while i’m here take my belated takes on the 20th aniv designs:

taichi: WHY IS HE STILL PALE WTF 😬😬😬the goggles are at least infinitely better than whatever the hell they were supposed to be in the preview from months back. the jacket is cool, the blue star in the middle of a white shirt is... extremely lame. i like that they kept the star motif, but they could’ve done something better with it. also the tucked in shirt is uhhhh. not a taichi look. can do with pants instead of shorts too...

yamato: hmmm the jacket on his waist looks cool i guess? idk how i feel about his hairstyle i wish it looked more like his 02 hairstyle than his one in adventure

sora: ok she’s into ikebana now sure

koushiro: i feel extremely uncomfortable because it looks like his 11 year old head on a 21 year old body. for fuck’s sake i think his 02 design made him look older than this

mimi: her hairstyle is really nice!!! ... and that’s where the positives end. what the fuck her fashion sense is wayyyy outdated and that’s just nOT mimi.

takeru: every time i look at him i keep thinking of tomoki. dye his hair brown and this would be a perfectly suitable design for tomoki in his 20s

tbh when i first watched adventure, i didn’t feel that much of a particular attachment to taichi’s voice but

i feel like when i rewatched it i realized how damn wrong i was

taichi’s voice is so nuanced like you can tell it’s a young child giving it his all and pushing far beyond his comfort zone despite his fears because he knows that someone has to take the reigns and be the leader the team needs

and even when he’s being rash, he has this tone like there’s this sort of taichi-exclusive logic behind it that you just have to trust works
