DILAN ASLAN. I’m not looking for somebody who will whisper sweet nothings into my ear to feed the ravenous ego of my heart. But someone who can look me straight in the eye and say, I love you, whether you fail or fall, just as you are.

hakanxaydin:
Dilan toiled painfully along with the stiff boundaries that curled around him. With every surprisingly sprightly step, Hakan felt every stone of logic being unearthed; slowly but surely, his grasp on his finely crafted world had been pried from his fingers. The innocent of her youth washed away with the blossoming wisdom that bloomed within her. Hakan desperately tried to hold onto his long toiling defense against the way she had made him feel.
Fulfilled.  Seen.  Happy.
Dilan morphed before his eyes from the vividly rebellious kid who’s eyes were far too blind to the world’s cruelty to a fierce woman demanding change with a fist filled with flowers; instead of the cold barrel of a gun. “Money doesn’t imbue discipline. It’s solely a tool to efficiency for all. I don’t have the time to tidy the place on my own; not that I should. It’s a curtesy to my employees to work in a clean environment.” And yes another way I can control everything in my kingdom. “You make a living selling fantasy homes. I think it’s about time I get a peek inside yours. I mean you did sell me my new dwelling.” Hakan’s brows shot up with intrigue at her proposition. “It’d be my pleasure to be your lab rat. Annen yemek pişirmenin işe ihtiyacı olduğunu söylüyor.” His laughter rattled low in his chest as he watched for her expression.
“This is about the bet. I already told you that I have no desire to control you; nor that I have the power to do so. What I can control is the outcome of this wager.” His expression dimmed at her mention of his image. Hakan carefully crafted what the world saw from who he did business with down to the material of his pocket square; as not to clash with his suit. Yet, in this moment, he didn’t care what they thought so long as the image was spilling from her lips. He peered down at his food before throwing a distance glance at the young man swooning over her. Leaning forward, he wrapped his hands around the legs of her chair and dragged her closer to him. Dangerously close. In that moment, the two shared the same breath.
Tumblr media
“Do you take issue with my..what did you call it–oh egotistical image?” Hakan tsked her soft fury with a stiff shake of his head. “I may not know him personally but I know people like him. I know that you deserve better–that’s all.” Hakan disregarded the painful tightening of his jaw. He didn’t want to believe that he could feel such an ugly feeling like jealous. Why in the world would he? The man had everything he ever wanted…except for her.
“I don’t think he would appreciate you playing with his heart to get back at me. Shouldn’t you be excited to be with him than to aggravate me?” Hakan endured the rolling moans of appreciation over the food. He mulled over the numerous ways he’d happily quiet. He offered before allowing her to him out of the shop. Hakan pulled out a crisp hundred dollar bill and stuffed it into Sergio’s sad little tip jar as they returned to the busy sidewalk. The warm feeling of her body against his washed away the gnawing bite of jealousy that coiled up within him.
“Great critical thinking.” He hummed. Hakan knew the moment he slipped into the comfort of his own car, his obligations would come flooding back. “This is your day. You can drive if you’d like; unless you want me to drive.”
-
Hakan had been more difficult to read throughout the years. The boy she had spent her childhood with had become a man she fawned over and with that, came more emotions that were harder to decipher. Often blinded by her own feelings, she could never quite pin down his own thoughts. For the briefest of times, she believed that had finally found the secret code. A shared night where they’d spoken through touches, moans, whispered demands into one another’s ear. One she replayed time and time again.
And then he had left, without trace, without word.
His reappearance in her life was drastic to say the least, having spent a few hours in jail. And more than ever, she felt confused by him. The subtle gestures made her doubt but the reluctance to push further made herself halt and doubt. Was it her? The proximity it would give between him and her family? More specifically, the brother — his best friend — who had betrayed him. His words made her smirk, nodding her head. “Always the generous boss. Of course I’m meant to believe that it has nothing to do with your own need for cleanliness.” There was no doubt that he wouldn’t bend over backwards for those he cared about, including the ones who worked beneath him, but she was skeptical that they were the main responsibility for his tick. “All you have to do is ask. I can show you around.” It wasn’t as vast or luxurious as the one she’d found him. A small apartment that suited her needs. The bed was large and the bath was deep.
It had been proven ample time that there was no controlling her. Not that she was necessarily proud of it as the last time had ended with her in jail. Albeit for something she still felt that wasn’t her fault. Before her lips can even part to retort, she watches as the male reaches down to grasp the legs of her chair and pull them forward. The proximity sent a shock through her form and made her breath itch in her throat. A mere lean forward and she could crash her lips against his. Fingers tentatively moved forward, shifting to his leg as her own was placed between his. The words he spoke next barely registered when they left his lips. All she could think about was him and how little effort it would take to bring this all to an end.
Tumblr media
A beat later and she heard the words, swallowed thickly in an attempt to gather more time to regain her composure. “Absolutely not. You wouldn’t be yourself if you weren’t like that.” She hummed with a sly grin. If anything, Hakan was far from the man who was full of himself. However, any confidence he did have was well earned. As for Sergio, she eyed Hakan as he spoke before turning her attention to the male in question. “I don’t think I have time to wait for the right guy to come. They all end up deceiving you in some kind of way.” This time, her eyes were on Hakan because he had been the latest. Her crush had gone on for too long and just when she’d been allowed to reach for him, he had left her.
Her eyes rolled and a scoff escaped then. “Even if I was trying to get back at you, it wouldn’t mean that I’m playing with his heart. What if I genuinely like him.” Her head shook, slowly rising from her table to signal she was ready to leave. A smile was sent to Sergio, though she stopped at the door when Hakan moved to the tip jar to deposit money. She hadn’t seen the amount but it was a nice gesture. It didn’t dawn on her that perhaps he had done so due to pity rather than genuine generosity.
Walking down the street, the pointed towards her car to indicate that she had made a decision. “I’ll drive.” Once the door was unlocked, she moved to the driver side and waited for him to open the door before she did the same and slid inside. “You can control the music but no opera, please.” When she pulled off, the brunette drove down in the direction of her home. While she had plans to show him a beautiful location with trees and a waterfront view, she felt that perhaps it could wait until later on after dinner. He had wanted to see her home so it was where she’d bring him. “Have you put thought into our dinner plans? You did say you would pick dinner if I chose lunch.”

hakanxaydin:
Hakan snarled at the thought teasing information that echoed off her lips. Dilan enjoyed seeing him squirm; she was one of the only people who had the pleasure of seeing such a sight. He happily destroyed anyone who attempted such an impossible feat. Little did he know that he was literally no match for the ruby lipped goddess who enveloped every inch his being. It almost was laughable at the ease at which she operated in the dangerous waters with a shark like him. “This is why one is prompted to cleanse their equipment and I pay people a lot of money to ensure the office is clean. I am going to keep this in mind the next time I entertain the thought of coming to yours,” he said with a feigned judgement. Mental note: double check logs for the night maintenance crew.
“I would never stoop so low as to shout my victory to the streets. It would be all the sweeter for you to do it. It’s the victor’s choice on who carries that news. If and when I am right, I am going to make you profess it to the universe. A little march of defeat would definitely liven up the neighborhood.” Hakan would happily eat crow and deny displeasure with the cuisine just to make her happy. Where did all of his toxic pride gone? Since the night they spent together after the showing, Hakan thought deeply on his attitude towards one of the few people who’s aim wasn’t to maim him but to protect him.
Dilan bore the shield not the dagger.
“Oh don’t worry, he will defend whomever I want. You, me, and the broom. It’s the perk of being the boss,” he smirked. If they were truly set to get into any sort of Dilan inspired trouble, he was certain that he could write it away with a poised end of his pen on a blank check. “Why exactly am I breaking a leg?” Hakan couldn’t help but smirk at the thought of whatever wickedly wild things that she was thinking of. A small part of him wanted to indulge in the insanity before the real world snatched him back into the fold. His duties were etched in stone and the shackles of his obligations left him tethered to the same logic that sucked the life out of him. This afternoon had been the only act of rebellion that kicked up in him; all at her hands.
The ghosting feeling of her lips dancing just above the stiff fold of his collar sent a shiver down his spine. Hakan held still, for as long as possible, as the mischievous depth of her words to permeate through his thoughts. “Who says I’m jealous?” He questioned with a defiant kink in his brow. “You’re welcome,” he muttered. Hakan gently released one of the buttons from his jacket before tucking himself into the flimsy seat. You have no interest in me. The thought was laughable but maybe it was better this way. Hakan couldn’t love her the way she needed to be loved. His heart was cold and unyielding. She deserved someone who could love her without barriers. “You deserve someone..” he paused for a beat. “Better than whatever Sergio could offer.”
Tumblr media
Hakan almost choked on the lukewarm tea that they had ordered upon arriving. “That’s nice,” he hummed. His blood boiled at the thought of that little prick having the audacity to ask her anywhere; let alone the chilling image of his hands exploring a single inch of her body. Hakan looked down at the food trying to ignore the passing wave of fury. “I’ve lost my appetite but please continue.”
-
Dilan lived for these moments. The instances where she saw wavered thoughts and actions from the confident male. The skill to wiggle herself beneath his skin was due to the years of knowing and regarding the male. There had been a time where Dilan had sucked every bit of information she could about him. Many would have seen it as an obsession but she liked to think she was in love with him. At least, as in love as a fifteen year old could be. He was the friend of her older brother, and a hot one at that. “Well, that is the luxury of having money. Most people need to clean themselves and it can be hard to upkeep.” She reminded him, dark hues flicking upwards to meet him. At the mention of coming to hers, she could only smirk. “Have you entertained that thought a lot, Hakan? Maybe I can cook for you.”
Her head shook as she continued to walk with him. “You believe that you’d be able to make me do anything or is this apart of the bet we haven’t discussed?” She questioned. “I’m surprised that you would allow me to profess a different image to your neighbours. They’d surely be surprised that, victory or not, you’d allow a woman in the street professing how right you are.” She paused to look him over. “Then again, it would feed into the whole egotistical image.”
Her brow perked when he didn’t readily accept his jealousy. At least not to her. She rolled her eyes before regarding him for a second longer. “You do seem a little jealous to me. But perhaps it’s all in my head.” She steps back slightly and turned towards the workers, His words made her rigid for a moment, stooping his shoulders slightly. “You don’t know him.” The woman argued. Sergio wasn’t the man she wanted but she couldn’t tell Hakan that. For a second, she met the male’s gaze and her lips parted to tell him something before it snapped shut once more.
How could she tell him that the person she wanted had been the same who’d grasped her and pulled her tighter to his side. The man who she’d dreamt of as a teenager and continued to swoon after silently.
Tumblr media
Her eyes rolled when he suggested he lost his appetite. She shrugged her shoulder and continued to eat. Every bite came with a dramatic grunt of appreciation. Soon enough, she waved at Sergio on their way out. “You’re ridiculous, you know.” Her gaze settled over him. “I hope you know that he’s a great boy and if nothing else, your disapproval has only made me that much more excited for my date.” Maybe she wanted to push his buttons slightly in the hope that she might catch a crack in his facade.
“You haven’t given me any real reason why I shouldn’t go on a date with him but I’ll be sure to tell you how wrong you were after he takes me out.” A hand reached out to wrap around his arm, bringing herself closer to him. “I’ve got another surprise location. I’d suggest public transportation but I’m guessing you’re going to protest so should we take my car or yours?”

