DigiLab
Welcome to the DigiLab.
Located in the heart of Barking, stocked with crazy tech and run by super cool Avengers. Find us inside the Barking Learning Centre, a community hub which includes a cool library, Citizen’s Advice Bureu, an adult college, the University of East London, and even a luxury Bathhaus Spa with a steaming Sauna room.
The DigiLab is designed to digitally challenge individuals and inspire them to increase their digital knowledge by learning how to code and program, creating apps, building robotics, trying the Virtual Reality, 3D scanning and printing.
A YouTube studio is the newest edition to the new DigiLab office, which can be hired by individuals and businesses to create their very own videos. A YouTube Club is currently being run by YouTuber Veena V, who is delivering free sessions for children every Saturday in partnership with the library service. Veena is also offering workshops for businesses looking to expand their social media platform.
The first year at DigiLab has been eventful with lots of changes and positive challenges, it has grown to become the digital heart of Barking and Dagenham. Last year, we held the popular Raspberry Pi Jam along with the launch of the new office which drew in hundreds of new visitors from all over London. We are currently working on our 2017 events programme with more tech, and challenges. Watch out for the next DigiLab event, it will be bigger and better!
