After a tragic accident shatters Byleth’s dreams of greener pastures, she wakes up from a seven-year coma to find Dimitri, her foster brother, waiting for her.
Dimitri is the perfect caretaker. He’s sweet and patient, always tending to her every need with devotion and an unwavering smile. So when a quiet unease stirs within her—when his touch lingers, when his kindness feels a little too perfect—Byleth ignores it.
He just misses her. That’s all.

Title: Counting Stars
Written for @dimilethfever's Dimileth Valentine's Gift Exchange 2025 as a gift for @dimilethoe.
Fandom: Fire Emblem: Three Houses
Rating: M
Word count: 2,611
Summary: After the Battle at Gronder, Dimitri notices Byleth was wounded in battle. He doesn't forgive her.
Continue on ao3.
Byleth tugs on the reins of her mare and tangles her fingers through the soaked white mane. For a moment, the hair that knots around her hands is a tether that keeps her upright through the sudden springtime downpour.
As the sun sets behind her and her party, shards of water slice through the orange sky. Mud splashes with each clop of horse hooves and with every heavy step away from Gronder Field. Wagons trail behind them, dragging unceremoniously though the sloshing earth while carrying bodies.
The battle was long and relentless with too many casualties to count. But somehow, the dead do not outnumber the living even if just barely. Still, their weight is a boulder hanging around Byleth’s neck. And one body up ahead is pulled by Felix alone—though his childhood friends try to keep him company. Sylvain flits beside Felix though he is ignored, and Ingrid attempts to tuck the cloth around Rodrigue’s corpse without tripping through the sludge. Dimitri, muttering and lost, stumbles on his own mount beside the cart like an unfettered ghost.
Byleth grimaces. Her teeth grind together as she lets go of the reins for a moment to squeeze her injured shoulder. Blood seeps into the edge of her gambeson and trickles down her arm, dripping thick and red onto the horse’s white mane. Her blood mixes with the rain.
With all that had just happened, they did not have time to tend to the wounded before. Nor enough energy. Their supplies are nearly nothing, and vulneraries and antidotes had started to run dry when Edelgard set the hill on fire. (She can still hear Bernadetta’s screams as her body is consumed with the flames set by her own leader.)
The horse lurches forward as she avoids a deep puddle, and Byleth with her, grasping onto the reins in one swift motion. But Byleth’s reflexes do not stop the grunt of pain that escapes her.
The steady clip-clop continues, and suddenly Dimitri is at her side, but she does not know how she had not noticed him moving.
“You’re injured,” he says gruffly. Through the curtain of rain, his words are muffled, but she hears him as loud as she would on a clear day. He had not talked to her so directly without the want of revenge in a long while. It startles her out of her reverie, and shakes her to her core.
“It’s nothing,” Byleth cuts in. “A soldier with a sword—”
He grabs onto her wrist—the one on her uninjured arm—and his hold on her is bruising. “Do not lie to me. If you are damaged, you will only be a liability.”
She hisses when the wound on her shoulder stings. “It’s not fatal,” she responds.
“Then why are you shaking?” he growls.

Title: The Mountain's Guardian
Written for @dimilethfever's Dimileth Valentine's Gift Exchange 2025 as a treat for yanyan46e20.
Fandom: Fire Emblem: Three Houses
Rating: T
Word count: 2,455
Summary: Byleth is an ancient nature spirit who meets a wandering prince in her domain.
Continue on ao3.
Humans were fickle creatures. Forever changing, forever wanting—they confused her in ways others of her kind would not. Gangly, squat, even graceful at times. What confused her more was the fact that so many of them were different from each other.
Some of them talked to her as they trailed along the winding mountain path, knocking their walking sticks against stones and avoiding roots that jutted from the frozen earth. Others claimed to speak to her and her kind on a deeper level. They called themselves mediums who built bridges between her world and the material world. But many others still could never see her, their eyes blind to that which was not material.
“With your permission,” the humans said as they bowed into her domain. Though most could not see her, they greeted her like this, fearful of inciting her wrath. The children especially were told to do this with stern scolding, for the young ones often enjoyed adventuring into the unknown.
Once, she was the great spirit Byleth, the Lady of the Mountains, the Guardian of Gwenhwyvar. Her home was a towering elm tree that was as wide as a house. In its hollow she lived, watching over the Sacred Gwenhwyvar mountains through the seasons.
In the early days, her elm was small. The people who traversed her lands respected her and took only what they needed, and hunted only what they could carry. They foraged for wild berries and thanked her, never cutting away the plants they could not have. A nature spirit, a goddess whose presence kept balance in their world, is what humans called her. Around Fódlan she had sisters and brothers all over—the creeks hissed their secrets, the rivers raged against each other, the valleys swept away their floods, and the sea gave its bounty. Everywhere she and the other nature spirits resided, and they were part of the people as the people were part of them.