hakanxaydin:
That day in the blistering heat where the two hashed out their former transgressions had changed something in him. Hakan refused to believe that anyone could influence his thoughts and actions. Although, the guilt of his absence after their night together had eroded his boorish logic. Dilan had and would always be the best part of his day; an essential piece of his framework. Hakan feared allowing her in too far because if he wasn’t careful, he’d stop being able to function without her; and everyone left him eventually.
“Change you? As if I had the power to do that,” he sucked his teeth playfully. If there was one thing he knew for certain was that Dilan would never be forced into some version of events that would betray who she was. All of that fire and sickeningly sweet control had only been enhanced by her temperamental judgment; despite his dismay. Hakan just wished she would show some concern about her well being. She flew off the handle without the adequate safety net. Luckily, he’d happily be there to catch her every time. “That’s a very flawed way of thinking. To gain immunity by literally inviting bacteria into your mouth..” his expression soured momentarily before melting into a grin. It was hard not to smile when he was around her. Her hold on his hand only encouraged him to spiral farther into her madness. “If they give us anything less than–I will gloat endlessly and never let you live this down.” Hakan said with a pointed look.
A cheekier grin blossomed on his lips at acceptance of the invitation. His thoughts of the office were long behind him; much like his sense. “Great,” he hummed. Hakan fired off a short, curt texts to his assistant to book them the entire restaurant for the evening. He, selfishly, didn’t want to share her with the rest of the world. “Even if that adventure leads us behind bars? I just want to know if I need to have my attorney on hand for this evening?” Hakan almost enjoyed the suffering he would endure here at this little hole in the wall just to see her happy. He noted the few morsels of food that had just narrowly gotten away from the bristles of a slow scooting broom. The scent dissuaded his grimace momentarily because it invoked a comfort Istanbul invoked within him. He loves Los Angeles but he would love to pick up and return home for longer than a couple weeks.
The friendliness waged between her and Sergio only further forced him into a comfortable offense. His fingers curled along the inside of her arm and held it against his chest. ““Anlıyorum. Bana işkence etmeyi seviyor olmalısın.” The words passed smooth from his lips for only her ears. Reluctantly, he brought his attention back to the love sick Sergio with a grin as his arm curled around her. “Whatever you want, küçük yıldız.”
Tumblr media
Hakan pulled out her chair, frowning at the sticky feeling that had been disposed onto his palm. He pulled out the neatly pressed pocket square and wiped absently at the surface before she sat down. “Için özür dilerim?” Hakan cooly questioned. The fanned jealously flaring at her request; but it wasn’t about to direct that sort of emotion at her. Dilan wasn’t in control of the way others lusted after her. He wasn’t all that surprised because she was quite literally the most perfect woman he had the pleasure to lay his eyes upon. “You would also like me to excuse the way he looks at you? How long have you come to this deli? I’m curious.”
-
Dilan peered towards the male with an hint of amusement playing at her lips. She had long since understood the male’s desire to control and shift things to fit his own desire and functions. The notion that he voiced his inability to change her was both shocking and alluring. Still, the notion pleased her as she knew that certain aspects of herself tested his own limits.
Fingers curled around his, snorting at the mention of bacteria. “There’s a documentary about how much bacteria lives on a single computer mouse. Even a doorknob.” The brunette comments with a shrug of her shoulder. “A piece of food is the least of our worries.” She could understand the horror that came with food but remained confident in her choice of location. She’d much prefer help out the small businesses rather than a pristine restaurant that would cost an arm and a leg. “I will gladly take that bet on. You can shout it to everyone who’s willing to hear about how wrong I’ll be. I’m that confident.” She assured him with a wiggle of her brow. The setting would be another story, but the food was delicious.
Chewing her lower lip as she looked him over, the brunette finally provided an answer in the form of a nod. “Oh, most definitely. I would have two lawyers on stand by unless he’s willing to take two for the price of one.” Power had crept into the pit of her stomach and the notion of having the male to herself was a greater responsibility than she could have imagined. It was an opportunity she could not waste. “We should perhaps advise the local hospitals as well. We wouldn’t want for Mr. Aydin to be stuck in a queue with a broken leg.” Now, she was merely attempting to rile him up, perhaps loosen up the stiffness in his shoulders. Throughout the years, she’d noticed a shift in the male as his business and role became more significant. His laughter diminished, the desire to have fun and be wild had dimmed since when they were all children and she tagged along, hoping that she’d one day catch his eye.
The words found the shell of her ear, forcing the brunette to close her eyes and listen. “Mmm,” she mumbled in turn, flashing the male a mischievous smile. Of course torture had always been a great pass time of hers. “seni kıskanç görmenin eğlenceli bir yanı var” She whispered, lips brushing the side of his neck before she pulled back. He could deny it all he wanted but there was no missing the flush of her body against his.
Tumblr media
“Thank you,” she told him once he pulled her chair, finding her seat. Dark hues flicked between Hakan and Sergio, nodding her head. “Apologize for being rude. You seemed on edge because he likes me.” Dilan wasn’t going to go around the subject. “You have no interest in me but somehow react when others do.” It wasn’t the first time, but she’d noticed it tenfold as of late. “I come here frequently and the only reason he looks at me that way is because he asked to take me out on a date. I’ve accepted.” She picked at her food at took a bite, pointing her fork at his food. “Try it, please.”

hakanxaydin:
Unchecked desire was a dangerous thing; especially for the touched starved and despite.
Hakan hung off the oxygen that seemed to radiated off her like a teasing trove to a breathless traveler like him. He paced through life like a ghost. No moment held his attention for long enough for him to plant roots; which delighted him. He knew no one could destroy what he created if he continued to be elusive. Not even the most skillful marksman could keep a pulse on the man on fire if he never stood in one place long enough. Dilan invoked lethargy in his heels and had him craving stillness. “I don’t doubt that,” he hummed to disguise the jealousy that crawled at the back of his throat. Was it selfish of him to be the only one who receives so much of her tenderness? Even though he didn’t deserve it. He was the one who slammed the doors on whatever was blossoming between them out of fear; or self sabotage. His skin tingled where her lips once grazed. Hakan hated the way his guard dropped to allow her to liberties to do whatever she chose to his soul. No one could see how she played on the tight strings that strung around his heart. Hell he couldn’t see it himself until it was too late.
“You never have to thank me,” his words passed softly between them. Hakan happily ignored the agape expression of the faces that disappeared beyond the opaque glass.
Tumblr media
“exaggerated hygienic standards? You mean basic standards that all persons should uphold. our bodies are our temples. We can’t just put anything into them…” the bounds of his unwavering need for control were endless. Hakan kept to tight schedule and adhered to an even tighter health regime. He observed the joy that washed over her features against the golden horizon that illuminated her like some crestfallen angel. Get it together, Aydin. The tiny voice in his head pleaded endlessly only to be met with deaf ears. Hakan couldn’t fight the smirk that curled up on his lips at her proposition. Instead of pouting or stomping her feet, she offered him a countering incentive for submitting to her request. How many health codes could this deli have broken if it is still in business.
“Fine,” he offered with a soft squeeze of her hand. “I’ll entertain this deli of yours and I get to pick where we go for dinner.” The trilling sound birds chirping overhead almost had been lost in the swelling sound of tires passing over asphalt. “Trouble isn’t an accurate word to describe what you are but it’ll do. I can’t say our time together is anything less than excitable.” Hakan hadn’t taken the time to notice the small nuance of the nestling neighborhood by the office. He had gotten used to the blinding glint of the high rise and soft squeaking of the slate of glass doors opening up to him. Venturing further down, he began to see the various shapes and sizes of the lives that inhabited it. Children’s laughter echoed off the concrete. Hakan watched the comfort washing over her shoulders as they grew closer into the unknown.
Her question skated over his mind for a moment before his answer slipped from his lips with such ease. “With more than you know,” his gait slowing to match hers as they entered. The scent of home cooked food wafted through the air. Memories of his anne flashed in the back of his mind; a momentary distraction to the encroaching young man that made a beeline towards them. The loving pet name rolled off Sergio’s lips and scorched Hakan’s fraying patience. “How creative,” his words slithering through his teeth. The man’s posturing desire overflowed with every exchange. Hakan stepped in closer, his body angling to shield her slightly from the hungry suitor.
“We’d like to see a menu, you do offer menus that aren’t written in chalk correct?”
-
Dilan had been left airborne countless of times in Hakan’s presence. He acted in ways that made her feel as if sentiments were shared, but as she inched closer, tested the waters, he pulled back. It left her with no sense of destination, unable to know whether she was flying or falling. He was confusing. More than that, it was cruel. Still, she was a moth lured by the flame that was the male. A powerful, yet cold man who showed warmth for her alone. It was impossible to miss the gawking from his employees as he strutted out the door. It implicated something but she ignored it. She’d allowed herself to think too much. Maybe even hoped for something more only to be left for months on end without a response. They were friends and they’d return to what they were before she’d fallen into bed with the likes of Hakan Aydin. “You told me that but I beg to differ.” He had been more generous than other people. In an attempt to ensure she wasn’t around for his money, she made sure that he knew her gratitude.
“It’s in my nature to show gratitude. You wouldn’t want to change me, now would you?” She questioned with a raise of her brow. Perhaps her impulsivity was a trait he’d much rather switch out before her tendency to thank him and others.
Dark hues rolled as she listened to his spiel. The man washed every single piece of fruit before it came into contact with his lips. That in itself was sick. “It’ll help build a strong immune system.” She argued with him, raising her brow. “What do you think happens when you touch every door handle and then brush your fingers against your lips. It’s worse.” She promised, unable to hold the smirk pressed to her lips. Rather than allow him to think further into her comment, she grasped his hand and tightened her hold. “Come on, I have hand sanitizer and I promise to ensure they give you the upmost service. You’ll be fine. I promise.” If he wasn’t, she was sure he’d never allow her to pick a location to eat again.
Dinner. Her feet halted for a moment so she could look at him before she continued beside him. He’d barely wanted to leave for lunch and now he had extended their original plans longer. A few hours in fact. Not that she would complain. “That’s a deal.” A fancy restaurant, she had no doubt. While she wasn’t dressed for such a venue, she could easily take the deal if it meant she’d get him inside of a small deli. “Excitable,” she echoed on a nod, her thumb dragging along the back of his hand. “I’ll take that. There’s always a surprise and promise of an adventure.” That much she could say. Prior to today, she’d gotten herself thrown into jail due to an argument between the two. Maybe an illegal and impulsive act or two. Not many would describe such an event as excitable, much less an adventure — but Dilan always had a knack to turn the darkest of events into something positive. Even if it made sense only to herself. As their approach, Dilan held on to his hand tighter in fear that he would stear them back outside once he saw the Deli.
It wasn’t the cleanest by far, but nothing that could harm them. Some dried food here and there that would be swept away by the end of the night. Smiling at Sergio, she wiggled her fingers to the male. “Shht.” The brunette hissed towards Hakan, pushing her arm into his chest as to silence him. Sergio was nice. Hakan was.... being himself. Maybe even jealous but she didn’t immediately acknowledge it. However, it became evident as he moved closer to her person and shifted his person to almost stand before her. A brow rose, amusement clear on her feature as she placed a hand upon his chest. “Hakan, darling, there isn’t a menu here.” She spoke up before Sergio could do so. The worn and dusty signs at the top, written in old chalk.
“The menu is right up there. I’d recommend the combo two and four. Sandwiches. They’re quite good.” Her attention turned to Sergio, stepping forward then. “We’ll both get a number four combo please.” It would be easier to decide. Take control.
Tumblr media
Her hand reached for his once more, pulling him back towards their seat. “You should apologize to Sergio before we leave.”

