Mutual friends of theirs. He was pretty sure Colton meant his friends and then people who bother him. But He still wasn’t sure who the son of Hades was talking about.
“Hm. best i don’t keep you waiting.”
A boy walked up the pinochle table, watching the cards carefully as invisible spirits played with Dionysus.
"My oh my, I'd seen a lot but I ain't never seen something like this." He said, a thick southern drawl and the speaking cadence of a man who'd just walked out of the early-late 1900's.
His hair, jet black, was slicked back and immaculately held in place. He wore a pinstripe suit, once again making him look like he walked out of the 40's, and a myriad of gold rings on his fingers.
"Now sir I can't hardly imagine playin' with unseen company is any bit of fun! What'd'ya say you send those little specters on their way and play with someone who actually has to put effort into their poker face?" The boy asked, already pulling out a chair and sitting down. He looked....well his age was hard to pinpoint.
Before Dionysus could say anything, a large handful of drachma were dropped down on the table. "Hell! Why don't we make it a bit interestin'? Now I know a man of your high stature ain't got much need for money, but who doesn't love a fair wager?" He asked, sticking his ringed hand out across the table for Dionysus to shake.
"Colton. Colton Easton, sir." He introduced him, grinning like a salesman
He frowned at the drachma’s son the table, Colton was right. The gods had no need for money. When He stuck out his hand to shake Dionysus just looked at it with a blank expression.
He didn’t trust this kid- reminded him of Chrysanthemum. Out of place.
“I’m fine. I was just wrapping this game up.” He lied, He had actually just started the game but he had no intention whatsoever of playing with this guy.

“There’s like- 3 buttons on modern vacuums. Not that hard.” Dionysus scoffed, glacing down at his cards.
“Most campers who gotten stuck in the casino feel the same way. They got used to it. You’ll be fine.” He was so close to winning. So close to getting a piece of Ariadne back. He had sworn he’d never leave her yet he did.

“Hm, Sounds terrible.” He replied blankly, noting Colton’s sloppy move. Hey, at least he found this kids weakness for cards.
He played his own card, looking Colton up and down. “Not a fan of Vacuum’s? They aren’t that hard to use, I don’t use them but still.”

He could tell Colton was a bit full of himself, Maybe had a bit of Hubris, So naturally he wouldn’t like losing. Dionysus didn’t care. He needed this.
“What did hermes’ have you do in the casino?” He asked curiously as he played a card

“Ya like to gamble, hm?” Dionysus noted, taking a sip from a can of diet coke he had summoned.
“I hate to say it but you have peak my interest.” He had to win this game. It wasn’t just about pride or proving himself. It was about the perfume. That bottle held more than just scent, it held memory. One rare, aching reminder of Ariadne.
Winning meant holding onto her, even if only through the ghost of a fragrance.

Dionysus grumbled to himself as he looked down at his cards, He didn’t like this kid.
“Most people, mortal or immortal aren’t big fans of losing.” he noted.
One thing Colton said confused him “got out with the help of a little friend of mine, I think ya know ‘em.” Mr. D knew plenty of demigods and gods. Who had helped Colton get out of the casino?

“Yo, D.” Vince stepped into the sunroom the god resided in, with a bag of chips. Two of his hands were preoccupied with his snack, the other was fiddling with some sort of device.
“How’s my second favorite god doing?” He grinned, sitting down in one of the chairs across from Dionysus.
- @/I don’t remember Vince’s url </3
"second favorite? And don't call me that-" He groaned, glancing over at the device in Vince's hand

“Us above- don’t tell me you’re a hades kid.” Ok, a hades kid wasn’t terrible, sure big three kids where powerful b7t compared to a few other demigods Dionysus had met he could deal with a cocky son of hades.
“And the lotus casino…Makes sense.” One of His sons, C.J had gotten stuck in the lotus casino, And he knew of a daughter of Type who had as well. He was fairly sure the girl was scamming kids at camp but- as long as she didn’t bother him he didn’t care what she did.

“Ariadne…” Dionysus murmured, Voice barley above a whisper.
He could still see her, laughing barefoot on the cliffs, her hair wild in the sea breeze, untouched by time. Her voice, light and teasing, telling him he drank too much and loved too hard. Her fingers, brushing his cheek that one night when he swore he’d never leave her.
But he had. Or rather, the Zeus had made sure he had.
He glanced over at the bottle and then Colton. Dionysus hadn’t totally trusted this kid, but this proved his feelings right. “Aren’t you too young to drink?” He scoffed, raising an eyebrow. Whatever- he didn’t care. “Fine. One more round.”
A boy walked up the pinochle table, watching the cards carefully as invisible spirits played with Dionysus.

“Fine. Let’s play.” He huffed, and with a snap of his fingers a freshly shuffled deck appeared in the middle of the card table. He still didn’t trust Colton, but…He was curious about what else he had with him.
Plus, if the guy did try to scam him, he couldn’t always smite Colton! Win win!

His eyes immediately darted to the toga. He was quite fond of his collection of flashy buttons ups, but…He missed his togas as well. It would t hurt would it?
“Where’d you get that?” He asked, doing his best to sound calm and collected. In all honesty he felt untrusting of this southern guy.

“I didn’t even push you that hard-?” He grumbled, Frowning down at the little doll.
He took a step back, Merely annoyed. Honestly he could never catch a break could he?
Tink...tink....tink
sounded like ceramic hitting the floor over and over, right outside the big house on the porch as Dionysus rested on the couch. After the bullshit these kids have put him through (cough cough SETH AHARON THE TWINS JAOQUIN ALEJANDRA KEELIE SEBASTIAN HESPERIS CASEY cough cough) he told Chiron to not let a single child into the big house for AT LEAST a week.
The sound of ceramic didn't go away, getting closer and closer. It was at this moment Dionysus was reminded of the open window to allow a breeze in, he was reminded by the sound of something falling onto the big house floor through that open window.
A little clay figure, about the size of Dionysus's hand, human in shape with no facial features or real details. The ceramic sound came from the clay doll walking on the floor.
It seemed to be looking for something, heading for Dionysus's office.
Dionysus stood there staring at the clay figure with a blank expression. He was sauced to all sorts of weird things- After all he was a god.
But living clay dolls weren’t the type of weird the god was used too.
“What is that..?”
He stepped past the doll with a frown-and peered out the open window.

He opened the door and looked down at the small doll. What was that doing here?
Ok so this doll thing wasn’t a kid- But…Maybe that was worse?
Cautiously Dionysus nudged the doll with his foot. (Despite the fact that he was a god he seemed a bit weary of it)

Dionysus blinked- He didn’t get asked stuff like that often.
“I- I don’t know? I barely know you kid.”
*Cassie was more of a quite camper, usually just sticking by themselves but today was different they went up to Mr.D with one question in mind*
I have a question
*their voice was quite as if they spoke up they'll get yelled at*
@cassie-child-of-hades
Dionysus didn’t like the campers here. (Ok he liked…Maybe three. But that was it)
He just wanted to play pinochle and relax, But no! Someone always came to bother him.
“What?” He sighed, glancing up from his cards
