Like beeswax doesn't. It kinda just stays as beeswax in the soap. The lye has nowhere to go with it. That liquid seeping out of the soap? The brown and clear drops?? That's lye. That's straight up lye. This mf made the soap equivalent of the Chernobyl elephants foot.

Voice of the cold water

I have such a love for loons, they live on the lake I spent my childhood summers. They generally avoid people but if I go out swimming at dawn while they’re howling in the fog they’ll come right up close to investigate this big pale clumsy bird in their lake. Ever since our wolves got pushed northwest, loons are the one consistent animal sound you can hear at night, wailing and cackling.

Lil miss Lowell. Thalia and co’s werewolf stepkid, she has so much lore under the cut

Adopted kiddo of marlin and Thalia, they wanted to make up for their horrid parenting with their first daughter. When one of marlin’s colleague turns out to be a bloodthirsty monster who’s been trying to court and isolate him for months (regency hannigram vibes), Thalia kills him and saves her boy, but they find a horrid hairy baby thing in the coworker’s seemingly abandoned house. His own child he kept locked away for the last five years. They decide that if they couldn’t do right by Mallory, they could at least try to care for this werewolf child.

They do their absolute damnedest to give Lowell a supportive and normal childhood which creates a bit of a weird creature. She’s a well spoken and polite upper middle class girl, well educated and well dressed. And also still hairy and fanged.

Lowell is trans, purely because I wrote her as a boy at first and then decided I wanted to put her in fancy dresses and elaborate hairstyles.

Her stepsister, Mallory, understandably resents the fact that her parents replaced her with a nicer daughter. Fuck this little thing that got spoiled rotten when I got chased out my own home at knifepoint by my father just years before.

They do eventually get along and Mallory is viciously protective of Lowell who isn’t much for fighting or biting. Lowell is the voice of reason and the brains of the pair. Lowell eventually does manage to reconcile Mallory with her parents to a degree.
