Tony and Ziva had decided to take their daughter to the sea life center, she had never been before. 

Tony now stood in front of the glass holding Isabel so that she could see all of the wonderful creatures before her eyes. He could see the fascination in her smile as she pointed to the dolphin swimming right in front of them, Tony couldn’t lie, he was almost as overwhelmed as she was. 

Ziva walked up next to them and placed her hand on Tony’s shoulder “This is amazing Tony” she said giving him a small peck on the check and stocking her daughters head.

"Ziva, Ziva come here!" Tony said quietly as he watched his daughter, who had fallen asleep standing up. It was her birthday and the day had been full of excitement and visitors, it must have gotten the better of her. 

Ziva walked into the living room and smiled at the sight in front of her. "how long has she been like that" asked chuckling slightly. 

"Not sure, I just walked in and found her like this" he explained.

"I'm just finishing up in the kitchen, will you put her to bed?" Ziva asked.

Tony smiled and kissed Ziva on the side of the head. "Sure, see you in a minute" he said.

Tony walked over to Isabel and carefully picked her up. Her head draped over his shoulder and she stirred slightly. As he walked past Ziva, she gave her daughter a light kiss on the head and stroked Tony's arm.

He watched her staring out of the window in the living room. She had been there for hours, just waiting.

It had been almost a week since that day and Tony still wasn’t sure that his daughter fully understood. At only 5 years old she was an intelligent little girl, but something like this impacts a child’s life forever.

He watched as her little head dropped down and she hugged the teddy that was sitting on her lap. Tony quietly walked further into the room and sat down on the couch next to her. She looked up, sadness in her eyes.

"When’s mommy coming home?" She asked. The innocence in her voice was almost enough to break his heart alone.

Tony thought carefully about what he was going to say. But no matter how hard he tried nothing would make the situation any better.

"Mommy’s gone..to see the Angel’s honey. We’ve talked about this" he said, stroking her hair.

"I know, but when is she coming back? From seeing the angels?" She asked.

Tony rubbed his hands across he face trying to keep it together in front of his daughter.

"Come here" he said reaching his arms out gesturing for her to side on his lap. She was more than happy to cuddle up to her daddy.

"Well you see honey bear, the Angels love mommy sooo much, that they don’t want to send her back, they need mommy to stay and look after all the little girls and boys visiting the angels too" Tony said, his voice cracking slightly.

"But we need mommy here" she replied. Tears began to make their way down her cheek.

"I know we do, but mommy will always be watching us. She will always be there if we need her. You know you can talk to her whenever you like" Tony continued.

The little girl nodded her head but the sobs were still escaping her throat. Tony stroked away the tears gently with his thumb and kiss her forehead. She snuggled into his chest and closed her eyes. Only then did Tony let a single tear fall.

"Mommy loves you and she always will no matter where she is" he reassured her.

After a few moments the little girl raised her head.

"Daddy? Can we plant a tree for mommy?" She asked.

"Of course we can, I think she’d like that" he replied.

Isabel sat in the back seat. She was in trouble. A boy in her class had told her that she was cute and she hadn’t taken it well. She knocked the poor boy to the ground and he now had an enlarging bruise on his head.

“You really need to control your temper Isabel” Ziva said sternly.

Tony smirked slightly. “What like you?” he said. Ziva punched him in the arm. “Ouch!, see what I mean!”

Ziva smiled and looked down in her lap.

“This isn’t funny” Ziva tried to keep a straight face and failed.

All three DiNozzo’s now laughing on their way home from the principal’s office for the 3rd time in two weeks.