sinemxnamal:
Sinem slipped out of her heels with a defeated sigh. The day had rolled on painfully slow and the last thing she wanted to do was end it with another fight. Instead, she made her way to Dilan’s apartment. If there was anyone who could fix the jagged pieces of her day it would be her best friend. Dilan had a way to make all of Sinem’s problems seem so small. Helping herself to the frosty pinot, she grabbed two glasses and drifted back into the living room. “I think we need a vacation. Just you and me,” she cooed. “Somewhere with sand and no men. What do you say?”
@dilanaslan
Tumblr media
Dilan smiled when Sinem walked through her door. “Hello gorgeous,” she said softly. The blonde was a refreshing sight. With all the confusion and shifts in her life, her best friend always made her feel like her feet were steady on the ground. “Somewhere warm and far away,” the brunette agreed with a nod, pushing items from the couch in order to have her friend settle beside her. “No men, now that’s somewhere I want to be.” While her own issues with a certain man were complicated, she had nothing on Sinem’s problem with two individuals. “Do you want to talk about it?”

hakanxaydin:
Hakan melted into the pressure of her body melding into his own. A racing current pulsed through his veins like he had been jolted by lightening. The formal setting fell hopelessly away from him momentarily as he got swept up in her. All of his reserved upset over her recklessness seemed to waste away in the bright wake of her presence. How does she do it? He frowned subtlety at the chill that settled in wake of her departure. His gaze lingered over hers before drawing back to the perfectly bound basket. Dilan’s excitement poured over the time she had taken to execute such a sentiment gesture. Hakan, uncharacteristically, indulged her desire to show it off. If it had been anyone else, a curt thank you would have been left and the gifts bundling within left for his employees to pick apart. Most of the time these kinds of care packages were lame attempts to win his good grace. Little did they know no one ever made it past the iron wrought gates of his resolve; he wondered if he even had good graces to strife towards. “This must have taken some time to bring together on such short notice.” He hummed in delight. “It’s a wonderful touch of intimacy, Dilan.” One I hope you do not share with any other person. The thought set his heart ablaze.
“I hope this is the kind that you like,” he tapped the foiled cork of the bottle of champagne. “I’ll have it chilled for later.” Hakan’s smug flicker of confidence expanded with every moment that passed between them. He plucked the photo from the basket. The sun washed over her delicate features and illuminated the depth of her dimple. Her beauty was effortless. Be it dressed up in the finest of clothing to the ruffed mess of curls that stuck out in every which way in the morning. Hakan felt all of the distance that he had forced between them beginning to fade into black. Placing the photo back into the basket, he took in the slight bit of shock that colored her expression. He was sure that would be the same look on Yusuf’s face when he hears about such a brazen disregard for appropriate discourse when dealing with such large transactions. “You told me to stop treating you like a child. There’s nothing childish about the efficiency of this closing. I’ll just keep a better eye on you and my car,” he smiled. “I believe you.”
Tumblr media
Hakan’s hand settled around her waist. He instinctively pulled her in close to assess her expression. The innocence of her words often never matched the mischief in her eyes. “A deli?” The word rolling off on his own tongue sounded just as insane as it did coming off hers. Hakan Aydin didn’t hang around delis and he surely did not eat at one. Yet, the more he listened to her spin the praises of such a bizarre adventure, he felt himself giving in. His assistant popped in the doorway with an agape expression at the two tangled up in one another. He had been engaged to Celin for a year and no one had ever seen them touch beyond a passing hand along the shoulder or squeeze of the hand. Her mouth hung open with Dilan’s order before tapping away on her tablet before retreating back into the corridor.
“You are nothing but trouble, küçük yildiz.” Hakan allowed her to whisk him through the lobby. His hand anchored in hers as they broke through the grandiose glass doors. The warm breeze rolled of their skin along with the bright yellow rays that cast their shadows across the pavement. “Are you sure you want to go to that deli? I can get Bahir to get us a table everywhere you want.”
-
Dilan had stayed up the majority of the night for this basket. Other clients would get a fruit basket, perhaps a bottle of champagne and some cookies. Nothing that warranted both time and effort. Hakan was something different to her. He’d watch her grow up and been around for her most intimate moments, which made this personal and intimate. Cheeks flushed red as he observed the package she’d set before him. Somehow, she had hoped that perhaps she would be long gone when he’d go through the basket. It was meant to be a reminder of what he could have had, what he could have. “I’m just glad you like it,” she almost chocked out. She felt smaller than she wanted to be. It had taken years for her to crawl out of the box they’d both placed her in as the younger sister of his friend. A younger girl who had formed a pathetic crush on the older boy who hung out around her home. Never truly seen as nothing more than a cute girl who followed them like a puppy. Her gaze flicked at the bottle of champagne as she smiled at him. “It’s wonderful. I made sure to pick one that I approved of.” Her head fell into a nod as she inched closer then.
Her gaze moved over the picture but flicked back to his expression as she fixed a piece of decoration that had been misplaced during her clumsy climb to his office. At his words, she could only smirk at him. “I work efficiently for all my customers.” She whispered as she met his gaze. It was a balance in her dealings with the male. While she wanted him to see her as an equal and not the little girl he’d once known her to be, she also wanted him to be reminded that he was but a client. He wanted them to go back to what they were before they slept together which meant that she would need to remind her of that. A small part of her hoped that it would pain him. Perhaps make him realize that it was not what he wanted after all. But stubbornness was a fundamental trait of Hakan’s. “But thank you,” she whispered as she leaned forward to press a kiss to his cheek, “for your trust.”
Tumblr media
Her heart threatened to jump out of her chest as she slight pull to his form. Swallowing thickly, she provided a soft smile to the shocked assistant on their way out. “A deli that’s family owned,” the brunette explained when her attention returned to him. “It’s small and probably not up to your exaggerated hygienic standards but the food is delicious.” She warned him as they made their way out of  his office. It had been a new find of hers and she had become slightly obsessed with the place. Pausing to peer at him as they left the threshold of his office, finding her his hand for her to slide into. “I pick this time and then the next time it’s your choice.”She assured him. There was no doubt that he’d pick somewhere more lavish and cover the cost, but she wanted to rattle his normalcy a little. Pull him out of his comfort zone where everyone wasn’t so mechanic. There was life and character in that deli.
“I’m always trouble,” she said with a slight hint of a mischievous grin on her expression. He had known that better than most. “It’s always warranted through.” With a wink, she lead him towards the sidewalk before smirking. “I’m positive and as appealing as that sound, I’ll have to ask for a rain check.” There was a bounce of excitement in her step, looking at him when they arrived. “Do you trust me?” She questioned softly. Before he could answer, she opened the door and was welcomed by a man of their age — the owners son — calling out to her. Rather than her name, however, he called her his ray of sunshine. “I was wearing yellow when I first came here,” she explained to Haken beneath her breath before turning to Sergio with a smile. The flirtations had passed over her head slightly, especially with Hakan at her side.

