The boy in my dreams loves me enough to let me meet his mother and destroys the idea that love is what I came here to die for. 22. Maybe love stays, maybe love can’t. Maybe love shouldn’t. 23. I glance off in another direction, but I always glance back at you. 24. Things that are sweet like this attract the worst kind of hungry. 25. But bliss is temporary when you pull your hands away from your eyes, and summer only lasts 3 months. 27. Let it pass; April is over, April is over. Go to the gym. Lift weights. Run until you escape the nausea in your stomach, the ache in your chest. Sweat out as much sadness as you possibly can. Sweat until there are no tears left. Breathe in until you find yourself. Exhale and breathe in again. This is the closest you’ll get to feeling comfortable. A temporary vacation from your head.

I promise

To view this as an opportunity to improve myself and the things in my life.

To be kind to myself. 

To focus on my son, my work and my talents.

To be grateful and to live my life in a positive way.

To dig in deep and resolve old issues via therapy, self-discovery and writing. 

To respect my heart by giving it the time it needs to heal. 

To not make choices that would cause myself or anyone I love any pain, anxiety or hurt. 

To dedicate the time and effort needed to become the most mentally and physically fit I have ever been. 

To work on listening.

To learn how to walk away in tense situations and give it space instead of reacting.

To travel. 

To meditate.

To eat. 

To have fun and be happy.

To forgive myself. 

To give respect to myself and the people I love most.

To learn from the bad without letting it overshadow the good.

To respect other’s journeys and believe that the highest good will come from it. 

To be a loving friend. 

To be understanding. 

To remember that I am worthy of love and respect.
