djotime: Hard not to feel like all this work for the last few years hasn’t partially led to this past weekend. A culmination of so much hard work from so many people and a cathartic moment for me that you can’t really prepare for. Chicago is an incredible city and is a special place for me, it’s like an old friend who knows the real you. And this weekend has left me feeling truly stunned. Deeply grateful. Grateful to every person who has listened to the music that I’ve made and felt some sort of connection. Grateful to be able to be around such brilliant people and loving friends and family. I’ve felt my growth as a musician and performer this year and I guess this experience has left me feeling that more than ever, I love connecting with people through this, maybe more than I thought. And I want to keep doing that, however that looks. Even though we’ve been grinding this year, I still feel like I’m just scratching the surface. So to all the fans, to my friends and family, to the artists that have supported us and lifted us up, thank you from the bottom of my heart. Perhaps I’ll never be totally satisfied and always striving for that next step. I’m always pushing, always working to make myself and others happy. But at this moment in time I can truly say I am proud of what I have done and proud to be standing with people I have done it with. And that’s a very nice feeling, and one I’ll hold on to.