hakanxaydin:
Hakan remained unmoved at his desk. He watched the room thin out with an ungodly speed. Those little rats.. his words stilled once the logic set in. It wasn’t like he was the easiest man to work with. Perfection wasn’t enough. Hakan couldn’t accept half measures or any attempts. The only thing acceptable in this building was a sure fire success. Maybe that’s why everyone distanced themselves from him; his unattainable vision and prickly nature didn’t exactly seem enticing enough to break down the walls that curled around his heart. Hakan didn’t mind solitude. It gave him more time to think about his impact on this world and the rising amount of zeroes in the bank.
Sighing heavily, he finally willed himself out of the leather bound rolling chair. The dismaying shrills of his assistant slipped beneath the creaks of the door. Light broke through the space with lightning speed and illuminated her soft curves. Hakan didn’t fight the involuntary curl of his lips at the sight of her. It felt like the weight of the room had been shoved off his shoulders. “Merhaba,” his greeted faded at the haste of motions. Hakan barely noticed the neatly wrapped basket once her arms curled around his neck. His hand rose up to glide along her back and rested along the back of her neck. To others, this would look so intimate between friends; maybe it was.
It’s yours. And I’m yours.
His lonely little heart yearned to be released from its cage to perch in her hands. Hakan stiffened once the gap widened between them. The lofty haze that rolled over his body whenever she was close began to fade. He peered down at the basket with a low chuckle. Of course she went out of her way to make people feel at home. Her kindness is unreal. “That’s great news and very thoughtful,” he cast once gaze down at the basket before placing it his desk. Her precaution was sweet. He didn’t care what legal hoops that he needed to jump through to procure that house that overlooked the ocean. A home he saw visions of her gracing in his wildest dreams. In another life I suppose. Hakan plucked the contract from her dainty fingers and with one swift swoop his signature graced the faint dotted line.
“No need for the consult, I trust you.” Hakan handed it back to her with a subtle grin. “No, you didn’t. Actually.. a better congratulations would be lunch. What do you say?”

-
The hug hadn’t been planned until her arms wrapped around him, though it was the sensation of his hand upon her neck that jolted her. His arms around her, form pressed into him. Selfishly, Dilan allowed the hug to go on longer than she would a mere acquaintance of client. His cologne wafted and her arms tightened around him, lips brushing along his neck. It was hard to remain planted on solid ground whilst being pulled into his orbit. A simple touch could make the brunette drunk and push her off balance. A hand ran down his back, allowing both limbs to return to her side when she reluctantly stepped back to present him with the crafted gift she had made. A new home was something worth celebrating and she cherished the thought of being the first to give him an house warming gift.
“It wasn’t a problem at all,” she said softly as she touched the tissue paper she’d expertly crafted. It had taken hours for her to collect the items she wanted, even longer to decide on placement, and practically the entire night to ensure that her decor didn’t seem too planned. Still, she had analyzed every single aspect in the hope that he would cherish it. “There’s some champagne for you to pop with... whomever you’d like to celebrate.” She spoke softly, brushing the treats, “some snacks,” she continued as her hand hovered over a picture of her in front of his house, “an added touch for fun.” She smiled, her gaze lifting to meet his albeit the flush of her cheeks. Maybe she’d done too much?
Her brow raised when the documents were returned to her. Had anyone else been in the room, she was certain an echoed gasp would follow. She’d only known the male to be meticulous with his money. Control was something he took pride in and the mere vote of confidence had left her speechless. She pressed the contract to her chest before nodding. “You trust me,” she echoed.
“I didn’t expect that given the last conversation we had you told me not to damage anymore public property.” She paused as she looked him over momentarily. “I’m much more level-headed now.” Dilan leaned in, her voice falling a few octaves. “I promise.” There were times and places to tease, but this was not one, not whilst she had such large amounts of his money at play.
“I’m starving,” she said with a nod, inching closer to pull his arm around her waste. “There’s a little deli around the corner. It’s a hole in the wall and doesn’t look like much but I was told it was delicious.” She told him as her hand settled upon his back. “We should visit it. It’s in walking distance.” As she led them to the door, refusing to allow him any time to change his mind or find another project to work on. Her gaze flicked over to his assistant when they found themselves hovering by the door, her hand curling around his absentmindedly. “Block off an hour and a half..... No, two hours from Mr. Aydin’s schedule please. I promise to return him in one piece.” Stepping forward, she tugged on his hand to lead him out rapidly in the hope he wouldn’t object.
Just in case he did, she turned to look at him with wide eyes and a jutted lip. “....For me?”

hakanxaydin:
Success didn’t come from distant dreams or desired fantasy. It came from compromise and accepting the hardline reality that life was cruel. Even in his wildest of fantasies, he knew he could never love her without breaking her. The kindling fire that simply never burned in his soul flickered to life in her presence. Ceren left him because she couldn’t stand the frigid chill that sank around his bones. Hakan made his choice and signed himself over to the devil to ensure his family’s success. For a while it had been enough for him. The flimsy boundaries of his engagement gave him cover from the inquiry but it didn’t feed his soul. Merely, it fluffed up the spaces that were meant for a man of his status.
Marriage, the grand, kids, and a mistress.
Hakan didn’t want the latter. He knew no matter what he did he’d never able the bottle the lightning that charged around Dilan’s body. A forbidden jolt of ecstasy that his lifeless being didn’t deserve. Selcuk had been his out; the staple being that kept him in line. His trespassing betrayal flung open the doors and had allowed Hakan to fulfill his hungering desire to pour himself into her. Dilan, in her ethereal kindness, embraced him in the darkest of nights without question; and gifted him with the one thing he had missed–passion. His gaze dipped back to engage the lustful pout that curled up on her lips. “That’s the eternal quandary, isn’t it?” Hakan mused back with a lack luster grin. He constant shadowboxed with himself; a war he never thought he would outgrow or succeed. Her words poured quite the chill over his skin. Nothing about you is simple, that’s why. You’re the most complex and infuriating woman I’ve ever met. Impulsive and curious. Dangerous and forgiving.
The bitterness on his tongue distracted him from his longing. Dilan’s beautiful desire spoke to him but his head shut the iron wrought gate on his heart. “That’s ambition,” he muttered. “You make it sound so simple–isn’t that ironic.” Hakan slowed down as they gilded over the open road towards her home. His shoulders straightened at the safety of their redirection. “Perfect. I’m not surprised. You’ve got a keen eye.” Creeping into the space along the curb, he eased into park.
Hakan reached out absentmindedly to brush a few stray wisps of hair out of her eyes before flashing the smirk reserved for her. “Don’t go vandalizing anyone’s property. Goodnight, Dilan Aslan.”
–time skip–
The clock ticked loudly over his head. Unlike his partners, Hakan normally enjoyed the mechanical reminder that the world couldn’t be vastly complicated without its simplicity. Tech wasn’t always wires and circuit boards but cranks, gears, and something even as simple as a ball point dispersing ink with light pressure. It kept him humble. Although, today, he couldn’t fight the rising discomfort of the incessant ticking.
‘I want breathtaking, astonishing, extraordinary, awe-inspiring kind of life and love.’  I think you deserve that too
Her words mixed sinfully in time with the rhythmic pass of the hand. The presentations flashed before his tired eyes but slipped passed his passive thoughts. “Alright, alright,” the tip of his pen tapped against the edge of his laptop. “Why don’t we wrap up and pick this up after lunch.” The aghast expression of his employees was almost laughable. Hakan wasn’t quite in the mood to psycho analyze their shock.
“Git.”
Tumblr media
Dilan remained silent for the majority of the return home. She allowed herself to bask in the sunlight that poured through the car, the wafting of his cologne as it filled her senses. There were moments when she closed her eyes that she could still his touch upon her, the weight of his form, the passion in his kiss. The tension grew and while she remained uncertain as to what lingered within his thick skull, she knew for certain that the attraction was shared. He was merely unwilling to give into anything that would take him away from his work. She, for all intents and purposes, was a distraction.
His words filled the silence as she peered in his direction why he reached her home. “I also know you,” she stated simply. No matter how much he tried to hide behind his work, she had seen various sides of him that rarely surfaced. His desires, likes — all of which she’d memorized;  they all served her in order to find the person home for him. Turning her gaze to him when the car came to a stop, her head tilted towards the palm that rose to her face. A small smile was returned to him, smile albeit the roll of her eyes. “Have a good night, Hakan Aydin”
- — TIME SKIP — -
A call was made to ensure the offer was in place. Full price. While she’d prepared for some negotiations, the owners were quick to accept the offer. With the time being later at night, Dilan decided that she would deliver the good news in person.
The brunette rose with the sun, sending a quick text message to Hakin’s assistant about her impromptu visit around lunch time. After all, she wanted to take the time to put a package together and print out the contract that would need the male’s signature. She hoped to catch him between meetings but fully prepared that she would have to leave the package with his assistant instead. It wasn’t as if he ever had time to not be busy.
Lunch arrive and she stepped out of her car that was parked outside of his office. Heels clicked with the space as she walked in, the contract tucked beneath her arm while she held a package of various items. Some baked goods, a bottle of champagne for celebration, a pair of oven mitts as an house warming gift and a picture of herself taking down the for sale sign in front of his home. The latter was not gifted to all her clients but a small addition for him. Perhaps she hoped that he would catch glimpse of the picture and it would be enough for him to think of her from time to time. Wishful thinking, maybe.
Dark hues flicked across the expanse of his office as she moved towards his assistant’s office. “Hello, is Hakan available?” She asked, depositing the basket on the desk while peering over the beautiful assistant that worked alongside him. Her head fell into a nod when she explained that he was in a meeting and she could leave a note.
Just as the pen found the surface of the paper, she heard doors opening and bodies filtering out of his office. Before his assistant could confirm his newfound availability, she had already plucked the basket in her arms and moved to his office. A bright smile crept upon her features as she looked him over. “Hakan.”
“It’s yours,” she said with a little laugh as she opened her arms to wrap around him, the excitement bubble out of her chest. Pulling back, she picked up the basket she’d deposited for an instant and proceeded to give it to him. “I make baskets for all my new home owners.” A blatant lie but she wasn’t going to willingly admit she’d went beyond for him. “Here is the contract that you can look over with your lawyers. I just felt that perhaps it would be best suited to come in person.”
“Congratulations.”
Her gaze flicked around in confusion for a moment. “Was I bothering your lunch?”

