and now I'm going to ramble here about the effects of time and grief and life in general because there is such a wall between late teens/early 20s ben and mid-late 20s/30s ben. they're almost entirely different people. and part of that is growing up and brain development but the other part of it is Everything Else. to the point where it's actually hard to conceptualize who he would be if his brother was still alive and then he subsequently never fell into addictions because both of those things inform SO MUCH about him. ironic considering how much he tries to deny them.
