On Eagle’s Wings / Lincoln Watching ⠀ ⠀ Took this photo a few years ago of a couple of guys skating a Lincoln statue in Prospect Park, Brooklyn. ⠀ ⠀ Joe Biden, quoted the hymn “On Eagle’s Wings” during his acceptance speech on Saturday. ⠀ ⠀ I’ve always loved this photo, but for some reason I never shared it because in my gut it just never left like the right time. But it’s the right time. ⠀ ⠀ I’m hopeful for a country that has never been perfect or even lived up to its own ideals. It’s special. ⠀ ⠀ Btw, the beat-up shoe featured here is the one I wore for the 2016 Chicago Marathon. It’s meaningful not because I ran a great race, but for the people I ran it with and the city of Chicago itself. ⠀ ⠀ I’m going to be shooting a bunch with this new camera. It’s a special experience because it forces you to slow down and take your time. That’s partially why I got it.