hakanxaydin:
The once impenetrable Hakan Aydin crumbled at the slightest of glances that she had thrown his way. For years, he had pushed the comfort that provided off as the benefits of a pseudo-little sister; that was what she had to be for him because of the age difference and her brother. How could be cross such a line with someone he trusted? If only he knew that Selçuk couldn’t be trusted. He was never worth all of the restraint; because truth be told everything about her disarmed his well crafted armor.  She wasn’t looking for some big pay out or infamy by being there beside him. Instead, she chose to deal with the good and the bad with her own chaotic grace. Hakan admired her fire; it often brought peace to the void that swirled in his mind. Yet, the idea of allowing himself to be real with brought the titan to his knees. This world was cruel, he understood that, so he had to be cruel back. There was an art to war but his heart didn’t want to contend with the soft curve of her body; nor did he wish to be vulnerable with the one person who could truly knock him out.
Ceren had been the wise choice. A woman who desired nothing more than the finer things and couldn’t care less about the world he was building. Instead, she happily melded into the foreground parading around with a closed mind. Dilan was curious and kind. She breathed beauty into the world. Too much goddamn beauty. How could he ever give her half of what she gave him?
Hope, joy, insanity..
“I thrive off being the best at everything, you know that.” The joke ebbed off his lips faster than his mind could reassess the possible reverb of her retort. His gaze skated across the horizon that was studded with the blurred lights of traffic. Hakan would give anything to return to the mountains to see the stars in full display. There was something about the fresh air and seclusion that excited him. He felt better when he was alone. The control freak in him liked to micromanage his own life. I would take her there.. the lonely thought died on the back of his tongue as he nodded along with her words. “That would be for the best,” he said gently. Hakan needed to be strong and deny the carnal desire that had blossomed in his breast for her. Another girl. He sighed at the way sounded coming off her lips. “Contrary to common thought, I am not like that. I don’t–” Hakan paused for a moment to peer up at her. “It’s not like that. You’re just another girl..” he couldn’t complete his sentence. None of the truths that he was comfortable with sharing were good enought. “We will go back to before that night. Not because we regret it but because it was simpler.”
Tumblr media
“Wonderful. I have a morning filled with meetings. Please check in with my secretary instead of storming in..” he held back a chuckle. “The place is beautiful, by the way, I didn’t get to tell you that before you went off to key my car.”
Dilan had managed to catch a slight crack in the male’s armour since she was much younger. A slight hint of a pout, widened hues, and maybe a stomp of her foot was enough to stay her brother’s friend. It was how she got away with too much at Hakan would then convince Selcuk. Nevertheless, she hadn’t ever attached such an effect to any possible weakness. She had a soft spot for the younger sister of his friend. Simple as that. Certainly there had been a shift as they grew older. Her tactics took on a more seductive nature. A pout as she inched closer, a longer exchange of gazes — but then he had vowed to marry Ceren. She’d kept her distance as best as she could for the mere fact that it pained her to watch them together. Her unrequited love had taken a toll on her form. Soon, news came of the infidelity and despite the position it left her in, it was his side that she sought. The brunette had remained study despite his attempts to push her away in order to process his grief on his own.
Perhaps things would have been much different had she allowed him to chase her away. Maybe she wouldn’t have felt like she’d wasted such time on a man who couldn’t fathom the thought of loving her in return. A mere distraction is what she’d provided him and it was foolish for her to think that he would take her for anything more. Lessons Learnt.
Tumblr media
Her eyes rolled as a pained laugh escaped her lips. “You’re in constant competition but sometimes, I wonder with who. Yourself?” she questioned with a raise of her brow. There was always time for work but never for fun. Albeit the times she had forced him away from his computers and documents after strenuous hours of work. Her eyes flicked towards him as he spoke. It took every ounce of energy to remain rooted in her seat as opposed to lunging forward to shake him. She was not another girl yet she watched him turn his back to her. Was it timing? An inability of a new relationship? A mere desire for a warm body to keep him company at night? A small sigh escaped as her head pressed into the seat. “Simpler,” she echoed with a slight laugh. “There’s something heartbreaking about simple. I’ve never been one to enjoy it much.” She said truthfully, dark hues flicked towards her passenger window. “I want breathtaking, astonishing, extraordinary, awe-inspiring kind of life and love.” She wouldn’t settle for less. If Hakan Ayden wanted simple then perhaps this route was best suited for them. “I think you deserve that too.” She tacts on.
And all too suddenly, the personal and in-depth conversation was cut short. “I’ll be sure to do so once I get the offer in and have any news.” The brunette mentioned with a nod before peering at him. “I knew you’d like it.” She said softly, despite the added roll of her eyes at his last comment.

hakanxaydin:
Hakan’s loose questioning of her agency was just as bad as his ghosting cowardice. Dilan didn’t need anyone to save her. She never did but that didn’t mean he didn’t selfishly want to protect her light. The world wasn’t kind to beautiful women; it often casted them aside because their looks were the only quality that countered. She was so much more than a body. Her mind could bend gravity to her will and crumble the planet from the inside out. Yet, she defaulted that power to the impulse that pulsed through her nimble fingers. Hakan watched first hand how easily her talents were watered down in her theatrics. He wondered if they were a response to the constant overprotection forced upon her from all sides. Selçuk wasn’t the easier person to defy and he, himself, didn’t exactly leave much room for debate.
“I wish you’d think before you fly into a fit. You would be unstoppable if you took a breath,” he retorted with a lame sigh passing his agape lips. With every moment that passed, he felt himself being drained by her resistance. Neither of them were going to win this without taking a bit of the other’s flesh with them. Hakan didn’t want to spar with her; especially with her being so close but out of reach. His gluttonous fingers ached to pass along her skin. To drag her into his arms and sail into obsidian horizon. There was no putting this one to bed. The fissure in their fragile bond deepening with each painful word. “I.. I don’t know what you want me to say, Dilan. Nothing I say will change what happened and I don’t want to piss you off anymore than I obviously already have. Not at the expense of another car,” he fired back. Hakan’s expression fell at his deflating mood.
Turning his gaze to her, the light radiating through her window and illuminating the soft curve of her cupid’s bow. A lapse in his judgment and a complete loss of control, he reached out to brush his thumb along her cheek. “You are not someone worth wishing away. Even if you get a thrill out of pissing me off, you are one of the few things in my life that I don’t regret.” He allowed his hand to fall back into his lap.
Tumblr media
“No need,” he shook his head with a subtle grin. “I am the one who prompted the tantrum. I felt it was my duty to make it right.” Because I can’t seem to make it right tonight with us. “You’re going to put in an offer for that house. Tell them I’ll pay in full. I want it and you can make that happen. Then we’ll be square.”
-
Dilan had spent years silently watching him from afar. She envied the women who were on his arm, hoped that perhaps a light would come on in Hakan’s head that would finally help him see her. His fiance’s affair had been a bittersweet blessing for Dilan. It had helped pave a path closer to him as she remained at his side while he silently mourned his relationship. Not that he’d allowed anyone to truly see the pain beneath the armour he bore. There was a version of himself that he presented to the world; strong, business-oriented, cold, calculated, determined. While those traits resided within him, there was much more to the male she’d gotten to see. His smile, albeit a rare sight, could steal her breath away. A sort of kindness and compassion that was reserved for a select few.
“There aren’t many people who are so efficient at getting under my skin, Hakan.” The brunette retorted as she peered in his direction. Dilan felt wholeheartedly. Shutting off her emotions was not an easy task as it was the male who held onto his pride a little too tightly to allow himself to fly off the handles. Her head fell into a nod as he spoke. There were no words that he uttered that could change what had happened between them. They’d slept together and he’d disappeared from her life without word. If anything at all, it was her own fault for allowing her mind to wander off on the possibilities such an intimate act could mean. She had fallen in love with Hakan a long time ago and she’d childishly allowed herself to believe that because they’d fallen in bed together it meant that perhaps some emotions were reciprocated. “There’s nothing else to say,” she spoke softly.
The brush of fingers along her cheek pulled her attention from her passenger window as she peered over him. Did she regret it? No. Her form still trembled at the thought of his mouth along her skin and fingers grasping at her flesh. “It can’t happen again,” she said softly despite feeling her heart shatter within her chest. “I can’t be just a girl you sleep with. I refuse to be just another girl.” She’d take him as her older brother’s friend — her friend — before a man she found solace in sporadically. She wanted him all of him or nothing at all. Even if she had to watch him fall for someone else.
Tumblr media
Her eyes threatened to disappear in the back of her head at the mention of a tantrum, making her feel smaller and younger than she was. “I can do that,” she nodded. With her own commission in mind, the brunette let a small smile flash in his direction. “I’ll make it happen by tomorrow. I’ll call your office with the details.”