Underneath the Armor
Fandom: Fire Emblem: Three Houses
Rating: E
Word count: 3,749
Story summary: After Dimitri returns to his senses after the Battle of Gronder Field, he acts oddly restrained around Byleth—and she can’t figure out why. (Dimileth)
Written for @mochipicchu776 for the Dimileth Valentine's Exchange 2025, run by @dimilethfever
Read on AO3
————–
Byleth finds Dimitri in the training grounds.
Decked in full armor, he steps and swipes and parries at an invisible opponent. His lance glints in the sun, and his cloak sweeps behind him like a frenzied banner in his wake.
This is the first time she’s seen him train since the attack on Garreg Mach five years ago. The first time since he snarled at her in the Goddess Tower and accused her of being an imperial spy. The first time since Gronder Field, since…
Since Rodrigue died.
There’s something about the way he moves—more forceful, more desperate than she remembers. His strikes are furious and raw, like the growl that tears from his throat when he impales his enemies on his lance.
Byleth descends the steps into the arena. Her boots clack on the stone tiles.
Dimitri slows his movements, then comes to a stop. He rests the end of his lance on the ground.
“Ah…Good afternoon, Professor. What brings you to the training grounds?” he says. His tone is so courteous and polite that he might as well greet her with a bow.
So different from the way he threatened her after she killed Randolph and deprived him of the pleasure of tormenting the captured general. Or from the way he wept into her hands in the rain, opening himself up to her warmth at last.
So very different.

Collection Open (+ Comment Raffle!)
All 108 works in the Dimileth exchange collection are revealed - go forth and feast! 🍽
For a bit of extra fun, and to encourage exploration of the collection, all works will be anonymous for the first week. See if you can spot anyone you know!
And if you're still wrapping up a treat, don't worry: the collection will remain open for treating.
For folks in the exchange:
• Make sure to leave your gifter or gifters a kind comment!
• Refrain from posting about your own work until creators are revealed on Jan 21 (posting recs or gushing about your gift are fine!)
• You may want to redate your work so it shows up above works that were posted in the main tag while it was unrevealed. Instructions on how to do that are on our carrd here
For everyone - comment raffle!
To celebrate the collection opening, we're running a comment raffle! Comment on works in the collection by Jan 21 (10 PM CST), and enter to win a ficlet or sketch for a Dimileth prompt of your choice!
If you'd be interested in offering an additional prize, just let us know!
(The ratio of art gifts this year was close to 50%, so while we still want to give fics a little boost to balance for the uneven viewing time investment, you can treat the "3/5 must be fic comments" as "50% must be fic comments" if you're submitting multiple entries.)

[FE3H] The Bachelor
Title: The Bachelor Characters: Dimitri/Byleth Summary: Byleth works part-time at a café inside Fhirdiad General Hospital. During one of her shifts, one of the doctors there, Doctor Dimitri Blaiddyd, visits the café and is immediately enamored by her. She too is very interested in him and they start seeing each other.
Early in their relationship, Dimitri showers Byleth with luxury items and attention that causes her to feel very uncomfortable. She brings that up during their romantic trip to a mountain resort, only for him to offer her a marriage proposal instead.
Warnings: NSFW. dubious consent, noncon, impaired consent, non-consensual drug use, aphrodisiacs, emotional manipulation. This isn't my usual fluff Dimileth stuff, so tread carefully!
Second piece for @dimilethfever Dimileth Winter Exchange! This is a treat for @flatsuke!
Excerpt: "Good morning, Miss."
Byleth was snapped out of her woeful musings when her next customer showed up. She could tell he was a doctor based on his white doctor's coat and badge. His bright blonde hair was tied in a half-ponytail, and he had shimmering blue eyes like ocean waves. He seemed to be on the younger side compared to the other doctors who dropped by here, but she was certain he was several years older than her. She had seen this particular doctor in and out of the hospital a few times, but he just came to the café now.

