Glitcher
As the title* already suggests, this small publication shows images of different glaciers of the alps and glitched versions of them, that resemble them aesthetically. The glitches were created by converting the source images to the BPG [Better Portable Graphics] file format and changing different values with a Hex-editor. The glitched BPG image files lend themselves perfectly to comparing them to images of glaciers or snowy mountains, as the visual result, especially when glitching black and white images, show aesthetic features that have strong similarities to the mentioned motives. By putting the analog original and the digital glitched version on the same spread in the “Glitcher”-publication, a visual comparison is possible and the level of similarity or resemblance can be evaluated by the onlooker him- or herself. *(a wordplay with “glitch” and “glacier” or “Gletscher” in german)
