đŸ”ȘChapter 5 : The Knife in Your Boot
The giant kneels beside you, his voice heavy, almost human in its calm.
“We’re not here to hurt your village. We came for the slavers. That’s all.”
You stare at him.
At his bloodied hands.
At the corpses behind him.
And something erupts inside your chest. A fire that’s been burning for years. Your parents. The hunger. The slavers that walked these streets like gods. The fear. The way this monster lifted you like a rag. And now he dares to speak to you as if you’re a child?
No.
You’re not a child.
You spit.
Right in his face.
The glob of spit strikes his cheek, sliding down the side of his jaw. His expression doesn't change — not immediately — but the silence around you does. Even the chaos on the dock feels distant now.
"You’re all monsters," you snarl, your voice hoarse with hate. “You think you're better than them? You’re just another kind of beast! You came here to kill, and now you pretend to care? Go to hell.”
Tiger blinks slowly.
Behind you, Arlong growls, low and venomous.
And in that moment, your hand shoots to your boot.
Fast.
Trained.
Your fingers wrap around cold steel — the second blade, the one no one ever sees.
With a twist and a shout, you launch yourself forward, aiming for Tiger’s side.
The blade flashes through the air—
—only to be stopped by a single massive hand, catching your wrist in an iron grip.
“Don’t,” Tiger says. Not angry. Not shouting. Just disappointed.
But you’re not done.
Your body spins on instinct, and your blade finds a new target — the one who really deserves it.
Arlong.
He was the one who grabbed you. Who looked at you like meat. Who wanted you dead.
And he never expected you to come back swinging.
Your knife sinks into his forearm.
He howls — a sound like metal scraping against bone — and jerks back. Blood spurts across the dirt. You twist the blade for good measure before he flings you back with a roar.
“You little BITCH!”
You hit the ground hard, sliding on your hip, breath knocked out of you. You scramble to your feet, knife still clenched, your face wild with fury.
Arlong storms forward, blood dripping from his arm, eyes glowing with rage. "I’ll KILL you for that!"
But before he reaches you, Tiger is there.
He grabs Arlong by the shoulder and slams him back a step.
“Enough!”
“She stabbed me!”
“She’s a human girl who lost everything! What did you expect?!”
“You said it yourself, Tiger! They’d kill us without blinking!”
“And what do we become if we start killing back the same way?!”
The crew has gone quiet. Even the chaos of the village seems to pause for a heartbeat. All eyes are on you.
You stand, trembling, panting, your knife held tight, blood smeared across your knuckles.
You don’t cry.
You don’t beg.
You don’t run.
You just stand there, staring at monsters
and daring them to come closer.
Tiger turns to you again. His voice is lower now. Measured.
“You hate us. I understand. Maybe one day you’ll see us for what we really are. Maybe not.”
“But if you try to stab another one of my crew
”
He steps forward, looming over you, shadows curling around his massive form.
“You’d better aim for the heart next time.”
He turns and walks away, leaving the air cold behind him.
Arlong sneers, cradling his wound, staring at you with death in his eyes.
“You should’ve let me kill her, Tiger. You’re making a mistake.”
But you don’t care.
Because for the first time in your life

You didn’t run.
You fought back.
And monsters or not

You drew blood.

đŸ©žChapter 4 : Eyes like Blades
You try to move quietly, shifting from one ruined alleyway to the next. The chaos at the docks is still raging — shouts, screams, the crash of shattered wood and fire crackling against the night air. You slip behind an old cart, but the shadows no longer feel safe. You need to find somewhere deeper, darker.
Then it happens.
A flicker of movement — a shape watching from the edge of the fray. You feel it before you see him. You turn slowly, and your eyes lock with his.
He stands just a dozen steps away. One of them.
His skin is a sickly shade of blue-gray, long jagged nose protruding from his face like a weapon. A saw. His teeth, sharp and yellowed, poke from his lips even at rest. His frame is lean but powerful — the size of an adult man, maybe more — but it’s not his body that holds you frozen.
It’s his eyes.
Eyes full of violence. Of rage. Of something that goes deeper than the hate you see in men. This isn’t fear or fury — this is resentment. Centuries of it.
You want to move. Gods, you want to run. But your legs won’t obey. Your fingers tighten around your knife, but you know, even without trying, it wouldn’t matter.
He doesn’t say a word. Neither do you.
You just look at each other.
The world disappears. The noise, the chaos, even your own breath. It’s just you and him, and the weight of that gaze pressing down like the ocean itself.
Then your body jolts—fight or flight finally takes over.
You spin on your heel and run.
Your boots slap against stone and mud, heart slamming in your chest. You duck past broken fences, leap over debris. You don’t look back.
Until you feel it.
Fingers like steel clamp down on your collar, jerking you backward mid-step. You’re lifted off the ground like a sack of grain. Your knife slips from your hand and hits the dirt.
"Gotcha," the Fish-Man growls.
His voice is guttural. Cruel. His breath smells like salt and blood.
He dangles you in the air, turning toward the others. Toward the one they call Tiger.
You squirm and kick, but he barely notices.
"Hey, Tiger!" he shouts, starting to walk. “Found one. Human girl. She was hiding.”
A taller Fish-Man turns — massive, with skin like stone and a heavy, slow gait. You recognize him instantly. The tattoo of a sun scorched across his chest. The eyes that carry centuries of pain.
Fisher Tiger.
He sees you. His eyes widen a fraction. His brow lowers.
The saw-shark keeps walking. His grip tightens.
“She was spying. Could be working with the slavers,” he growls. “Should I kill her?”
Tiger doesn’t answer immediately.
You stare down at the ground, your boots swinging inches above the dirt. Your voice won’t come. Your chest is burning with fear and shame and rage all tangled together.
“Put her down, Arlong,” Tiger finally says, voice low and heavy.
“She’s human,” the shark — Arlong — spits.
“She’s a child.”
“So what? You think they’d spare one of ours if the roles were reversed?”
Tiger steps forward now. There’s something terrifying in his calm. “I said put her down.”
Arlong's nostrils flare. His grip loosens slightly
then, with a grunt, he drops you. You hit the ground hard and roll to your side, coughing.
“Don’t make me regret it,” he growls, looming over you one last time before turning his back.
Tiger kneels, towering beside you.
“You,” he says. “What’s your name?”
You clutch your side, eyes wide, unable to speak.
He doesn't push. “We’re not here to hurt your village. We came for the slavers. That’s all.”
You stare at him. At the blood dripping from his knuckles. At the bodies behind him.
They say monsters come from the sea.
But these ones walk like men. And some of them talk like them too.

