NJDevils  already have Nico Hischier in the box for 4 minutes worth of minors (hooking, hold) and as Kurtis MacDermid, serving the first Hischier minor, comes out of the box, Jesper Bratt gets called for a penalty.

Big, big moments here.

#NJDevils  handle the moment with some big saves from Jacob Markstrom and kill off the Ducks power plays.

#NJDevils  catch a huge break as Fabbri goes in all alone on Markstrom and his shot hits the crossbar.

Fabbri forced Jack into a turnover on that play and New Jersey were awfully lucky this game stayed 1-0 the way Dostal is playing.

#NJDevils  penalty killers - including their top PKer, Jacob Markstrom - were awfully busy in the second period.

NJ was called for eight minutes of penalties (ANA had two coinciding mins).

The PKers get the job done to close out the second period.
