Support A Trans Media Critter!
I recently lost a big chunk of Patreon money, for understandable reasons, as most of my supporters are working class like me. So I’d like to humbly ask if you follow me or see this post, for you to check out my work and my Patreon and if you enjoy it, consider a $1 pledge. Even if only temporarily, it’d be a big help.
I am a puertorican, lesbian trans woman, autistic person and leftist author.
My work includes:
The Solstice War: I joke that it’s an LGBT historical romance, but the Solstice War is a serialized fantasy web novel about identity and ideology in a time of devastating imperial war, with a diverse cast, WW2 tactics and equipment, and yes, LGBT romance. There is violence, tragedy, and sexual content to various degrees, but all distressing content is properly tagged for each page. All of the story is free to read online. Patreon supporters get ebook versions of the stories.
Transmediacrity: A podcast and youtube channel project, gearing up for doing streams also. Right now the podcast is the main thing we do. Together with my friend @plumerium we do both a games and culture podcast, and the Anime Club, where we go through an entire season of an anime scene by scene with a critical eye on dialog, characters, plot, cool cinematography, and we do jokes.
Both the Solstice War and Transmediacrity are my attempts to carve a space in my hobbies that is free of the bigotry and rhetorical violence often delivered against people like me in the gaming and fiction communities, people who are women of color, neurodivergent, gay and trans, and so on. I hope you will read and listen and maybe support my projects. I want people to see them!
Again, you can find the Patreon link here: https://www.patreon.com/wyattsalazar. I charge the Patreon per post, usually with each Solstice War chapter, because I don’t want to take anyone’s money if I didn’t do anything new in that month.
Please reblog if your followers may be interested. Testimonials welcome.

Hey everyone. I’m gonna be for real in this post. A lot happened to me in my absence, including becoming a photographer by trade. I had my nerves frayed raw from my various living situations over the past 3 years, sought therapy and psychiatric treatment, and been diagnosed with major depressive disorder + unspecified anxiety. I went without treatment my whole adult life from not having insurance, now I’m finally on a stable, free Medi-Cal plan. I’m finally feeling like I’m getting back to a better place, one where I feel okay reaching out again. i just want to make the world a better place.
This is Robeson Bowmani. He is probably the coolest person I’ve ever seen. I took this today at Fanime in San Jose. It’s among my favorite pictures I’ve ever taken. I’ve only been shooting for a season so far, but- weird as this may sound- I feel well-equipped for it coming from a background of musicianship and sound. When you have a good model, the magic just flows from your fingertips.
I mostly like capturing environments, urban, nature, indoor, outdoor. They generally don’t move as much as people, so I find them easier to work with. I had one phenomenal shoot before with a model that I lost most of from a shabby memory card, and I feel bad about this because while the model got paid, she didn’t get to use the shots I got for her portfolio. This has made me sort of hesitant to hire models until I can afford reliable gear, and that’s where you come in.
I started a photography / videography studio with my brother to make ends meet. He’s got the bulk of photography experience between us with over a decade, he can shoot, direct, and cut, I can do that with sound. We make a pretty good team! You can book us if you or anyone you know of in the greater san francisco bay area needs our skills and equipment. Or, if you can’t help that way...
I started a patreon that I will be providing content for from our studio and my own recreational shooting once I’ve built up a substantial body of work. It is very much a work in progress, and I’m still trying to figure out what I do with it. I plan to refine and cultivate that space very soon.
I’ll be posting samples of my work on here as often as I can manage. I feel like I’m vastly overselling how much drive I have to do this stuff, even though I enjoy doing it a lot, so please understand if I update infrequently or don’t accompany my pictures with anything. I plan to share life updates here and sometimes do on twitter.
Anyway, I gotta go to bed. huge weekend behind me finally. now i can rest. zzz