[FE3H] How to Get Away With Courting Professor Jeralt's Daughter
Title: How to Get Away With Courting Professor Jeralt's Daughter Characters: Jeralt, Dimitri/Byleth, Leonie Summary: Jeralt is the professor for the Blue Lions House, and he knows that Prince Dimitri has a crush on his daughter, Byleth. He's going to make sure to give him hell. Warnings: Some violence moreso on the slapstick comedy kind, implied sex that happened offscreen
So I wrote two pieces for @dimilethfevers Dimileth Winter Exchange! First one is a Professor Jeralt and student!Byleth piece for @usaigi!
Excerpt: One student he kept a particular eye on, though, was the punk prince and house leader Dimitri Alexandre Blaiddyd. The night he and Byleth saved him and his friends in Remire Village, he already wanted to take her to the Kingdom of Faerghus! His interest in Byleth grew once they were in the same classroom, his soft gaze always fixing on her. He was certain Dimitri was smitten with her, and he would make sure to have him keep a distance from his daughter as much as possible.
For today's lesson, Jeralt was going over the axes and gauntlets homework he had given them a few nights ago. While lecturing, he noticed Dimitri once again gazing at Byleth instead of taking notes. Byleth seemed to notice too, glancing at him with small smiles. He ignored that for now to keep today's class running.

The anonymity period is over, so I can officially show off the piece I wrote for the Dimileth Winter Gift Exchange!
Lone mercenary Byleth takes a request to kill a dire wolf that's threatening a remote village. While in pursuit of the beast, she comes across a supposedly haunted manor in the woods and meets its unusual resident. It's a Beauty and the Beast-eque story with a twist!
(Did anyone who read it guess it was mine? I'm looking through the collection and finding that several of my guesses/suspicions were correct and others were surprises!)
Thanks again to the mods for doing this event! It was a lot of fun and helped get my writing juices flowing again in the wake of my "hangover" from finishing SWST.

Title: Healing Backwards
Made for the Dimileth Winter Gift Exchange @dimilethfever a treat for Nariana! I can finally reveal this with creator reveals!
Rating: T
Word count: 2,911
Summary: A mission that goes wrong reminds Byleth of Jeralt in a way that she was not expecting. Dimitri is there to understand.
Byleth had settled into a routine. Wake up at dawn, freshen up in the bathroom, head to the greenhouse to tend to the seed bulbs she had planted for the month, walk to the mess hall for breakfast, and then prepare for that day’s lecture. If she had time, she would do odd favors in between, even search for lost items if any of her students were missing anything.
If it was a Sunday, she would wake up earlier. She would sit at the end of the dock with her fishing rod and a container of bait at her side, her legs dangling as the tips of her boots skimmed the still waters of the pond. The ripples would roll from where her toes touched the water, creating concentric circles in the shape of a cathedral’s perfect rose window. The sunlight reflected off the surface the same way it would on stained glass, and a myriad of different colors refracted into starbursts.
That morning her routine remained as simple and straightforward as it had been. It was early in Pegasus Moon, the coldest and harshest month of the year. Even in a place milder in climate than Faerghus like Garreg Mach, the snow piled high. The air was chilled with frost, a constant stream of flurries making their way through the winds.
She trudged through the fresh snow that had covered the steps from her quarters, thinking not for the first time that perhaps she should wake a little later just so that the monks had time to shovel out a path. She did her routine, but as it was a weekday, she made her way to the bulletin where Seteth awaited her.
He nodded at her, the bulletin board in the mess hall behind him now plastered with clean parchment and requests. “It seems there is a skirmish in the Airmid River not far from here,” he said, then paused. He scratched at the beard on his chin, his emerald green hair standing out against his pale skin. “Or I should say there is fear of one.”

Title: I Held the Key
Made for the Dimileth Winter Gift Exchange @dimilethfever a treat for @avaritiaff ! I can finally reveal this with creator reveals!
Sequel to My Mirror, My Sword, and Shield, but you do not have to read that to read this oneshot. It can act as a standalone. I suppose it wasn't much of a secret as to who wrote it because of this 😅
Rating: T
Word count: 6,191
Summary: After their engagement, Dimitri realizes he and Byleth have never gone on a real date.
“C’mon, Your Majesty!” exclaimed Sylvain. He sat across from Dimitri and next to Felix at the small round table they were using. “It’s the end of the year. Winter is in full swing. It’s practically cuddle weather. Don’t tell me you don’t have anything planned now that you’re officially courting the Professor!”
Felix scoffed. “They’re already promised to be married,” he said. “What more is there to do?”
“So, they exchanged rings already,” replied Sylvain with a dismissive wave of his hand. “They aren’t married yet. What’s wrong with a good old-fashioned date? I know you are too proper for a romp in the haystacks, Dimitri. Although, that would be an interesting thing to witness—”
“Sylvain!” interrupted Felix with a glare.
Sylvain grinned, then continued. “You don’t seriously consider those tea parties we had back at the academy dates, do you?” He looked at Dimitri with a raised eyebrow and a disapproving stare.
Dimitri sputtered. He did not know what to say.