hakanxaydin:
Hakan’s stoic approach to life posed the most fruitful in the grand scheme of things. Overly emotional people were beacons for abuse. All of the defenses put up were moot because one perfectly laid dig was enough to unground them. Hakan’s unbothered approach forced people out into the open for him to push into the corner. It was this detachment that made him a very successful man; and an equally lonely one. Yet, here he was shouting into the proverbial void to deter the reckless woman who’s fingers curled around his heart. Dilan refused to be picked off by his self isolating and quite destructive tendencies. Instead, she pulled the kindness from his tightly furled fingers.
Until now.
Their sinfully blissful exchange broke the comfortable distance he believed that he held her at. Hakan didn’t want to admit how deeply she planted herself into his heart. The almost month had been torturous; not only because of the awkwardness that seeped into the fissures of their foundation but the yearning that he felt. If it was a perfect world, she would have been there beside him sail along the horizon. Instead, he threw a bomb into the fragile frontier that they were exploring to save himself from further heartbreak. Hakan watched her retreat farther into herself against the cool leather seats of the passenger side. His fingers curled tightly around the wheel; his knuckles turning a ghoulish ash color. “Must you be so crude?” That was all that he could muster up. Dilan was right. She wasn’t someone to be controlled or manipulated; nor was it his place to comment on how she conducted herself. It just killed him to know that she had no regard for her own safety or his sanity. “You’re right, I don’t have a say in how you decide to live but..” his words cooled as the light glowed a bright emerald that cast a shine off the hood.
Hakan’s jaw clenched at her confession. He denied the creeping fondness that colored over his skin that developed over the year; and ignored the longing looks that were shot his way. She’s a young, impressionable girl who doesn’t know what she’s doing. Be better than you are, Hakan. Dilan is never going to be an option for you considering the past. The doubts swirled in his mind with the deafening notion to allow her to believe her own assumptions. Her hating him would make this easier, wouldn’t it?
“What happened between your brother and I is between us.” His tone holding such a finality in it. “Sleeping with you had nothing to do with getting back at him. He made his choice and so did Ceren.” Hakan’s gaze tipped back to hers for a moment as he pondered his next thought. “And I made mine–and I don’t regret it.
Tumblr media
“I’ll take you home and you don’t to worry about the charges. They’ve been dropped and the damages have been covered.”
-
Dilan felt a deep sense of regret. Previous actions replayed at the back of her mind and warmed her with embarrassment. She’d once prided herself on being a strong, independent woman who wouldn’t let any man mistreat her. Multiple boyfriends had been discarded for minuscule acts that had sat wrong with her. She pushed them aside and continued on with her life as to ensure she remained focused on the goals she had set for herself. The first being a successful real estate agent. But here she was screaming at a man whom she’d slept with once. While Hakan was far from a simple stranger — she should have known better. Even if he was the man her eyes had been set on since she was a teenage, there was no excuse.
“There’s no but’s, Hakan.” She threw out. Dilan had worked tirelessly to ensure that she was seen as someone who could be taken seriously. Not only as the woman that she was, but also as an equal. Long past were the days where she was simply his friend’s little sister, but her own woman who could work alongside him professionally. A part had perhaps breathed hope that if he could see her as a comrade, then he could see her as something more. She’d placed too much upon that singular night with him — which allowed her previous sentiments to factor into what was meant to be a one night stand. She knew that now. However, she didn’t take kindly to being treated as such given their history. Now that he was aware, all she could do was accept the past as it was and move on.
At least it was the intent until he chose to correct her faulty notion on that night. “Your words and actions are conflicting, Hakan.” The brunette said as she gaze remained directed outside of her side window. “I’d feel much better if you were trying to get back at my brother. Because otherwise, I don’t really understand why you wouldn’t contact me. Even let me know you’d be gone. It may have been a one night stand but I’m not a girl you picked up at the bar.” Fingers toyed with the hem of her shirt as a shaky exhale escaped.
“You made it seem like you regretted it or wished it away.” At least, it was how she felt at a distance when she waited to hear back from him. Surely her own actions had reflected her lack of experience in these situations, and perhaps she had conveyed another image by not contacting him in turn. Sinking further into her seat, she squared her shoulders and willed their ride to end sooner rather than later.
Tumblr media
“What?!” Dilan gasped with a twist of her head in his direction. “The damage has been...... Hakan.” Her head shook as she sat up. “No, i’m responsible for the car. I’ll pay it. I don’t want it.” She didn’t want his petty money or monetary apology. “I’ll pay you back somehow.”

hakanxaydin:
The searing feeling of eyes boring into their back began to truly grate on his nerves. Hakan’s finely spun line of control began to fray beneath the pressure of her words. His actions had been questionable but necessary. The emerging needs that arose after that night couldn’t be brushed off because of one euphoric moment. Hakan didn’t know how to approach what transpired because his heart hadn’t had time to fully process what she meant to him. She is Selçuk’s little sister. She’s not someone to be played with or destroyed by the fragments of your lifestyle.. All of the little doubts forced him farther into the iron wrought cage that defended him; she was never the enemy. “No that’s not what I am saying,” he huffed. Her words boiling his blood. There’s nothing worse than being chopped down to size by the right woman. His actions were deplorable but in conventional standards would assert his manhood. Not that it was what he wished to portray; not to her. Says the one raising her voice in the middle of the street.
Hakan allowed that barbed dagger to fall from her lips and roll of his shoulders. “Dilan,” her name rolled over his own with a stern authority that he would never take up with anyone else. “Try me,” if she chose to defy him, he’d show her just how “ungentleman” like he would get. No amount of PR scandal could throw him off getting a chance to make this right. The scent of her perfume scrambled the purring rage that sung to his soul. One thought, one breath. The soft mantra rattling in his mind as his fingers unfurled from her arm to allow her to drift closer to his car.
Tumblr media
Hakan stood stoically on the curb for a moment of peace away from the alluring haze that she engulfed him in. She’s nuts and I’m an idiot for entertaining it. He slipped into the driver’s seat without a single word. Hakan watched her settle in before pulling away from the curb. Silence sat between them for a couple lights before they sat idly at the intersection.
“What in the hell was that?” He questioned. “I don’t care about the carrying on without a damn bit of sense but keying someone’s car. Things could have been so much worse. You want to hurt me, fine, do what you want but don’t compromise yourself in the process. No matter what happened between us, you’re better than that.”  The word us lingered in the forefront of his mind. This was the first time he had softly addressed the events that transpired between them.
“I didn’t mean to hurt but I had things to handle back home. I need you to understand that.” He started, his foot holding soft against the brake. “I don’t know where you got this using business but that’s a crock of shit. We’ve been through a lot–I thought you’d know that about me by now but maybe I was wrong about you to.”
-
Dilan watched Hakan intently as he spoke. A man she had come to know different than those who worked beneath or alongside him. He was not the fearful and powerful man that they had gotten to know. The one who they avoided contact with and feared disapproving. No, he was simply Hakan. A man who’d been present for many of her big moments in life. Not intentionally but because he was seen as a part of the extended family. He had been a protector for a long time; someone unattainable in any other aspect. Never had she seen herself raising her voice in this way. Hell, falling into bed with him had been reserved for her deepest fantasies. Had someone told her she would be standing before a prison arguing with him after they’d slept together, she would have called them insane. Yet, he threatened to throw her over his shoulder and the intensity of his gaze and tone brought pause. He was serious.
Her heart felt like it was in her throat at the proximity of their person and the tone he’d taken. Heat radiated through her form until she felt like she was on fire. She couldn’t seem to think clearly. At least not when he looked at her in such a way. Her form almost gravitated towards him, realizing that it would take one step in order for her to reach his lips. A mere touch to end everything and shut him up. A battle erupted in her form as her head and heart sought after two different endings. However, it was the absent touch of his hand that pulled her back to reality and forced air into her lungs. One step forward... another, and she moved to the car before she could convince herself to turn back around.
The door was pulled open and her form slid with ease into his car. Defeat. She hated the fact that it looked like she’d allowed him to win. Still, it was better than being back in that cell with a pair of itchy sweat pants. When he settled beside her, she flicked her gaze to her window until they pulled from the curb.
Tumblr media
“You don’t get to have a say in what I do or the decisions I make.” She said to him with a shake of her head. “I think the problem is that you keep seeing me as a kid that you can control. I’m a woman now, Hakan. You don’t get to scold me. Apparently I’m a woman enough for you to fuck but not enough for anything else.” Her head fell into a nod as if she finally came to understand his notion of things. Maybe he simply didn’t like her. Rejection had always stung.
A scoff escaped as she sucked in a deep breath. “I didn’t get it anywhere. My brother hurt you so that’s the easiest way to get back at him, hm? I thought I mattered more than to be some simple screw. Foolish of me. It’s been like this for years.” A sigh escaped as she shook her head. They were both adults, fighting like children. “It’s fine, Hakan. I probably misunderstood what it was. Drop me off home and we’ll forget it ever happened. You continue on with your busy life and I’ll do the same.”

