Kieran scrambled over with no caution or remorse. His anxieties rattled at his ribcage and bubbled to the surface in a Pyroar’s cry. “ I’M GONNA BE A FATHER!” 

Arven’s pupils shrank as his head cocked back. “WHAT!”

“I’MGONNABEAFATHERANDSHESAIDWE’RECOPARENTIN’ AND I DIDN’T EVEN HAVE TIME TO PREPARE!” 

Arven’s hands flew out, frantic. “OH MY ARCEUS.”

“Can you two-”

“FATHER!” Kieran repeated at an equal volume.

“calm-”

“FATHER?!” Arven echoed, his eyes darting wildly between Kieran and Juliana. “H-HOW?! SO FAST?! HOW DID YOU…SO FAST.” His jaw dropped.

Kieran exclaimed, shoving the egg in Arven’s view. 

“DOWN.”

This had NO RIGHT to be as funny as it is!

Co-parenting . She’d just said it like it was nothing. Like the syllables hadn’t just rewired his entire nervous system. Like his brain wasn’t currently flashing scenes of them together: strolling down a romantic park in the middle of a sunset, pushing the egg in some cutesy, ribbony baby carriage after dressing it up with a diaper and a binkie, musing about what color they’re painting the nursery. Then they’d go home and tuck it into bed, then give each other a goodnight ki- STOP.

Kieran has OBVIOUSLY thought of this scenario often!
