LIES OF P QUESTIONS AND THEORIES

I just finished Overture last weekend and DLC story made me ask even more questions about main plot, humanity mechanics and endings meaning.

Firstly, can anyone explain, why all the net decided that in the 'real boy' ending we have a real Carlo in the puppet body and in 'rise of p' we have an independent P personality without Carlo (I saw a theory, that in rise of p Carlo's soul is rest in peace and gone)? Or is I don't understand something?

Like as I understand: we have proof (Romeo and Sophia, in DLC Camilla, Geppeto's wife) that after physical death, person's soul becoming an Ergo essence and can be put in the puppet and then awake and keep their memories and personality. So, Gepetto, after his son's death, tried to make first puppet with Carlo's ergo (The Nameless Puppet), but this attempt had failed. Than he made P (main character of the game) so he could collect Ergo around the city and with all that Ergo Gepetto wanted to bring Carlo back to life.

Question 1: If Geppeto knew, that dead person soul could awoke in the puppet (puppet's ego, as one of the notes in game said)(also, he was experimenting on Romeo, so he MUST knew, that this is possible)(or, Romeo was hiding from Geppeto the fact that he is not just mindless puppet idk), ether way, if Geppeto knew about all ego(soul) awakening, than why would he try to take P's heart (p-organ, Carlo's ergo)? I mean, if we didn't reach the max lvl of humanity I can understand, but if we did? Only at death adge Geppeto admited, that P isn't just puppet, but had a soul.

And, question 2, growing from previous: what is humanity for? There is no exact explanation what are we reaching: we giving P his own soul or waking Carlo's soul in P? Because according to game lore, puppets can't have soul of their own, all puppets have Ergo power cell, and this Ergo contains 'life essence' of someone already lived. So, for me was obvious that with max humanity we are waking Carlo's soul and it's Carlo fighting Nameless Puppet in the end.

And my main exhibit is Carlo's portrait in the end game. It is well known that it's a reference to the 'Portrait of Dorian Gray's and I actually think people understand it wrong.

Basic plot of the book: Dorian Gray was a party guy, who wanted nothing more but to have fun with out any conciqunces. Artist Basil made a portrait of handsome man and Dorian wishing 'to stay forever young and chill and for the portrait to get old and ugly instead'. After some events, people started to notice that Dorian becoming cruel but still beautiful no matter the time, but Dorian himself witness how portrait growing old. This is a metaphor, and portrait literally have Dorian's soul in it, so Dorian himself became cruel and so called soulless. After his mental breakdown, Dorian attacked the portrait himself and died. When people found him, they've been talking about old and ugly man lieying dead and empty frame, where used to be face of Dorian Gray. So, as I said, it is a huge metaphor, that your soul makes you who you are with your flaws and goods, but if you denie it (literally becoming a bad person) it would had conceqences. Portrait reflected everything ugly that Dorian been doing through the plot and becoming uglier. And this is why Dorian died in the end: he literally killed his own soul and reunited with it and became a cruel ugly man, he was inside.

So, in Lies of P endings we have an empty frame in rise of p and scarry and bloodied in real boy endings. For me, it was the biggest proof that in rise of p we awoke Carlo's soul and in real boy Carlo's soul suffering trapped forever in another puppet, I mean Geppeto doesn't want to bring real Carlo to life, makes a son he want, not he had.

Samurai Troopers Sequel Announced

It's official, friends. Samurai Troopers is getting a sequel, Yoroi Shin Den Samurai Troopers. Set 38 years after the "final" battle of the original (not sure if this means the ova though), new characters take up the mantle of samurai troopers.

(can someone explain to me how he's supposed to draw his swords when they're positioned like that? and how does the upside down one not fall out?)

The announcement came at a special event where select episodes from the original series were shown. At the end of the airings, armor designer, Hideo Okamoto, and the voice actor of Ryo Sanada, Takeshi Kusao, came out to announce the sequel, where they also introduced Hiiro Ishibashi, the voice actor of the new main character, Gai.

There's not much info provided, but there are a of theories flying around based off of the short trailer and descriptions of Gai.

The show is scheduled to premiere January 2026.

I'm not sure yet how I feel about the news. On the one hand, yay, I've been proven wrong and there's a new Samurai Troopers anime coming. But on the other hand, I am somewhat disappointed that the original characters aren't in the spotlight. I'm going to try to keep an open mind, especially since Okamoto-san is involved in the project and has a quite a few strong staff members.

And, not going to lie, I am a little anxious about how new fans might act, not just with the new show, but when they'll inevitably look for the original, which, let's be honest, doesn't age well at all.

Still, it is nice to see that the original show had enough support from both the fans and the original staff to keep going strong for 37 years and beyond. I'll keep my fingers crossed that this sequel will be a hit.

It’s a simple sketch but it scratched that creative itch 😖 his over blot form is a combo of ‘Performapal celestial Magician’, Zarc’s human form, with a pinch of dragon Zarc and Yuya 💦

(And yes, I gave him some abs, you can’t tell me this kid doesn’t have some defined muscles with all the running jumping and acrobatics feats he does 💦)

It seems like the other Yu Boys are starting to understand Yuri and what he's thinking. All he seems to want is to have fun his own way, which is to duel powerful opponents that give him a challenge on equal footing (to which he holds the other Yu Boys, especially Yuya, high on being on equal footing with him, since they used to be one and the same.)

CANNOT stop thinking about how for the most part this whole duel links event Yuri has been very Often and Adamantly referring to the Reunification of the Yuboys as a Present Tense Event, something that's still actively happening (which he isnt.. technically wrong about, since we know from dialogue from back in Yuto's event that the actual 'real life not VR' yuboys are still in yuya's soul)

(that last one especially gets me--there's been a whole underlining narrative this event about the yuboys trying to figure out if Yuri really didn't change after everything and Yuri stubbornly maintaining that it doesn't matter anyway) (almost (to me) like in his eyes at the end of the day he's still just a piece of Zarc anyway. a puzzle piece doesn't change shape after it's slotted into place, after all.) (but a conversation on Yuri's complete mental lack of personhood is for another time)

EXCEPT!! There are a few times he's slipped up, referenced the Yuboy Fusion/"being one" as a past event; he does it once in his conversation with Yugo but more importantly he does it when he admits to the other three that his worldview Has shifted, he's actually learned to have fun even while losing. (which is a HUGE deal for this character but anyway)

"we used to be one and the same......"

him saying that now, in his lv 2000 raid cutscene, it definitely seems like this is deliberate character progression, so now this damn game got me wondering if maybe, just maybe, this event is gonna end with some depiction of Yuri having to openly accept and embrace that he ISNT just a Zarc shard, he isn't just a Duel Academy superweapon, but an individual person, just as the other yuboys are their own people beyond being cosmically Zarc-linked.

and, well, if that happens, i WILL be hooting and hollering and exploding and maybe crying a little. who knows!!!!

It’s really nice to see Nunnally get more spotlight in the manga!

I feel bad for Suzaku here. This is a fight he shouldn’t be able to loose but, not only is he using a shell of a KMF,

Shalio’s line also implies that his sister has used her Geass at least once. meaning... first time round Suzaku won the fight and Shalio lost.

Suzaku did what he does best. Beat the odds stacked against him and do the impossible.

But Shamna cheated. ☹️

Nice to see Nunnally take charge a little. Suzaku is definitely too hard on himself about what happens here, though, given that he is explicitly piloting a ceremonial KMF with no weapons or defenses to speak of, lol.)