hakanxaydin:
“I am the one who made a fool of you?” Hakan’s disbelief sullied his good mood. Dilan’s ability to breath life into a room into him  could easily be used to smother it. Just like her little tantrum in yet another shallow curb. “I guess you’re going to say that I am the one who held your hand and carved dick into that man’s car. You can’t project your poor choices on me.” Just like you can’t force your own on her shoulders. You’re not innocent. Hakan’s jaw stiffened at the  thoughts that happily sided with her. His fingers curled firmly around the juncture of her elbow as he drank in the sight of her. Four weeks away was enough to leave him ravenous for her beauty. To feel soak up soft glow of her skin. Had his dreams of her lived up to the real thing? Hell no. “Why does it always have to be a show with you?” His words hissed through gritted teeth. Her anger wasn’t uncalled for but did she have to unload in such a public space? “When you stop acting like a damn child, I will stop treating you like a child..” his retorts cooled on his lips at the crude accusation that dripped off her lips. Hakan was many things but a man who would use a woman wasn’t one of them.
For the first time, he was speechless.
Thump. Thump. Thump.
The thunderous rhythm of his battered heart rattled against in cage that confined it. Hakan trained himself to shy away from the feral rage that used to curl around every fine muscle of his body. He held felt nothing but that tempting burn of anger for so long before he resigned to the calculating chill that soothed his racing thoughts. The most successful person in the room was the one who held all of the pieces; despite any variable counter proposed by the opponent. Even with Ceren’s deceit, Hakan found ways to use it to build an even stronger wall around himself. Trust wasn’t given. It was hardly earned. The man needed cold hard evidence before he’d slam the door in their faces. Yet, Dilan the spritely spitfire, had managed to wedge a slivering barb of glass through his defense and jab him right in void that sunk deep into his chest.
Tumblr media
“I don’t know what the hell you’re talking about but you know it’s not..” his gaze lifted to the dim glow of flashes that illuminated their features. His fragile composure fractured right down the middle at her venomous display. She was playing it up in front of the world knowing that the best way to hurt him was to take an axe to his perfectly controlled world. Hakan shot a furious glance at the onlookers before pulling her in even closer. “You are going to get in the car or I am going to put you there myself.” This isn’t over until I said it’s over. Hakan’s gaze softened for a moment knowing that nothing he would say would permeate that thick skull of hers.“If you’d stop carrying on for a second and listen, maybe you’ll see that whatever was whispered to you isn’t the truth.”  He dipped his head lower to allow his lips to brush along the cuff of her ear.
“Lütfen.”
-
Dilan rolled dark hues dramatically. It seemed that neither wanted to see the other person’s point of view. Her own actions, she felt, were merely a result of his past ones. Had he been around a lot sooner, she would have enacted them earlier. A settled score. “Oh, I suppose you believe you were nothing but a gentleman?” She scoffed as fingers moved through her hair in tandem with the sigh of frustration that slid past her lips. He was insufferable. “You got off easy, Hakan.” She hissed in his direction because she had not yet finished with him. This was the only way she could pull at his nerves without landing herself back in jail. Control had always been an aspect the male worked feverishly to keep, and she loved nothing more but to see that vein pulse with anger as she tore the rug from beneath his feet. “All you have to do is let me go.” Dilan taunted further as she looked him in the eyes, only narrowing at his rebuttal. “Running away and ensuring that you’re unreachable rather than being a man and welcoming a discussion. Who is the immature one?” The brunette spoke louder, tone increasing with frustration and to appease the curious ears of those who paused to look at their show.
Despite knowing with certitude that her actions were slightly insane, she had spent the last few hours in jail doing little else than allowing her rage to grow. He’d used her affections for him against her — yet she had somehow ended up in jail and been made to believe that she was insane. If nothing else, the brunette would stir enough attention for phones and cameras to be pulled out. The narrative would write itself and despite being seen as the latest jealous girls in his long list — it was him they’d speak of. She’d only be seen as another faceless girl.
Tumblr media
Dilan’s lithe form came to an halt at the tone of his voice, the steadiness with which he threatened to place her in his car. “You wouldn’t dare,” she whispered back. A kicking woman over his shoulder would be a look that would sell millions. By the time Dilan decided if the newfound attention was bad or not, his approach was all consuming. Not amount of hatred could wipe away the effects the male held over her. Her breathing slowed as dark hues flicked over the expanse of his face. The cologne engulfed her until she returned to that night; convinced she could still feel his grasp on her bare form. She’d wanted him long before that night but feared she had been seen as nothing but that younger girl. A friend. Her brother’s sister. Dilan had allowed herself to believe that perhaps those sentiments had been returned. How wrong she had been.
His words reached past the haze, fully registering them.
“I’ll get in the car but let go of me.” She hissed, her tone fractured as it slipped past full lips. Brushing past him, she marched to his car. The threat of another charge loomed over her and the events of the day had fully drained the brunette. “Take me home.”

hakanxaydin:
It was a mistake!
Her shrill plea engulfed in the fading sounds of traffic and the roaring hum of his engine. Hakan knew that leaving her here without an aid would be wrong but satisfying. For the better half of their lives, he watched Dilan blossom from the curious girl into the fearsome woman without bound. Her lack of forward planning and control had always been the thorn in her growth but an asset in her success. People were drawn into her like a moth to a flame to figure out what she would do next. Hakan had fallen victim to that more often than he was willing to admit but the respect that he held for her brother always heeded his heavy heart. That respect had faded the moment he had plunged the knife into his back. Although, his attraction to Dilan never stemmed from the shocking affair but had slowly been manifesting for a long time; he had fallen too weak to resist her. Hakan watched her frame fade in his rear view mirror. Punching in Sefet’s number, he listened to brief twill of the line before it connected. “Merhaba Hakan bey,” the obedient voice echoed through his car speakers. “Merhaba Sefet. I need you to swing by the listing Dilan had scheduled to show now. There’s a matter I couldn’t handle because I’ve been summoned back to the office. I want you to get information on the driver and ensure nothing happens to Dilan. I am confident that you can get the man to see how minor in scale the offense but do not let on. I want her to sweat it out.” Hakan cleared his throat to shake off the laughter in his voice. Sefet reassured his understanding of the situation before hanging up.
All the best lessons are learned with a little humility. His father used to tell him that religiously to impact his decision making. It’s why Hakan never stepped out into a situation that he hadn’t reassessed over and over again. Control meant power. He didn’t exactly take well to being out of control. Reeving the engine, he moved fluidly through the heavy flow of traffic.
                                                    — TIME SKIP —
Tumblr media
After a couple meetings and the neat conclusion of the day’s unfortunate events, Hakan made his way to retrieve his little jail bird. His body leaned into the sleek body of his car as he waited for her to emerge. Hakan had made short work of the bill of her little tantrum and no serious offense would stain her record. “” His mirthful gaze lit up at the sudden recoginition that ignited her own; disgust rolled over her features as she brushed passed him. “I didn’t expect a thank you but an apology for the time you’ve wasted would be nice. The levity in his comment hung for a beat before he noticed her refusal to stop and continued on towards the road.
There’s no way in hell..
“She can’t be serious,” he muttered with a twinge of attitude. A little gratitude wouldn’t kill her. Hakan peeled himself up from the sturdy frame and quickened his own gait to catch up with hers. He reached out to catch the inside of her elbow. “Yeter, Dilan.” His jaw snapped shut at her little act of defiance. “I thought a little time to cool off would do you good but enough is enough. You’re going to get in the car and stop this madness, do you understand?”
-
Deep breaths.  Deep breaths.  Deep breaths.
She felt every ounce of self-control she had slowly dwindle away. The blatant disregard of any fault apart from a mere statement about lack of time to reach out. No ability to apologize for toying with her emotions in order to appease his desire for revenge. The fact that she’d gone out of her way to show him a home only to end up in jail. It was bound to come to an head. The brunette was on a brink of a mental breakdown. Her feet forced her forward in the hope of putting as much distance between herself and Hakan as she could. A run down bus ride to town felt better than having to sit in a car only to be lectured the entire ride home. “An apology?” She echoed on a laugh, though her tone had turned mocking as if he was insane. “You wasted my time. I went out of my way to show you a home only to be made a fool of.” Her head shook as the growing sensation of anger intensified. It was a miracle she hadn’t torn her hair out in frustration. Frankly, she would have hit him by now had she not just been released from jail mere minutes ago.
The sensation of his grasp upon her arm, added with his tone, was the last drop needed to make her anger bubble over. “Do you use this tone with everyone or just me?” the brunette hissed as she attempted to pry her arm from his grasp. “I’m not a child. I will not stop because you cannot deal with any of your faults.” He liked his privacy and it was that reason that she ensured to speak loudly for those around. His discomfort would only appease her. “You must have felt like a big man to fuck the girl who had a crush on you since she was a teenager. Two birds and one stone, right?. You get your dick wet whilst pissing off the person who could take your ex-fiance from you.” Each word was laced with venom as she attempted to pull back. If she wasn’t so close, she may have hit him.
“I guess it’s not so bad given that you didn’t even make me cum.” She said aloud with a wry grin on her features, clearly lying in order to provide a show for those around them. A story such as theirs could be sold to tabloids and secure this underpaid guards rent money for three months. Inching closer, her gaze met his eyes before it flicked to his lips as her voice faltered momentarily.
Tumblr media
“It ends here. You got what you wanted and I no longer want to see you. I’ll pay you back for the bail..” The brunette assured him despite knowing that his money was the least of his worries at the moment. “I believe your assistant has my number after all the text I sent her way.” A pregnant pause fell until they parted again; “Do you understand me?”  She echoed his previous words as her gaze remained steady on his.

hakanxaydin:
Hakan strolled down the cobble paved walkway praying that each step would uncoil the knots she forced along his shoulders. Why did he even care? The phone works both ways, didn’t it? Dilan didn’t seem the kind of woman who waited for normative conventions to satisfy her. He recalled her being the one to make the first move; not that he minded. That night, he wanted to be everywhere but in that dingy bar downtown, and she just happened to sweeten the horrible evening. That would be the first and last time he allowed his best mate to pick the venue. There’s something so disturbing about the sticky, heaviness of his feet against the filthy floors. He wasn’t the type of man who enjoyed his beers served in a smudged glass being saturated by the thick looming smoke. Dilan flashed through the room like a beam of light. His inhibitions lowered and guard virtually pulverized by the tempting sway of her hips. Who would have thought she’d be the one to make him break all of his rules?
Tumblr media
He stood stoically on the curves lip of the sidewalk to take in the impulsivity that always seemed to seep out in yet another grandiose tantrum. Hakan bit back the mirth that wished to curve up on his lips at the chrome coat that peeled away in the wake of her carving. D.I.C.k the ‘k’ definitely a rushed job. “How mature,” he sucked on his teeth as he marveled over at her artful little tantrum. When was she going to learn that throwing a fit would never secure her the result she sought after. Hakan chuckled at the confidence that blossomed in her before being smothered by the vicious bite of her words. He rounded the sad display to stand before her. Hakan leaned into the steel shell of her door to look her right into the eyes. “Do you ever think before you act? For a smart woman, you act like a child. I thought you would grow out of that, küçük yıldız.” Hakan gingerly wiped the excess lipstick from beneath her plump bottom lip before he raised his keys to unlock the car that sat on the opposite side of hers. Leading back with his supporting foot, he pulled away from her.
“Bu sefer güzel bir gülüşün seni kurtaracağını sanmıyorum.” Hakan called back as he climbed into his car. The true owner stepping closer to the collateral damage.
“Good day, Dilan.”
-
“Self-knowledge is the first step of maturity. I was merely attempting to help you.” A hand extended to the creative, albeit rushed, piece of art. He was a dick. She felt he needed to be aware of that. A wry grin is sent his way as she pressed her form into the door at his approach, ensuring the metal barrier remained fixed between them. A steady surface to lean upon when her knees threaten to buckle as his cologne engulfed her. His presence had affected her since she was a teenager, watching him from afar. She’d turned into an adult and had been seen as an equal of sorts rather than a child. At least until moments arose where he used their age different to his advantage. She loathed him. Half tempted to slap or kiss him, the brunette curls her hand around the side of the door instead. Neither would prove to be affective. “Get away from my car, Hakan.” Dilan hissed at him, uncurling stiff fingers to reach for his hand that had long left her lesser lip. It was left in the air as the clicking sound captured her attention.
The realization came slow, unbearably so. The organ beneath her breast bone lunged forward as it dawned upon her. Heat crept up her neck until the brunette felt like she was going to be sick.
The screams of the owner were heard in a tunnel as haze settled over her mind, only to be slammed into reality with the male’s words. A smile couldn’t get her out of...  Oh. Her attention turns to the very angered gentleman who has already dialled 911 before she could even get the word vomit from her mouth. “It’s a mistake!” She begins to explain but even she knows how futile it is.
                                                                 — TIME SKIP —
She decides that jail isn’t a good look for her. They’ve allowed her to keep her clothes and she finds that the mere gesture to be a luxury. Especially since it’s followed by a strip search. The time goes slow and she’s heard all about the fifteen children shared amongst six women. It’s been a few hours but it feels like an eternity. So much so that as her name parts from the guards lips, she lunges forward quick enough that it makes her dizzy. “Is it time for my call?” she asks softly.
“You’ve been bailed out.”
The process goes quicker then she expects, the plastic ziplock containing her items is tucked beneath her arm as she steps out of the building and instantly blinks to adjust to the sunlight.
Stepping past the gates, the sight of Hakan forces her to stop short as she turns around, but is welcomed by the sound of slamming metal. Fuck. Brushing past him, the brunette begins to walk the road towards a nearby bus station that was mentioned by the guard. “If you’re waiting for a thank you, I’d suggest holding your breath. That might be fun.”