🩈Chapitre 3 : Monsters Among Us
You press your back against the cold, cracked wall of a broken warehouse, every nerve screaming in your chest. Your eyes widen as the figures step onto the village docks—Fish-Men, for the very first time in your life. They tower over the humans like giants. Even the smallest among them would swallow any adult man whole if they wished. Their skin glistens with scales in shades of blue, green, and grey; their eyes burn with a fierce wildness you’ve only seen in nightmares. There are women among them, too — lithe and fierce, moving with the deadly grace of predators. And some of these Fish-Men are younger than you, but even they dwarf the humans around you.
Your breath catches as you watch one of them—a hulking hammerhead with sharp scars running down his broad shoulders—grab a slave trader by the collar.
“Your reign ends today,” the Fish-Man growls, voice like thunder beneath the waves.
The trader’s eyes flash with defiance. “You monsters think you can just take over? We won’t let you.”
Before he can finish, a brutal punch sends him flying through a stack of crates, crashing with a sickening thud. The Fish-Man’s companions don’t hesitate — one lashes out with tentacles like whips, another spins a pair of gleaming blades, slicing down two men who rushed forward.
You choke on a gasp. They kill with terrifying ease, each move a deadly dance honed by years of suffering and rage.
Nearby, a young Fish-Woman with sleek violet skin and glowing eyes darts silently between the chaos, her inky tentacles slipping through shadows like smoke. You can’t tear your gaze away.
“Varka, don’t get careless!” a gruff voice calls out. It’s the captain — Fisher Tiger, the giant Arapaima Fish-Man with the blazing sun tattoo across his chest. He moves with calm authority, even as violence erupts around him.
“They brought this on themselves,” Varka hisses, disappearing into the crowd like a shadow.
Your heart pounds wildly. You’ve never seen killing like this. These creatures—they’re monsters, just like the stories. But there’s something else beneath the blood and fury... something almost human.
A child screams nearby, and you blink, suddenly aware of the chaos all around you. The world you knew is crumbling beneath the shadow of the black sun.

⛔Chapter 2 : The Black Sun
You were raised in a village where fear ruled every whispered story and every cautious glance. They called the monsters “Fish-Men”—giant beasts from the depths of the sea, merciless killers who would drag any human under the waves without a second thought. The books you sneaked to read at night told tales of these creatures, wild and brutal, born to destroy.
Now, as you hide behind broken crates near the shore, your breath shallow and heart hammering, you see it: an enormous ship cutting through the waves like a shadow made flesh. Its sails are black as night, and at its center burns a dark red sun—a symbol you’ve only heard in rumors, whispered in fear and awe.
Since last night, even the slave traders—ruthless men who made fortunes from pain—have been arming themselves. The moment they saw the black death approaching, the village’s desperate few took up whatever weapons they could find.
You can hear shouting, the clash of hurried preparations. No one knows if the sun will bring salvation or destruction.
You clutch your knife tighter. The legends are alive. And your world is about to change forever.

đŸ—șChapter 1 : The Edge of the Sea
You grip the worn hilt of your knife as the salty wind bites your face. The coastal village is barely a shadow beneath the smoke rising from distant fires. Marines have come again—raiding, burning, dragging away those too weak to run. You’ve lost count of how many times this has happened, how many faces have vanished into the dark underbelly of the slave trade.
Your fists clench. The blood of your father, slain for daring to resist, runs cold in your veins. Your mother, taken by sickness, left you alone in a world that wants you broken.
But you’re not broken.
You move through the shattered streets like a ghost, unseen and unforgiving. The ocean calls beyond the ruined docks—a promise, a curse. You don’t know what lies past the horizon, only that it might hold your salvation
 or your doom.
Suddenly, distant splashes catch your ear. Ships. Not Marine vessels. Larger, marked by a blazing sun—a symbol of freedom you’ve only heard whispered in terrified stories.
You freeze, heart pounding. Fish-Men pirates? The myths of monsters under the waves come alive before your eyes. But maybe
 maybe they’re something else.
You take a shaky breath, gripping your knife tighter. Whatever awaits, you’ll face it on your own terms.
