Lord, returning to this blog is so weird, started it at least two years ago to keep myself accountable and here I am, not having posted in way too long for comfort
Am doing alright on the school front tho. I've learned to accept that I will always procrastinate on everything, and instead planned my routines around that.
Still hit and miss but it definitely works better, especially with how the pandemic ruined any progress I had in becoming a ~model student~

It's 01:35am and I'm at that point in the project where I'm considering just telling the teacher that I couldn't access my files.
Is it a lie? Only halfway!
Is it gonna make me feel guilty? Likely!
Is it gonna make my teacher's neutral feelings towards me tip on over into dislike?
Y e s and it distresses me greatly 😌

A Guide to Audio Journaling
This past month (or longer, I think) I switched from regular, written journaling to audio journaling, and I thought it’d be great to share my experience: the practice, what I actually do, why I do it, and some things to think about if you wanna try it out.
I keep all my audio journals on the voice memos app on my phone, but if any of you know an alternate platform to do so, feel free to share!
Anyway, hope this helps, and as usual, if you have any questions, don’t hesitate to send me a message or drop me an ask. Have an awesome week :)

Hey so it’s like two am where I live but I just got back from a late endgame showing and totally didn’t cry and anyway I wanted your opinion of a thought I had: nick fury waiting tony out to get to Spider-Man has the same energy as hydra waiting Peggy carter out to do their thing
you are 120% right and you should say it more often!

The thing I do is follow people on goodreads. I look through the books they've read and try to find ones I liked or disliked, and see if they rated them similarly to how I would
List of Books to Read Before You Die
1. Any book you want
2. Don’t read books you don’t want to read
3. That’s it
4. Congratulations you did it

Absolutely needed to see this today 😣
Okay, you messed up, whatever it is didn’t go to plan. Maybe you didn’t study today. Maybe you procrastinated all day. Maybe you gave up on that essay you need to write. Maybe you didn’t write that lab report. Maybe you had to sit a test without being prepared and are pretty sure you failed. So what? Mistakes happen, they’re a part of life and there’s nothing you can do now. Where do you go from here? Give up entirely or learn from this experience and do the best you can from now on? You can come back from this, it’ll be okay.

reminder to myself about the process of drafting & revising:
first drafts are for making it exist
second drafts are for making it functional
third drafts are for making it effective

Some of the best writing advice I ever got was if you’re stuck on a scene or a line, the problem is actually about 10 lines back and that’s saved me from writer’s block so many times.

Dude this is the same for me, I try to do it but it becomes a Stress Thing instead of a Helpful Thing
Why I Don’t Bullet Journal
Bullet journaling usually fills me with anxiety. I’m a perfectionist, and I don’t have the time in my life right now to have an elaborate and beautiful journal. I need something quick and messy, so I just get tiny dollar notebooks and write my thoughts and tasks when I can.
Also I know that if I did bullet journal I would use it as a way to procrastinate doing my work. I would just sit there doodling and making it beyond extravagant, because I always want to do something the best. Right now in my life, I just need quick one and done, but with how bullet journals are presented, I would feel bad looking at my own.
So really I just get those tiny Dollar Tree spirals, and write everything I need down. It doesn’t have to look pretty, and I don’t feel the need for my handwriting to be amazing, because honestly I’m not a calligraphy artist, I don’t know how the bullet journal and studyblr community can make such pretty titles.
Ultimately I know that I can’t live up to the expectations I would set for myself if I had a bullet journal, so I’m just going to stick to the things the good old way. Simple little spiral.
Also bullet journals have too many possibilities and I’m one of those people who overthink everything in life. That is where the stress stems from.
Note; I have tried bullet journals and have done it off and on for years. I always end up finding that it complicates my life further, and that I’m always wanting to make it something beyond my ability. It also lacks structure, which is something I do require. Often if I want to do something that is in a bullet journal style, I will create a list in a word document and print it out.
Another note; I’m really happy for the people it does work for, I’m so glad that you enjoy it, and that it simplifies your life. I wish it was that way for me.

Would you guys like a post on why I don’t bullet journal? I can write a long post explaining why it doesn’t work for me, and whatnot.