hakanxaydin:
Real smooth, Hakan.
The cruelty that spilled from his feigned indifference chilled the space between them. He didn’t think it was possible to make the air any frosty; but if anyone could push the limits it would be him. Hakan’s gaze drifted to the cerulean colored waves that receded freely from the static shore. The fluid motion of the water return to the free current mocked the stifling suffocation of his own gilded cage. In this life and the next, there was no room for him to be free. His wings clipped the day he decided to follow in his father’s footsteps. Success meant everything; and the sins of the father are always inherited by the son. His tucked into the silk lined pockets of his pants as she spun out with fury. Her courageous yet sinful lips moved with precision. Hakan felt himself amused by the fire that burned beneath her skin.; almost like he encouraged the little tantrums just to imagine how he’d shut her up.  Dilan flew so far off the handle at times; he couldn’t help but grimace at the dramatics but enjoy the freedom of her impulsivity.
You’re not worth it.
The weight of her words sunk heavy on his heart and pulled the clouds that plagued his every thoughts back into view. I don’t need to be worth it for you. I don’t owe or anyone else a goddamn thing. Hakan expelled a humorless chuckle accompanied with an even sigh. If he focused on his breathing long enough to let the anger fade, he may be able to salvage this appointment. To be honest, he didn’t even want to come today knowing full well that things would be weird. Sex changed everything. And the fact that you left the next day without a word. The weight of the note he had written her hung heavy in the lapel of his jacket. Since their night together, he had held onto it like a gentle reminder of the moment Hakan Aydin let the world fall from his shoulders selfishly. He cherished that slight reprieve. Dilan’s angelic features morphed briefly between annoyance to sorrow back to rage. Her laughter, curt and defensive, still lightened the hold that her presence on him. Hakan leaned into the sharp feeling of her hand coming down on his chest. He instinctively lifted his hand to catch his falling star but heeded the action with a low hum. Hakan catch the business card as he billowed beneath the release of her hand. Dilan’s retreat pulled all the air from the room and left him once more drowning in the vacuum he created. Her words stung and lingered. Not that I’m surprised after you used me to get back at my brother and your ex-wife. “Dilan,” Hakan response cut short by the chaotic vibration of his cellphone.
Tumblr media
“Now is not the time,” he hissed. The jumpy sound of his assistant’s voice echoed on the other line. We need you back at the office. There’s a mini crisis that needs handling. Hakan sighed at the thought before slipping his phone and Dilan’s business card into his pocket. He stepped back out into the balmy afternoon with a kinked brow. His keys dangling from his pocket as he stalked slowly back towards his car.
-
Jealous? Jealous?!
His voice rang through her mind loud enough that the urge to scream to muffle it. Rather than allow herself to get worked up, the brunette sucked in a deep breath with each step she took towards the car parked before the home. Well deserved revenge. An eye for an eye and if he wanted to pursue her for any damages, than she’d have to accept the consequences that came with it. There had been no instant denial when accusations spilled from her lips, leaving her to believe that previous assumptions had been correct. Whether his intent had been precisely to get back at his ex-girlfriend and her brother, or for any other reason, their night had been just that. A mindless night that had come and gone without second thought. With a quick glance over her shoulder, she felt instant relief when there was no sight of the male behind her. Circling around the car, the brunette pressed her key at the front of the car and began to write the personal message to the male.
D. I. C.
Her K was half finished when she noted the male’s shadow appear int he door way, forcing her to hurriedly finish the last letter which was less detailed as the first three, but legible nonetheless. Stuffing her hand into her pocket, she searched for the crimson lipstick. With a painted smile on her face, the brunette leaned forward to press a kiss above the K. Her hope was that he’d a fraction of the anger that had been seething in the pit of her stomach for the last month since his departure. The countless calls had been futile while his staff continuously sent her for a loop with countless excuses. Her refusal to text him had stemmed from her pride. The inability to be the one chasing him. Circling around his car towards her own, the brunette smirked in his direction as if all was well once more. No doubt that her actions and fluctuating mood could be seen as insanity.
Tumblr media
“Umarım iyi bir hayatın olur. Belki seni Ceren ve kardeşimin düğününde görürüm.” She said as she unlocked her car door and stood by it. A low blow. However, he’d managed to unleash the anger she had believed to have a good handle on this last few months. Despite having prepared for this meeting and seeing Hakan once more, she had underestimated her frustration.

hakanxaydin:
Hakan knew how to make uncomfortable decisions when it came to any and all business decisions. He figured out the best ways to dispel the consequences of disappointment and anger. They had no place in business. Those rules didn’t apply to the emotions of those around him. He thought of her for weeks. The ghosting feeling of her lips on his skin to the wispy scent of her hair haunted him. He had composed many emails and texts but never had the courage to send them. Despite having most everything a person needed, he knew it wouldn’t be enough. Ceren left him because he wouldn’t give her the parts of him that were broken. He didn’t know how to let anyone see all of him; just the man he crafted beneath the fine dull of his career. Sleeping with Dilan seemed wrong because she deserved more than some drunken hook up. They spent the better half of their wives interwoven by the connection fostered by his friendship with her brother. Yet, they never factored in that soft twilight where they collided. He didn’t regret it. He just couldn’t admit that it mattered to him. Not when the last people he cared for drove the knife so far in his back. “Dilan,” her name rolled off his tongue with such precision. “Let’s not do this here,” his words sweeping and curt. “You know that I don’t have the luxury of free time. I..” am sorry for being a dick. “Should I reached out personally. I thought my assistant reached out.”
Hakan brushed away the nonexistent wrinkles from the front of his suit jacket as he followed her. Dilan’s opposition faded in the flowering description rolled off her tongue. He admired the way she poured herself into the space she showed. No piece of information unsaid or confirmed with her own bright eyes. “We shall,” he said softly. Dilan’s faux professionalism slipped as she quickly ascended the stairs. There was no wait in her gait but a hasty climb to the top. Hakan paused for a moment to take in the soft curves of her body before following suit up the stairs. His shoulder tensed at the way her words lingers. What more could a single bachelor ask for. The wound of his previous relationship had been slow to close. He loved Ceren but the true thorn in his side was losing. There was nothing int his world that Hakan hated more than losing.
Tumblr media
“You say this as if I will entertaining such debauchery…” his mirthful thoughts manifesting on his tongue. “It almost seems like you’re jealous.”
Dilan felt her teeth grit harder she spent with the male to the point that her jaw ached. The dismissal was truly what irked her the most. A simple text could have prevented the weeks of seething after a man who couldn’t find a few seconds out of his day to schedule time upon his return to speak. Hell, she would have accepted a bouquet of flowers. Nothing. In fact, it was his office who had schedule this appointment. Not to speak about past events, but to brush it under the rug while they looked for a new home. How he wasn’t slapped more often was beyond her. Peering out the window as he dismissed her once more, her eyes threatened to roll inside her head. “I’m not going to do this here because I have no fucking care. Not because you’re telling me to. Just so you know,” she spoke bluntly as her gaze settled upon him. “As for your little excuse, it’s bullshit and we both know it. You’re on your phone all day taking calls and sending emails. A text message was all it would have ... — You know what, no. You’re not worth it.” Dilan said to herself as she marched the stairs to the second floor. She wouldn’t allow him to get the best of her. A lesson learned if anything and she’d be smarter than that next time. Hakan would have effectively pushed everyone from his life in one switch motion. Despite not blaming him for the affair his ex had pursued, she was the only one left in his corner. Well, she had been.
Walking into the master bathroom, the brunette turned around as she stood in front of the shower. Her comment had been made lightheartedly. A mere joke she would have made at any single client. His own retort had been fine until he went further. Jealous?! Laughter billowed from her lips as she dug her fingers into her pocket and pulled her business card. One that had the company number on it rather than her own. Venturing closer, she halted mere inches from him and slapped the card against his chest. “Why would I be jealous of someone who doesn’t have the common decency to pick up the phone once. Not that I’m surprised after you used me to get back at my brother and your ex-wife.”  Dilan removed her hand from the card, not caring if he’d grasped it from his chest or not. “Siktir git” she spat at him before brushing past him. “Call my office and they’ll get you another real estate agent.”
